Granny Chen looked indignant. "Hmph, my son is a second lieutenant. Who looks down on whom is still up for debate!"
Those around her laughed and shook their heads, thinking that Granny Chen was indulging in wishful thinking.
That girl is a teacher, her father is a principal, and her sister is the wife of a high-ranking official. Why would she be interested in a mere second lieutenant?

Xiang Wanwan's words struck a chord with Li Jinglan.
Xiang Shuxue is getting on in years and has not yet married. If she delays any longer, it will only make it harder for her to find a husband.
