Chapter 314: Chance Encounter

Li Yan: "Then I'll help Shopkeeper Qian pick these fruits when I get back. But Shopkeeper Qian, let's agree on the price beforehand. How much do you want per pound of these mountain reds?"

Shopkeeper Qian thought for a moment and replied, "Then I'll charge you two cents per pound. Is that okay with you?"

The fruit, which was originally ownerless, only took some effort: "Okay, then let's do as Shopkeeper Qian said!"

After the two of them had discussed it, Li Yan followed Wu and her aunt to the South City School.

When the three of them arrived outside the school gate, Li Dalang and Daya were sitting on a rock waiting for them.

Li Dalang saw that there were only about twenty or so candied haws left on the stick in his wife's hand and said in surprise, "You guys are selling very quickly!"

Li Yan smiled and nodded, then stepped forward and asked, "Uncle, have all the reserved candied haws been distributed?"

Li Dalang: "As soon as we arrived here, the servants from each household surrounded us. Fortunately, we were well prepared! We distributed the 200 skewers we ordered, and sold over 70 more. Now there are only a few dozen skewers left on a wooden stick!"

Mrs. Wu looked at the remaining candied haws and said, "Then we'll wait a while. After the students finish school, we'll sell these and go back!" No one had any objection.

After school was over, the students saw Li Yan and her group. Those who hadn't bought anything in the past two days rushed forward, fearing that if they were too late, they would be sold out again like yesterday!

With two more people today, Li Yan became a hands-off boss. She looked towards the entrance of the school, wanting to see if she could meet her cousin Yan from her uncle's family.

My mother has been talking about my uncle's house these days. If I could meet my cousin outside the school, I would ask about his recent situation.

Li Yan was thinking this in her heart, but she actually saw her cousin. Li Yan didn't care about Wu's group and immediately ran forward and called out to them, "Cousin Yan, wait a minute!"

The young man, deep in thought, did not hear Li Yan's call. It was not until Li Yan stopped the man breathlessly that Lin Yan noticed Li Yan.

Lin Yan asked in surprise: "Cousin, why are you here?"

Li Yan took a deep breath and pointed in the direction of Wu's group: "Cousin, we are here to sell candied haws!"

Lin Yan looked in the direction Li Yan pointed and couldn't help but smile: "So you guys are selling the candied haws that everyone in the school has been talking about these past two days?"

Li Yan couldn't help but ask, "Cousin, have you tried it?"

Lin Yan shook his head. He was a person who did not care much about food. He just listened to the conversation of his classmates and friends and then continued to immerse himself in his books!

Li Yan: "That's perfect, cousin, come and try it!"

Lin Yan couldn't refuse, so Li Yan grabbed his sleeve and brought him to Wu. "Grandma, this is my eldest uncle's cousin. He also studies in this academy! I just happened to meet him!"

Mrs. Wu said lovingly, "Brother Yan, I haven't seen you for a long time. You seem to have grown taller! Come with us today and let your aunt see you!"

Lin Yan greeted everyone one by one and declined, "Mother-in-law, I won't go today. My father is waiting for me to go back to test my homework. If I don't come back for a long time, they will be worried!"

After hearing what he said, Mrs. Wu decided not to try to keep him any longer. She thought to herself that if her own child did not return home for a long time after school, his parents would surely be worried!

Mrs. Wu took the remaining five or six strings of candied haws from the straw and stuffed them into Lin Yan's hands. "You're such a sensible child! Take these candied haws back and eat them! I won't let you stay here any longer!"

Lin Yan raised his hand to refuse, but Li Yan persuaded him, "They are just some snacks. If you don't like them, please bring some to my cousin. She will definitely like them!"

When Lin Yan heard Li Yan's words, he thought of his naughty sister and couldn't help but smile: "Thank you very much, cousin! If you have time, please come to my house and visit. Mother has been talking about you these past two days!"

Li Yan nodded repeatedly in agreement!
