Chapter 65 Buying Fabric

Li Jianmin seemed to have heard a familiar voice. When he looked up, he found that it was his younger brother. He looked up and signaled his younger sister to wait for him.

Daya here also saw the instructions from her eldest brother, and helplessly stood next to the restaurant with her younger brother in her arms, scolding the little guy for disturbing her eldest brother's work.

After Li Jianmin arranged for the guests, he ran to the door and saw three people standing at the corner. He stepped forward and asked, "Why are you in town today? Is everything okay at home?"

"I have nothing to do today, so I brought them to the town for a walk. Brother, you go and do your work first. We will walk around for a while and then go back!" Li Yan explained.

Li Jianmin felt relieved when he heard his cousin say this. He took out a small cloth bag from his bosom and stuffed it into Daya's hand: "This is my wages for this period of time and some rewards from the shopkeeper. I don't have time to go back, so please give it to my grandparents for me!"

Without waiting for his sister's answer, Li Jianmin returned to the restaurant.

Maomao nimbly grabbed the small cloth bag, shook it and took out a small silver coin from it. Daya hurriedly snatched it from her younger brother's hand and carefully put it back into the purse.

Li Yan looked at her cousin who had already walked away and said to Daya, "Keep it for now and give it to grandpa and grandma when we get back!"

Daya then put away the silver and money, picked up her younger brother, and the three of them went to the embroidery shop.

As soon as she walked into the embroidery shop, the shopkeeper was talking to two middle-aged women. From their conversation, Li Yan understood that the two were there to sell embroidery.

When the two women heard that the handkerchiefs were not accepted, they turned around and left helplessly.

After seeing the two off, Madam Zhou gave Li Yan a helpless smile.

Everyone has been having a hard time recently. There are many people coming to sell embroidery, but few come to buy things, she said, shaking her head.

Seeing the current situation, Li Yan didn't plan to sell any new patterns. She just took out the dozen handkerchiefs she had taken away last time and handed them to Madam Zhou: "This is what I embroidered when I brought it back from here last time. I'm sorry it took so long to bring it to you!"

Madam Zhou took it and said, "Business used to be pretty good, but since the autumn harvest, it has become increasingly slow. You saw it just now!" She couldn't help but sigh after saying that.

Business in the shop was indeed not as good as it was a month ago. The atmosphere between the few people seemed a little heavy. Li Yan pointed at the blue ready-made clothes behind Madam Zhou and asked, "Auntie Zhou, are you selling this?"

Upon hearing this, Madam Zhou immediately took the clothes and handed them to Li Yan. The navy blue material was good and it made her look very energetic when she wore it.

Although her savings are getting less and less, it does not stop Li Yan from wanting to buy new clothes at this moment!

Daya was afraid that Li Yan would really buy the clothes. She pulled her cousin, shook her head and whispered to Li Yan, "Grandma will scold me!"

Li Yan couldn't help but feel a headache. After thinking for a while, she changed to the other side of the cloth and asked, "Auntie, how much is this cloth?"

Madam Zhou immediately took out several pieces of cloth of different colors and placed them on the counter for Li Yan to choose from.

Seeing that her cousin was determined to buy it, Daya had no choice but to go forward and help her choose.

Li Yan didn't know how much cloth an adult needed to make a new piece of clothing, so she asked, "Auntie, I want to make ten pieces of clothing. How much cloth do I need?"

After asking who would wear them, Madam Zhou took out a few rolls of cloth of different colors for Li Yan to choose from. "Pick a color, and I'll tailor it to your body shape! I'll make sure it fits you perfectly!"

Daya pulled her cousin and asked why she wanted to buy so much fabric all of a sudden?

Li Yan explained to her cousin, "Last time, my grandparents and uncle helped us build a house and didn't charge us for it. I bought some fabric, so I have to include you guys in the bill!"
