Chapter 26 Life is boring
After a while, Feng came back with a gloomy face. The bowl in her hand had been changed to a normal size, with half a bowl of broken rice in it.
Gu Tang walked forward and took a glance, still dissatisfied. There were five mouths to feed in the second house, and this little rice would not be enough even if it was cooked into thin porridge.
When Feng saw her like this, she knew that she was complaining about the little food, and she got angry again: "You asked for rice, and now I've given you rice, what else do you have to complain about? Go out and look at other families, which girls are as picky about food and drink as you, greedy and lazy?"
"Oh! This is really like a crow sitting on a pig's butt - it only sees the blackness of others but not its own!" Gu Tang raised his eyebrows and spoke in a long tone with a sarcastic tone.
She pointed at the main hall, then the east wing, and said with a venomous mouth: "In other people's families, there is no one like me who is picky about food and drink, greedy and lazy, nor is there anyone who has studied for decades but achieved nothing, and there is no family where the elders take the lead in secretly eating out!"
Mrs. Feng: …My breath is stuck in my chest, it’s so swollen and painful!
I’ll find someone tomorrow!
This little whore must be married off before the New Year!
If she stays like this for a few more years, she might die of anger at this little mouth!
Gu Tang was not satisfied and continued to yell at Feng: "It doesn't matter if you tell the truth or not, how much money my uncle and cousin spend every year. We are not blind, can't we do the math ourselves? Now we are just following you to ask for some rice, but we didn't expect that we have become the picky eaters, greedy and lazy!"
As she said this, she immediately turned her face away, dropped the broom in her hand, turned around and shouted towards the west wing: "Dad! Grandma is going to settle accounts with us, saying that we are picky about food and drink, greedy and lazy, and there is no one else like us in other families!"
Feng's face changed drastically, and she angrily and anxiously scolded: "You little whore who talks nonsense! I was talking about you! Why are you talking about your father?"
"I was raised by my father himself. If you say something about me, it's the same as saying something about my father! Haven't you heard this saying? 'You are what you are!'"
Gu Tang opened her mouth and retorted, her words implying the same thing, that she and her father are one, and if he said anything about her, he was talking about her father!
Feng was so angry that she couldn't speak, and her fingers were shaking as she pointed at Gu Tang.
Gu Tang rolled her eyes at her and ran towards the west wing, shouting as she ran, fearing that her father couldn't hear her.
Gu Lianshan, who was still teaching his son a lesson, heard Gu Tang's first call.
He said a few harsh words to his son and hurried out of the house.
Gu Tang just stood in the corridor and did not go into Gu Laian's room. She waited for her father to come out and then told him a story with exaggeration.
It was not enough to say all this, and he ended with an angry look on his face: "I finally see clearly that this is how our family is in grandma's eyes. In my opinion, there is no point in living like this, it is better to separate the family!"
After saying this, he walked into the kitchen.
Gu Lianshan had been beating and scolding his eldest son before, and had no idea what was going on between Gu Tang and Feng. After hearing what Gu Tang said, he believed it in his heart and his face drooped instantly.
He threw away the bolt in his hand, walked towards Feng, and yelled in dissatisfaction, showing no mercy to his own mother at all!
Seeing her son walking towards her with a grim expression on his face, Feng's eyes instantly turned red. She was really sad at this moment.
She wanted to cry and make a scene, but her husband beside her just glared at her with a sullen face, signaling her not to make a scene with her son anymore.
Feng was so frustrated that she couldn't get rid of it and angrily threw the bamboo bowl in her hand, spilling rice crumbs all over the floor.
Then she stepped on the broken rice, wiped her tears, and went back to the house to cry.
Mr. Gu was so angry that he closed his eyes and tried his best to take over the mess and explain to his son.
But Feng's behavior angered Gu Lianshan, who thought that his mother would rather scatter the rice on the ground and step on it than give it to his daughter. This made him lose his mind instantly and he started arguing with Old Man Gu.
Seeing that his son was going too far, Mr. Gu simply closed his eyes and performed his best trick again - pretending to faint!
Gu Lianshan shut up immediately.
He didn't think much about it for a moment, thinking that his father had been mad at him and had a chest pain again, so he could only hold back his anger and bring the man into the main room.
Gu Ping'an, who was lying at the kitchen door and peeking, turned back hurriedly to report the latest battle situation to Gu Tang, saying that his grandfather had fainted because of their father's anger again.
"Will something bad happen from getting angry?" Gu Ping'an was a little worried.
"What could possibly happen?" Gu Tang sat in front of the stove, warming himself by the fire, not taking it seriously. "Although the disease has indeed been diagnosed this time, the old man has often pretended to faint to scare people, but who knows if this is true or not?"
Gu Pingan nodded, yes.
In the words of the second sister, his grandfather was a habitual criminal and could not be trusted. As long as they stayed away from him, even if he really died, it would have nothing to do with them.
Gu Tang stood up and waved at him: "Go, scoop out some hot water and let it dry. I'll go back to the house and get two bags of cakes. Let's soak the cakes in hot water today. I don't want to touch that porridge again!"
"No, just eat the cakes by yourself. Dad and I will eat the porridge later..."
"What are you cooking? Others eat rice and meat, why should we eat porridge? From now on! I won't eat porridge, and neither will you and dad! Humph! Just wait and see, this matter is not over yet!"
Gu Tang sneered as he spoke, and walked out of the kitchen without stopping.
When Gu Ping'an saw his second sister laughing like that, his scalp couldn't help but feel numb. He immediately shut up and stopped talking, and started to scoop hot water quickly.
Not long after, Gu Tang came back with two bags of pastries.
Although the pastries here didn't taste good, the portions were quite large. Gu Tang opened a packet and she and Gu Ping'an shared the entire packet to fill their stomachs.
The remaining packet was left to her father.
Standing at the kitchen door, she glanced towards the main room and saw that her father had not come out yet.
From the main room, there were constant sounds of crying and quarreling.
Well, it seems that Feng has no other choice but to use tears to soften her father's attitude.
Unfortunately, it was too late. The rift between mother and son was destined to be irreparable.
After returning to the kitchen, he told Gu Ping'an to wait for their father to come back and eat cakes. Gu Tang scooped some hot water into a basin, then took it back to the room to wash up and go to bed.
His father stabbed Feng without mercy. Feng and Old Man Gu would probably have a sleepless night tonight.
The more Gu Tang thought about it, the happier he became. He couldn't help humming a little tune. He washed up happily, applied the skin care set provided by the system, and then went to bed.
In order to prevent a sudden drop in temperature at night, Gu Tang also put her fur coat on the fur blanket. No matter whether the temperature will drop tonight, she will definitely sleep well until dawn.
The only benefit of traveling back to ancient times is that you develop the habit of going to bed early.
Once it gets dark, there is nothing to do except sleep.
At first, Gu Tang was not used to the people here at all. He went to bed as soon as it got dark. But after four or five days, he gradually got used to it.
Early to bed and early to rise, this is much better than eating wolfberries like she did in her previous life!
