Chapter 37 Outing
"Okay, Qin You, I haven't said anything. You've said everything." Oh, I don't know what this guy said. If I think about it further, I guess he is thinking of divorcing his wife again.
"I haven't married yet."
"If you haven't married yet, then where did you come from? Could it be the young lady who loves you?" Oh, having a good-looking face is really important. I am also good-looking, so why didn't anyone come to see me off?
"No, it's my fiancée." Gu Chengze didn't realize that his tone had become much gentler when he talked about his fiancée.
"Aren't you from the north? Did your fiancée come with you?"
"Um."
"Oh my God, your fiancée is still waiting for you in the city? Having a wife like this, it's really, really..." Deeply affectionate. Qin You sighed.
"Yes, Xiaoze, your fiancée is so good to you, we can't be those ungrateful people."
"Yes, I will." This life was given by her, of course he would.
…
In the morning, Li Zheng prepared everything and prepared two kites. With such nice weather, it was time to go out and have some fun.
"Is Baoger okay?" She looked towards Baoger's room, not knowing what he was doing.
"Here I come, here I come." Then he opened the door and ran out with a slingshot in his hand.
"Brother Bao, what are you doing with this?" Li Zheng looked confused.
"Let's play. Let's go, let's go, sister." Bao Ge'er looked excited. He hadn't had a good time since coming all the way here from the village! No wonder he was so excited.
"Okay, let's go for a walk." Since they were going out for fun, Li Zheng had made some travel plans. There was a lake not far from the city. I heard it had beautiful scenery, so I usually went there. And since they had a lot of stuff with them, they rented a carriage to take it there.
While in the carriage, I saw several carriages ahead of me, and there weren't that many things to taste.
"Uncle Li, why are there so many carriages today? Is there something wrong?" The coachman was a local and seemed to be more familiar with the situation.
"Ah, today is the fifteenth day of the lunar month, and they all went to Puguang Temple to burn incense."
"Oh, I see." So he was going to burn incense.
"Sister, is it fun to burn incense?" He had never been to a temple before! Seeing so many people going there, it must be fun.
"Well, let's go next time you have a break." The temple should look pretty good at this time.
The carriage stopped and started, moving forward slowly. Sometimes when it came to an uneven road, the carriage would shake a little, and Li Zheng and the other person sitting in the carriage were miserable.
After getting out of the car, Li Zheng looked at the scene before her: a turquoise lake with gently rippling water. Surrounding the lake was a flat meadow dotted with flowers, and nearby were willow trees, swaying gently. It was truly beautiful.
Li Zheng found a corner with a nice view, spread the prepared cloth on the ground under a tree, put her things aside, and lay down. It was so comfortable.
Bao Ge'er was seen playing something nearby. The lake was very big. Maybe because of the good weather, there were many people coming to play today. There were also boatmen on the lake. They would take people for a tour as long as they paid. She also saw a man and a woman getting on the boat. It seemed that the separation between men and women was not strict here.
Suddenly, he felt a breeze, "Brother Bao, the wind is coming, take the kite." Li Zheng grabbed the kite and began to shake it.
"Hey, here it comes." He quickly put down the slingshot and went to get his kite.
"Come on, Bao Ge'er, try it. Remember to pull the kite with your hands before letting it go. Okay, let's start." Li Zheng was flying the kite from behind while Bao Ge'er was pulling the string hard in front.
"Oh, sister, it fell." Looking at the kite slowly falling down, Baoger looked disappointed.
"It's okay, come again."
After doing this five or six times, Li Zheng looked at the centipede kite in the sky, swaying and flying in the sky, and Baoger, who was holding the string, couldn't help but let it go farther and farther.
After thinking about it, I decided to remind him, "Brother Bao, if you put it too high, the line will break."
"Yeah, I get it." Seeing that he obviously wasn't listening, I shook my head.
Li Zheng went back home to start cooking. She'd prepared a barbecue for a spring outing, complete with meat and vegetables. She'd even ordered this little grill from a blacksmith, and the charcoal. She started grilling the meat first. As expected, the cumin added to the meat was incredibly fragrant. She figured it would be a huge hit when she introduced it to her shop in the summer. She'd also pair it with sour plum soup, but she still needed help; she couldn't handle it all by herself.
"What's that in the sky outside?" A woman in a blue skirt with delicate patterns embroidered on her clothes, and even faintly visible gold thread, although there are not many pearl hairpins on her head, but all of them are exquisite. Her face looks a little tired as she looks out of the carriage window.
"Madam, you look like a centipede." The speaker was a maid dressed in light green.
"Centipede?"
"Mother, this must be something you do for fun." The speaker was a young man in a white robe. He had a soft voice and a handsome face, and he rode a horse to the carriage.
"Well, today is a good day to go out and play." Seeing that the centipede was tied with a string, it was probably made by humans for fun.
The carriage was swaying, and the man saw his mother's haggard face and said, "Mom, there's a lake just ahead. Let's go there and rest for a while."
She wanted to refuse, but the carriage rocked again, making her feel even more uncomfortable. "Okay, Lang'er, you can do whatever you want." She lowered the curtain and went in to rest.
The man rode up and gave an order.
"Snap." Listening to the sound of oil splashing from the barbecue, the fat was grilled to a golden and slightly charred color, and then a little bit of sugar was added to enhance the flavor, and a little bit of charcoal fire made it even more fragrant. People around could not help but look up frequently when they smelled the aroma.
"Is my sister okay?" Baoger smelled the fragrance and stopped flying the kite. He tied it to a tree and let it float in the wind.
"Okay, okay. Let's eat." She put the grilled skewers of meat on the plate, and also put chicken wings on it. Chicken wings were her favorite.
"Brother Bao, have some fruits. Don't eat meat all the time. If you get tired of it, drink some mint water." I don't see any bayberries or the like now, so I can't make sour plum soup, but the mint water tastes pretty good too.
"knew."
The chicken wings were grilled and I took a bite. They were tender and flavorful, a testament to the overnight marinade. However, eating too much grilled meat can be greasy, so I didn't bring much. I still had a few skewers. I also brought a grilled fish, which I bought from Mr. Wang. I don't know what kind it was, but it had few bones, making it perfect for grilling. I also prepared some pork jerky snacks, which was enough for me.
"Brother Bao, the chicken wings are ready. Just grill a fish." He put the whole fish on, brushed it with oil, and grilled it slowly over low heat. He also grilled a little eggplant, and that was it.
Li Zheng turned back to get some mint water when she saw a group of people resting not far behind her. There were three carriages, along with servants and guards. Although they were low-key, it was still clear that they were a wealthy family.
