Chapter 116 Recruitment (2/2)

Everyone who heard it praised it highly.

"This is a good idea. I meet the requirements, so I'll draw first."

The woman stepped forward, pulled a slip of paper from a box, excitedly opened it, and handed it to Xiang Wanwan.

"Madam Chief, I can't read. What does this say? Did I win?"

Xiang Wanwan smiled and shook her head at her, "I'm sorry, Auntie, you didn't win."

Upon hearing this, the woman looked dejected.

Then everyone lined up to draw lots.

After drawing ten times in a row without winning, everyone began to doubt whether there was any real chance of winning, and whether it was just a deliberate scam.

At this moment, Granny Chen rolled up her sleeves and stepped forward, saying, "Let me do it, let me do it!"

When Aunt Sun saw her, she quickly stopped her.

"Hey Granny Chen, how dare you even show your face here!"

"Why can't I come? Didn't they say that as long as you meet the requirements, you can enter the draw?"

Sister-in-law Sun and the others around her burst into laughter.

Aunt Sun: "Look at these conditions yourself, do you meet them? Are you honest and law-abiding?"

"Exactly, haven't you heard people say that you don't want people who are dishonest and cunning?"

Old Mrs. Chen put her hands on her hips and retorted, "Where have I been dishonest! You people just can't stand to see me doing well."

After she finished speaking, she reached into the box to draw a lot.

Suddenly, Xiang Wanwan took the box away, leaving Granny Chen empty-handed.

"I'm sorry, Aunt Chen, you don't meet our requirements."

Granny Chen was completely humiliated. She glared at Xiang Wanwan and said angrily, "Hmph, I don't want to work for you anyway."

"Isn't he just a watchdog?"

As soon as she said that, everyone's face darkened.

Does this mean whoever draws the winning ticket is the watchdog?

Granny Chen walked outside cursing, when someone in the crowd tripped her, and she fell flat on her face.

Everyone burst into laughter.

She staggered to her feet, hastily wiping the dirt off her face. "What's so funny?"

"If they open a pig farm, and then get swine fever, won't they all die?"

Upon hearing this, Xiang Wanwan's face darkened, and she called out to Granny Chen.

“Aunt Chen, everyone heard what you said today. If anything happens to my pig farm in the future, I’ll be looking for you first.”

Granny Chen turned to look at Xiang Wanwan, her palms sweating with fear at her sharp gaze.

"What does it have to do with me! Even if something goes wrong, it's your own karma for doing too many bad things."

"If there really is retribution, shouldn't the retribution come to you first, given how you treated your daughter-in-law before?"

Seeing Xiang Wanwan's cold smile, Granny Chen felt a chill run down her spine and immediately turned and left.

After the person left, everyone continued drawing lots.

In the end, it was Sister Sun who drew the winning number.

Xiang Wanwan and Sister Wang both felt it was quite a coincidence. Although they also favored Sister Sun, there were so many people here that they couldn't just make a decision directly.

However, to everyone's surprise, it was Sister Sun who won in the end.

Those who didn't get selected naturally had long faces.

Seeing this, Xiang Wanwan comforted them, "Don't be discouraged, ladies. As the pig farm grows bigger, we'll hire more workers, and you'll have more opportunities."

"Besides, I'll need to find people to help me with my pork jerky later, so there are still plenty of opportunities."

After hearing this, everyone's expressions finally improved.

If this doesn't work, they refuse to believe they won't win next time! (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
