Li Yan waved to Songzi who was squatting beside her, and the boy immediately led his sister to Li Yan.
Li Yan touched Niuniu's head and asked softly, "How do you feel? Are you still feeling uncomfortable?"
The little girl shook her head timidly.
Songzi: "Thank you for your help, my sister is much better today and no longer has a fever!"
Li Yan: "That's great. Let me take you back. I have something I want to discuss with your parents!"
Seeing Songzi's puzzled expression, Li Yan explained, "You saw what happened yesterday. We're afraid we don't have enough manpower right now. I'd like to ask your father and uncle if they're willing to follow us south!"
Songzi didn't expect this to be such a good thing, and her face turned red with excitement.
Li Yan smiled and said, "Let's go!"
Li Yan led everyone out of the inn and headed out of the city.
Just as they walked out of the city gate, a man suddenly rushed out from the side of the road and rushed towards the group, but was stopped by Yang Dalang who was quick-eyed and quick-handed!
Seeing the man rushing towards her, Songzi excitedly asked, "Daddy, why are you here?"
Upon hearing this, Yang Dalang relaxed his hold on Guo Dalang.
Guo Dalang rushed to his son's side and explained to the two children who were safe and sound, "Your mother was worried that you wouldn't know the way back after leaving the city, so she asked me to wait for you outside the city!"
He touched his little daughter's head again and asked happily: "How do you feel now, Niuniu? Are you still feeling uncomfortable? Daddy is here to take you home!" After that, he took his daughter from his son's arms.
Niu Niu obediently nestled in her father's arms. Guo Dalang held his daughter in his arms, and the worry that had been hanging in the air for the past two days finally came to an end!
Songzi, who was standing aside, pulled his father and said, "Dad, Master Li just told me that he wants to hire you and my uncle!"
Guo Dalang's heart warmed when he heard this: "Mr. Li, you saved our Niuniu's life. If there is anything I can do, just tell me!"
Li Yan first asked Guo Dalang: "I wonder if Uncle Guo and your family have any plans for the future?
Guo Dalang said with a bitter look on his face, "Where else can we go? For now, we can only stay in the mountains!"
Li Yan: "It's okay to stay in the mountains now, but if winter comes, how can the elderly and children bear it?"
Guo Dalang sighed helplessly: "Who said it wasn't true! At least I won't starve to death if I stay in this mountain!"
"Well, I'd like to hire you and your brother to accompany us on a cargo convoy to the south. Would you be willing?"
Guo Dalang said repeatedly: "Yes, yes, sir, we are willing."
Li Yan: "Since you are willing to follow us south, I can't let your family, women and children, stay in the mountains. If you leave without peace of mind, I won't be at ease either!"
Li Yan thought for a moment and said, "How about this? We'll rent a yard in the city and take your family in to stay before we leave. It'll be considered as an advance payment to you. What do you think of this arrangement?"
Guo Dalang didn't expect Li Yan to be so thoughtful. He dragged his two children to kneel down in front of Li Yan on the roadside, and said with red eyes: "Master, I really don't know how to thank you. I kowtow to you on behalf of my whole family!"
Li Yan hurriedly dodged and told General Yang to help the man up: "Uncle Guo, you don't have to do this. If you really want to thank me, just help me take care of the goods on the way!"
Guo Dalang patted his chest and promised, "I will definitely live up to your trust!"
Li Yan looked at Guo Dalang, who had a serious expression on his face, and smiled, "Uncle Guo, go back and tell your family first. I'll let you know when we're ready to leave!"
Guo Dalang said goodbye to Li Yan and went home happily with his two children.
