Chapter 31 Reorganization
Judging from their expressions, they probably feel the same as me.
After dinner, Li Zheng decided to go to the clothing store to buy some clothes. The clothes she had worn before were all worn out and out of fashion here, so she had to adapt to local customs. She also went to the bookstore to buy some brushes, ink, paper, and inkstone for Bao Ge'er. They were really expensive! It seemed she had to hurry up and make some money.
When I went to the market, I saw a wide variety of vegetables, including mushrooms and fungi. I bought some! I also saw river shrimp for sale, and they looked pretty big. I bought some! There's a lot of water in the south, so I don't know if there are crabs, crayfish, or anything like that. It would be nice if they had some other seafood.
"Sister, are you still buying it? My brother and I can't carry it."
"Well, let's go back first." Seeing that he was carrying so many bags, he couldn't bear it anymore. Forget it, maybe next time.
Gu Chengze breathed a sigh of relief when he saw her stop.
After returning home, Bao Ge'er took his things and went back to the house to read. Gu Chengze also picked up his sword and practiced outside the yard. Fortunately, the yard was big enough.
Li Zheng took the purchased vegetables back to the kitchen to cook. She didn’t eat much at noon, so she had to eat early in the evening. Besides, there were some dishes that she hadn’t eaten in the past few years, so she had to try them quickly.
I cleaned the mushrooms first and planned to make a mushroom sauce with the pork. It'd be delicious with noodles or steamed buns. I also made some shrimp paste from the shrimp I bought and saved some for stir-fried river shrimp tonight. I also bought some pork bones, which will definitely be delicious in braised pork ribs tonight. Oh, if only there were some chili peppers. I'll check the flower stall sometime, but I don't know if they have any now. By the way, I used them for viewing until the chili peppers are available.
At night, after dinner, Gu Chengze thought, this is what it means to eat!
…
The next morning, Li Zheng cooked a big pot of bone soup, intending to let the bricklayers drink it when they came. They didn't have lunch, so she had to show some appreciation. After all, it was still a bit cold in March, so warming up the body would be good.
When the bricklayers arrived, Li Zheng told them about her idea. Bricklayer Wang said, "This won't take much effort. The three of us can finish it today." With that, he brought two apprentices and started working. It seems that she had found the right person.
As the aroma in the kitchen grew stronger, Wang Shu, the apprentice of Wang the Bricklayer, felt his stomach growl. Wang Shu blushed with embarrassment and asked, "You kid, didn't you have breakfast?"
"I've eaten it, Master. It tastes so good." Wang Shu was only fifteen or sixteen years old, and he had a big appetite.
"Master, you know what, I feel a little hungry just by smelling this." This is Li Wei, the eldest apprentice of Wang the Bricklayer, who is about to graduate.
"You guys are really..." Although he smelled good too.
"Master Wang, take a break. I made some bone soup. It's still a little cold today, so you can drink some to warm yourself up." Li Zheng brought over a bucket and took three bowls.
"Hey, kid, forget it. I won't be polite with you. It smelled delicious just now. It's just right for me to satisfy my craving." He didn't hesitate to take a bowl and scooped a bowl. He didn't mind the heat and took a sip directly. "Hey, it's delicious. I have made it at home, but it's not as fragrant or as delicious as yours."
Seeing their master drinking, Li Wei and Wang Shu quickly took their bowls and started drinking as well.
"Master Wang, it's delicious, please have more. We just moved in and the kitchen isn't clean yet, so I can only make some soup." Li Zheng saw that they liked it very much and thought that she might be able to start a business. She also put a lot of effort into making this bone soup. Although it looks simple, the technique is very sophisticated.
By the afternoon, Master Wang and his team had finished their work. Li Zheng paid them their wages, looked at the wall that was still wet, thought for a while, and called Gu Chengze to come out and paint something on it.
"Paint on the wall?" He was a little shocked, as if no one had ever painted on the wall before.
"I'm not painting, I'm asking you to carve. And since we don't have any paint, just use your knife to draw some flowers or grass. Otherwise, the screen wall will look too empty."
"Okay." After understanding what she meant, Gu Chengze looked at the wall that had not yet dried. After thinking for a while, he picked up a branch and started painting. As for the sword, he was afraid that the wall would not be able to support it.
After finishing the painting, the yard looked much better than before, and people outside could also see what was going on inside. It was a very good method to block people's view.
Li Zheng looked at the cooked mushroom sauce and shrimp paste and tasted them. "Hmm, not bad. The shrimp paste was the freshest." She had originally planned to make it yesterday, but it took a while to cook, so she made it today.
When the cabinets and tables arrive tomorrow, there won’t be much left.
Looking at the paintings Gu Chengze had finished, I suddenly remembered that he seemed to have no money. All his clothes were burned at that time, and the money I gave him before should not be enough. I took a look at the space and there are only more than fifty taels left. Alas, he spent all his two years' savings on buying a house.
"Let's go, we still have to write when we get home."
"Let's play first!"
…
"Huh? Gu Chengze, what's going on outside?" Why is it so noisy at this time?
"You can call me Anzhi or brother." I have said it so many times, but no one calls me by my full name.
"Okay, okay, Brother Ze, isn't that enough? What happened outside?" An Zhi always felt that it was a bit difficult to call him brother, but he couldn't open his mouth to accept it, so he called him Brother Ze.
"The students from the private school are finishing their classes. Aren't there several private schools here? They all go home at this time."
She suddenly wondered, "Are there many students here?"
"It's a lot. Almost all the students in this area are here. What's wrong? What are you thinking about?" She wouldn't ask such a question for no reason.
"It's nothing. I'll tell you when I think about it. By the way, you can use this to exchange for money." She gave him two ginsengs that were over a hundred years old and two ganoderma lucidums that were over a hundred years old.
"Wouldn't it be better to keep this?" This medicinal herb is a hundred years old and is usually kept for saving lives.
"I have plenty! You can use it to exchange for money. Besides, you must have some money on you." After saying that, he turned around and went back to his room.
He looked at the herbs in his hand and put them away silently.
Li Zheng lay in bed, thinking about the many students here. She wondered if she could do business with them. The more she thought about it, the more excited she became. There was a room right next to the entrance. She could clean it up and make a window in the wall. It would be perfect for selling things, like a small shop, but she could still be at home, without having to go out. What could she sell? It was cold now, so she could sell some hot, convenient food. What would it be? Never mind, she thought, thinking about it later.
In the morning, Gu Chengze took the six prepared ceremonies of becoming a disciple and took Baoger's hand to go to Master Wang's house to become a disciple and attend school.
"Brother Bao, don't be nervous, just listen to your brother." He didn't know why he was a little nervous. He was afraid that the teacher would not accept him and he would not be able to go to school. It was impossible. Brother Bao was so smart, it was impossible. Now he understood the nervousness of those parents watching their children go to school.
"Sister, I know."
