Chapter 94: Alone in the Forest

After all the concubines had left, Su Jingyao stood there quietly without saying a word.

Jun Zechen hugged her into his arms and asked softly, "Yaoyao is scared?"

Su Jingyao shook her head gently. "I just don't know how to feel. I'm also surprised that Concubine Ling would risk her own life to save me."

She looked at Jun Zechen with a somewhat bewildered look, as if seeking some answer.

Jun Zechen felt a pang of heartache. He knew the confusion and struggle in her heart. After all, she had lost her child because of Concubine Ling before, but today Concubine Ling saved her. Such a contradictory situation was indeed hard to let go.

"Don't overthink it, Yaoyao. I will thoroughly investigate today's incident. If Concubine Ling didn't interfere and sincerely saved Yaoyao, I will definitely reward her accordingly. Yaoyao, there's no need to dwell on it."

Su Jingyao nodded gently and lowered her head slightly.

However, a hint of cruelty quietly flashed in his lowered eyes.

Concubine Ling has become smarter. She even knew to involve Concubine Lin in her competition. Ha, how ridiculous.

Jun Zechen noticed that she seemed still a little unhappy, so he pinched her pink face lovingly.

"Okay, I'll take you hunting."

After saying that, Jun Zechen took her hand and walked to the majestic Snow Phoenix. He supported her and let her ride on it steadily.

Afterwards, the two men rode their horses slowly towards the other direction of the dense forest, where no participating teams would pass by.

Jun Zechen's guards always followed behind them like a shadow, protecting their safety at all times.

On the third day after arriving at Chunshu Pass, Su Jingyao stepped into this dense forest for the first time. Her face was full of novelty and her eyes were shining with excitement.

In modern times, living in the city, I have never seen such a primitive jungle with tall and straight trees.

Even when entering, I always felt a faint eerie atmosphere around me, as if a large beast would suddenly jump out at any time.

A pair of big watery eyes kept looking around, full of curiosity and exploration.

Jun Zechen was relieved to see that she had returned to normal. He didn't want to go out with her today, but what just happened affected his good mood.

"Your Majesty, if a wild beast suddenly emerges from this jungle and attacks us, wouldn't it be very dangerous? I am a little scared."

Su Jingyao frowned slightly, a hint of timidity showing on her face, and her delicate hands tightly grasped the reins.

Jun Zechen gently took her hand and pulled the reins lightly, bringing the two horses closer.

"If wild beasts really come out, I will definitely shoot them one by one. Yaoyao, don't you believe me?"

As soon as he finished speaking, Su Jingyao saw a deer suddenly rush out in front of her, and her eyes lit up instantly.

Turning to look at Jun Zechen, his face was full of surprise, "Your Majesty, Deer!"

Jun Zechen looked in the direction of her finger, his eyes instantly became sharp. He quickly took out the arrow, drew the bow and arrow, and with a "whoosh", the arrow shot out and the prey fell down instantly.

It was the first time that Su Jingyao witnessed ancient people hunting, and she felt extremely curious.

In the past, in modern times, we had only seen it as a target for athletes to shoot in the arena.

"That's amazing." She couldn't help but exclaim in admiration.

"Yaoyao, do you want to try it?" Jun Zechen looked at her with a smile.

Su Jingyao nodded vigorously, and the guards behind her hurried forward with the bow and arrow that Jun Zechen had prepared for her.

This set of bows and arrows was obviously much lighter, and she could lift it easily.

Su Jingyao reached out to take the bow and arrow, and then Jun Zechen took her and continued to walk deeper into the dense forest.

Suddenly, they saw a hare squatting quietly in front of them foraging. They were still some distance away from the hare, and the hare had not noticed their approach.

Su Jingyao took a deep breath, held her breath, and looked at Jun Zechen with anticipation in her bright big eyes. She blinked playfully, and then her two curved eyebrows flexibly signaled to Jun Zechen.

She was going to shoot that rabbit!

Jun Zechen looked at her lively expression and couldn't help laughing. How could she be so cute?

Su Jingyao placed the arrow, then narrowed one eye slightly, tightly pulled the bowstring with one hand, and held the bow firmly with the other hand. Even though she couldn't do it, her posture was handsome.

She pulled the bow with all her strength, then let go, and the arrow shot out, her eyes staring ahead with anticipation.

Jun Zechen, who was standing by, saw the direction and strength of her arrow and knew in his heart that she would definitely miss.

So he quickly shot an arrow according to her rhythm.

His arrow and Su Jingyao's arrow actually hit the hare's leg together!

Su Jingyao first looked at the injured rabbit, then turned her head to look at Jun Zechen, her little mouth slightly pouted with a hint of anger.

"Your Majesty, this makes me look so useless."

Jun Zechen couldn't help but chuckle, his eyes full of tenderness and doting, "No way, this hare was shot by Yaoyao, Yaoyao is very powerful."

Afterwards, Jun Zechen took Su Jingyao for a walk in the dense forest for nearly half an hour and shot a lot of small animals.

Jun Zechen didn't feel tired yet, but Su Jingyao was extremely exhausted.

She frowned slightly and said to Jun Zechen in a coquettish manner, "Your Majesty, I am tired. Let's go back to the tent."

As she spoke, she raised the bow and arrow in her hand with great effort, as if to indicate that she really could not hold it anymore.
