These past few days, Peppa has been restless and pacing around the pigpen, grunting and whining all day long, and rooting around the trough.
Xiang Wanwan watched anxiously from the side.
But the most anxious one was Mrs. Wang, who said that Peiqi was probably pregnant with at least five babies and was afraid that something might go wrong.
She now wishes she could live right next to a pigsty.
Aunt Wang set up a birthing room for Peiqi, lined with dry straw. They even built another pen next to the pigsty, specifically for the piglets to use later.
That night, just as Xiang Wanwan fell asleep, she heard Peiqi making a series of grunting sounds in the back room.
The noise was louder than usual, so she immediately got out of bed and woke up Lu Jingnian.
"Lu Jingnian, Peiqi is about to give birth! Quickly go and call your sister-in-law to deliver the baby!"
"Don't worry, I'll be right there."
Lu Jingnian took the flashlight and handed it to Xiang Wanwan.
"Follow the path, don't fall."
Xiang Wanwan hurriedly went out, and as soon as she stepped out, she saw Wang Sao also coming out of the house.
"Wanwan, hurry! Peppa is about to give birth."
They picked up their equipment and headed to the back room.
When they arrived at the pigpen, they saw Peppa Pig kicking her legs on the ground, her body arched, and she was grunting and groaning, looking extremely uncomfortable.
The other boar, which had been moved to another pen, also became restless upon hearing the sow's cries.
Soon, the sow gave birth to her first piglet, which was completely white with no other colors.
Wang's wife immediately stepped forward and used a pre-prepared cotton cloth to clean its mouth and nose. Then, she used sterilized scissors to cut the umbilical cord and set it aside.
The sow continued to grunt, and then gave birth to four more piglets, all of which looked about the same size.
Xiang Wanwan helped from the sidelines, while also being pleasantly surprised.
"Sister-in-law, there really are five piglets! You're so accurate!"
Wang's wife was so happy she couldn't stop smiling.
"Two of these are mine!"
As soon as they finished speaking, the sow started grunting and kicking her body again. Lu Jingnian lit a lamp for them while reminding them:
"It seems there are still some."
Sister-in-law Wang immediately looked over and, sure enough, the sow started straining again.
A few minutes later, a spotted piglet covered in black spots slid out of the birth canal.
"There are still more!"
Xiang Wanwan was pleasantly surprised.
How can she have so many children?
The piglets had just been born when the sow gave birth to two more piglets in the next ten minutes before things gradually calmed down.
Xiang Wanwan and Wang Sao were shocked when they saw the eight piglets in the pigsty.
Eight in total!
She's incredibly prolific!
Aunt Wang looked on incredulously, her voice trembling with excitement: "Wanwan, I want three! Three!"
"They've produced so many! I've never had such a high yield when I was raising pigs before!"
