Chapter 10 She got seasick (1/2)

After driving for more than an hour, we finally arrived at the pier.

The two officers simply put her on the ship and left, saying that someone would pick her up when she arrived on the island.

Xiang Wanwan thanked them and then boarded the boat.

This ship was delivering supplies to the island and also taking military dependents to the island.

She stood on the deck, looking out at the boundless sea.

The sea breeze swept across the deck, ruffling the stray hairs by her ears, and causing the hem of her white floral dress to cling tightly to her body.

Against the backdrop of the azure sky and the sea, her bright eyes and brows stood out even more.

A few female soldiers carrying military water bottles were not far away, their eyes filled with undisguised amazement as they looked at her, whispering among themselves:

"She's really good-looking; I wonder whose military spouse she is..."

After blowing for a while, Xiang Wanwan came down from the deck and went into the cabin.

The large ship was pounded by the waves and suddenly sank, then was lifted up again, and so on repeatedly. Xiang Wanwan held onto the swaying table in the cabin and felt a wave of dizziness.

When she couldn't bear it any longer, she came out of the cabin and leaned on the railing.

She felt acid rising in her stomach, and then she leaned over the railing and started vomiting violently.

Sure enough, she got seasick.

We've only been on the ship for less than an hour, and this is already happening.

We don't know how much longer it will take, what should we do?

If she kept vomiting all the way to the island, she'd probably just kick the bucket!

Just as she thought of this, her stomach churned again, and she leaned against the railing, vomiting violently once more.

Just then, a wave suddenly came, and because she was clinging to the railing, the ship rocked, and she lost her balance, her whole body tumbling over the railing.

Xiang Wanwan was completely terrified.

Suddenly, a hand grabbed her from behind and immediately pulled her down from the railing.

She heard a hoarse, startled cry behind her:

"Oh my, this little girl is terrifying!"

Xiang Wanwan was still in shock, patting her chest and panting heavily.

She looked at the person who had just saved her.

She wore an indigo-blue coarse cotton coat, her hair was tied back, and a few stray strands of hair were blown about by the sea breeze—a typical image of a rural woman.

Xiang Wanwan looked at her gratefully and thanked her repeatedly.

"Thank you, elder sister. If it weren't for you, I would have perished at sea today."

"No need to thank me, it was just a small favor."

The older sister didn't care at all and waved her hand.

Xiang Wanwan looked at the rural woman in front of her. Although she was not good-looking, she had a straightforward personality.

Suddenly, the boat started rocking again. She grabbed the railing and felt acid reflux rising in her stomach.

The older woman in front of her noticed her discomfort and asked with concern, "Young lady, are you pregnant?"

Xiang Wanwan immediately shook her head.

She hasn't even met her husband yet, how could she be pregnant!

Suppressing the nausea, he managed to utter a few words with difficulty: "Seasickness!"

The older sister glanced at her, then pulled her straight into the cabin.

She followed her older sister into the cabin, sat down on a stool, and took out a small jar from her bag. When she opened it, she smelled of sour water.

She put it on the table. "Try it. These are my own pickled cucumbers. Eating something sour might help."

Looking at the dark cucumbers in the jar, Xiang Wanwan hesitated to pick them up.

Is this definitely safe to eat?

A look of doubt appeared on her face.

Seeing her expression, the older sister quickly said, "You should try it, it's delicious! My pickled cucumbers are the best in the village."

Xiang Wanwan hesitated for a moment, then reached out, took a small piece, and put it in her mouth.

A burst of tangy flavor filled my mouth; it wasn't as bad as I'd imagined.

The cucumber is very crisp, and even after being pickled, it retains its original flavor, being sweet and sour.

After eating a piece of cucumber, Xiang Wanwan felt much better, and her eyes lit up.

it works!
