When Xu Ning woke up, it was already around three or four in the afternoon.
Xu Ning was sleeping soundly and didn't even notice that some of the wild ducks she had scared away had returned.
Until Xu Ning stretched, he slowly walked towards the lake with the pots and pans that had not been washed at noon.
She squatted by the lake, gently scrubbing the pots and dishes with the lake water, making crisp sounds.
The noise of washing the pot scared out the wild ducks that had just returned to their nests. They rushed out of the nests in panic, running frantically and quacking, as if expressing their dissatisfaction.
Then, Xu Ning was splashed with water in the face by a wild duck that ran out when he was not paying attention.
Xu Ning: ...
"Hey! You old lady are really hiding in the quilt. You made me laugh! Let me see how I will deal with you!" Xu Ning put the half-washed pot aside, exchanged it for a small boat and paddled to chase the group of wild ducks.
The wild ducks didn't expect that Xu Ning would actually chase them to their territory. They were so scared that they flew around on the water!
Their quacking sounds echoed across the lake, making the entire surface lively.
Xu Ning rowed the boat, chasing the wild ducks closely. She tried hard to control the boat, trying to get close to those cunning wild ducks, but every time she was about to catch them, they always managed to avoid her cleverly.
"Quack quack quack!!!" The wild ducks quacked, as if laughing at Xu Ning's clumsiness.
Xu Ning was unwilling to give up and continued to chase the wild ducks, constantly trying various methods to catch them. However, no matter how hard she tried, the wild ducks always managed to escape her pursuit easily.
As time passed, Xu Ning was exhausted and panting. She sat in the boat, looking at the lake in the distance, feeling helpless.
In the end, Xu Ning caught nothing except a few duck feathers that floated over.
Xu Ning lay completely flat in the boat, breathing heavily, blocking the still glaring sunlight with his left arm, and just let the boat drift in the center of the lake.
The wild ducks that Xu Ning had driven to various places began to slowly return to their own territory, quacking as if celebrating their victory.
Xu Ning lay quietly on the boat, enjoying this rare peaceful time.
Before long, the wild ducks also fell completely silent. These animals are quiet in the wild because their noises would easily attract carnivores.
After being frightened by Xu Ning, they became even quieter.
Xu Ning had a smile on her lips. The only sounds in her ears were the rippling of the lake water in the breeze, her breathing, and the rustling of leaves in the distance.
It was very peaceful, as if she was the only one left in the world. She felt a little lonely, but also very free. Xu Ning really liked the feeling at this moment.
The boat gradually stopped rocking and stopped quietly in the center of the lake.
Xu Ning relaxed his breathing, but his heartbeat was unusually clear at this moment.
"Thump, thump, thump"
"quack"
"Chirp"
"Quack"
Various sounds gradually sounded, like a symphony.
The sun had gone down, and the glaring sunlight was no longer visible. Xu Ning gently put his hands aside, and when he opened his eyes he saw the brilliant afterglow.
"It's the sunset, it's so beautiful." Xu Ning said softly.
She slowly opened her arms, as if to embrace everything.
The breeze also gently blew her hair at this moment. Xu Ning closed her eyes again, enjoying this moment of peace.
The boat floated slowly with the wind. In this quiet environment, time seemed to stop flowing. Xu Ning merged with nature and became a part of this beautiful scenery.
When she opened her eyes again, only the last ray of sunlight remained in the sky.
Xu Ning took a deep breath and slowly sat up. Looking at the calm lake, a thought suddenly came to his mind: "Bao, are there any large carnivores in this lake?"
"Hello player, there is a water snake at the seven o'clock position on your right hand side." The voice of the treasure chest sounded at the edge of his mind.
"Oh, forget it." Xu Ning sighed somewhat disappointedly. He had originally thought of going down for a swim to relax, but now he had to give up the idea.
Xu Ning was most afraid of snakes. She couldn't help but get goosebumps when she thought of the slippery snakes hiding in the lake.
So Xu Ning gave up his plan to spend the night on the boat and decided to go back to the shore where it would be safer.
The boat swayed back to the lakeside, and Xu Ning jumped easily and stood on solid ground.
She squatted down resignedly, picked up the half-washed pots and pans, and began to wash them carefully.
After washing, she refilled the small iron pot with clear lake water, carefully picked up the pot, and returned to the big rock where she had sat during her lunch break.
The pile of stones still lay there quietly, as if waiting for her return. Xu Ning dug out the ashes inside and quickly cleaned it up.
Then she skillfully lit a new fire, and the warm flames instantly illuminated the surrounding environment.
Xu Ning clapped his hands in satisfaction, brushed off the remaining dust on his hands, then carefully placed the small iron pot on the fire and started cooking.
While she was busy, she exchanged things with the treasure chest: "Bao, help me exchange a bag of snail noodles, two bags of braised duck feet, a braised egg and half a bunch of water spinach."
However, the voice of the treasure chest interrupted her: "Hello player, we don't have any water spinach here."
Whose system is good and sells half a bunch of water spinach?
"Then just give me a whole handful, and put the rest in the space."
Xu Ning took the water spinach that was still dripping with water and went to the lake. He simply rinsed it twice in the lake water, then cut it in half and placed it neatly in a porcelain basin.
