Chapter 15 First Encounter

Chapter 15 First Encounter

Li Zheng looked at the woman lying on the ground, covered in scars, and she would never wake up again.

Li Zheng pushed the cart towards the woods. Now she could no longer walk with the refugees, so she planned to take a detour and go directly to Taiyuan Prefecture.

Call her hypocritical, call her selfish, but she clearly had the power to save those people, so why did she stand there and do nothing? Honestly, she was afraid, horrified by the refugees' lack of humanity. From the moment she arrived in this time and space, she had a place to herself, though she hadn't realized it, she hadn't integrated into this world, living her life as a bystander. But today's bloody lesson had made it clear to her that this was the reality of this cruel era.

Li Zheng's mood also began to change from this time, and her eyes became more determined.

Li Zheng pushed the cart deep into the woods, intending to stay there for a few days to perfect his swordsmanship before leaving.

At night, Li Zheng picked up the knife. His blade was sharp and his moves were smooth and flowing without any hesitation. Each cut was accompanied by a gust of wind. But today, the blade was particularly sharp, as if venting something. "Bang." Looking at the knife stuck in the tree, his palm was slightly numb. "Ah, what am I doing?"

"Brother Bao, what do you want to eat tonight?" Let's eat something to divert our attention.

"Sister, I want to eat braised pork." I haven't eaten braised pork for a long time, and I'm even hungrier after practicing martial arts just now.

"Okay." She was craving for food. "Come, have some cakes first to fill your stomach. I'll go get some firewood. I'll make some vegetable soup with rice." Although there was food in the space, she hadn't prepared anything to cook. Fortunately, firewood was the most abundant thing now, so she could just pick some up.

Li Zheng gathered a pile of firewood and stacked them together. When she heard Baoger calling her, she responded and was about to carry the firewood back, but at this moment her feet were grabbed tightly.

"Who?" Li Zheng saw a man's hand holding her ankle. She struggled to break free from the restraints, but the man used great strength, as if the only way to get rid of him was to cut off his hand.

"Sister, what's wrong?" Baoger hurried over when he saw that Li Zheng was acting strangely.

"Brother Bao, don't come over!" But Brother Bao had already arrived.

"Sister, he seems to be injured." Baoger looked at the man lying on the ground, covered in blood.

Li Zheng then looked at the person on the ground. He was wearing a blue robe, but it was all torn and covered with wounds. His whole body was buried under a pile of leaves. She could not see his face clearly, but only a pair of eyes staring at her.

Li Zheng moved her legs. "Can you let me go?"

The man didn't say anything, nor did he let go, and his meaning was very clear.

Looking into his eyes, what kind of eyes are these? Their gaze is deep and firm, and they are calm and composed. However, Li Zheng instinctively knows that this man has a strong will to survive. "I want to save you, but if you don't let go, how can I save you?"

Sure enough, when she said she would save him, the man's hand loosened.

"Brother Bao, go to the car and prepare the powder and cloth."

"Okay." Baoger had been following Li Zheng for so long that he knew some methods of treating illnesses.

Li Zheng walked directly to the man, hugged him from the back and the front, and dragged him out from under his arms. When dragging him out, Li Zheng felt that the man was really thin and had no weight on his body. She could only feel his bones. After dragging the whole body out, she found that the man's legs were twisted in an unnatural state. Who was so cruel to let him starve to death?

"Sister, here."

Li Zheng asked the man to lean against the car and fed him some sugar and salt water. The moment he drank it, the man frowned slightly, very subtly and no one noticed.

It was obvious that this man hadn't eaten or drunk anything in days. He starved to death before anyone else could treat him. Li Zheng reached out to untie the man's clothes and could clearly feel him stiffen. "I'm taking off your clothes so I can treat your wound. Besides, your clothes are so dirty, it's not good for the wound to get infected." The man nodded when he heard it, but his body still didn't relax.

Li Zheng unbuttoned his clothes and gasped at the sight of the man's wounds. Not a single piece of skin remained intact, and some of the wounds had turned white and rotten after not receiving treatment for several days. Li Zheng took out a dagger and some wine, "Brother Bao, turn your back and don't look."

"Oh, okay."

Li Zheng used alcohol to disinfect the knife and scraped off the rotten flesh. After scraping the rotten flesh, she sprinkled it with wound medicine and bandaged it with a clean cloth. Seeing the man sweating profusely, she thought to herself that he was really patient and didn't say a word. "Okay, you're done. I'm going to take off your pants and take a look at your legs."

The man shuddered even more when he heard this. Li Zheng didn't care and just took off his pants. Seeing the leg injury, he started to think about it. The man breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that his underwear was not taken off.

"Your leg is a little twisted, and it's been crooked for only a few days. I'm going to break it and then put it back together. Just bear with it." Although the man could bear it, it was better to say it out loud.

Li Zheng held the man's leg and pulled hard, then found the right position and connected it back. She sprinkled medicine powder on it and fixed it with a branch. She didn't hear the man say anything and felt a little sorry.

"Bao Ge'er" Li Zheng turned around and saw Bao Ge'er looking with his eyes open again, feeling helpless.

"Hehe, sister." He was curious, and his sister was so bold that she took off the man's clothes directly.

"Brother Bao, go get a basin of water and clean the parts of his body that aren't injured. I'll go make some soup first." I was so tired, exhausted, and hungry.

"Okay." This was the first time his sister gave him a task, besides studying and practicing martial arts.

Li Zheng still made vegetable and egg soup, brought out the braised pork, and took out three bowls of rice. She didn't try to hide it. After all, the man was so close to them that he must have heard their conversation and knew that they were powerful, otherwise he wouldn't have asked him for help. Besides, the man didn't have any martial arts skills, so if he had any bad intentions, she would just...

After the soup was cooked, Li Zheng took out a set of clothes from the space and handed it to Baoger. Fortunately, she had prepared men's clothes, otherwise she would have been naked.

"Sister, it's ready." Baoger came out from the back of the car and looked at the food. He was so hungry.

"Okay, help your sister and get a bowl to eat." The man was not able to move.

Li Zheng looked at the man's face. He had sharp eyebrows and bright eyes, and his face was as if carved by a knife. He was very handsome, the kind of handsome that was upright. If he hadn't been so thin, he would have looked even better.

"Sister, you think it looks good too, right?" Seeing that her sister had been staring at it for such a long time, she must be as stunned as herself.

"What nonsense are you talking about? Eat quickly." Li Zheng stuffed the soup into the man's hand and took half a bowl of rice with a few pieces of meat in it. It's not that she was stingy, but the man had been hungry for a long time and was injured, so he couldn't eat much. He should drink more soup.

The man looked at the vegetables in the bowl, his long eyelashes covering his eyes. Not knowing what he was thinking, he slowly picked up the bowl and brought it to his mouth.
