Lima Town
The person behind half the wall seemed to be frightened by Elena's aura. He fell to the ground, then froze for a moment, and then crawled out again.
Knight Captain Neil nodded at Andre beside him, and Andre immediately dismounted and walked towards the man.
"Who are you? What's going on here?" Andre put his hand on the hilt of the sword and stared at the man with sharp eyes.
The man lay on the ground, shaking, and answered.
But Andre didn't understand what he said.
Andre looked back at the captain somewhat embarrassedly.
Captain Neil thought for a moment and then pointed to another knight: "Victor, go over and ask."
Victor communicated with the man smoothly, but their words were full of strong local accents, and no one who was listening could understand a word.
Victor finished communicating and returned to Elena, replying, "My Lady, this person is the village chief. The village was recently invaded by the Flame Wolves. Fortunately, Lord Leonard arrived in time and rescued many people. They are hiding behind those houses."
Following the knight's words, Elena looked at the dilapidated or collapsed houses, and sure enough, she found people hiding in the corners of these houses.
Victor continued, "After Lord Leonard rescued the villagers and put out the fire, he went after the Flame Wolf."
He turned and pointed in a direction. "The village chief said that Lord Leonard was going this way, and Lord Leonard asked him to stay here to show us the way."
"Okay, then let's keep following." Elena immediately urged her horse to chase in that direction.
The knights hurried to follow.
After passing the village, there is no need to identify the direction ahead. It is very clear and there are traces of fire all the way.
This is the trace left by the Flame Wolf.
However, compared to the large-scale fire in the village, the traces here were controlled in a very small area, just the size of a small trail. It was probably because they were chased and beaten by Leonard that these fire wolves did not have time to set fire to the forest, but instead tried their best to escape.
Elena and the knights galloped along the path burned by fire.
After leaving the forest, there was a small river in front of her, and a familiar figure appeared in front of Elena.
Then she saw the scene in front of the man, which was a mountain on fire.
Red flames raged through the mountains and forests, dyeing almost half the sky red, and rolling heat waves hit us in the face.
"What's going on?" Elena asked Leonard.
Leonard didn't look back, still staring straight ahead. "It was already burning when I came here. The Flame Wolves are truly cunning monsters. They actually split into two groups, one heading towards your territory, and the other heading this way."
"Did you kill the Flame Wolf?" Elena pressed. "If you don't kill this arsonist monster, it will only cause more wildfires."
"Kill them." Leonard raised his hand and pointed towards the burning mountain. "Do you want to put out the fire?"
"Of course!" Elena answered affirmatively, and then urged Leonard, "Hurry up and help put out the fire."
With Elena's current level, she can't put out such a big wildfire.
"But that's not your territory, you don't have to worry about it," Leonard said.
Elena frowned: "Even if it's not my territory, I can't just watch the fire burn. This is a wildfire. If it's not put out in time, it won't just burn the mountain."
Leonard turned his head and looked at her, a faint smile in his eyes: "Okay."
A white sword energy shot up into the sky, as if it had a physical entity, 10 meters long, and thick magical elements gathered around the sword energy.
Leonard clasped his hands together, grasped the sword energy, and slashed forward.
A sword split the air, forming a huge vacuum zone. The raging wildfire was like a small cake candle, and the flames disappeared instantly.
Leonard swept horizontally again.
The river water was swept up by a waterspout, rising high up, and then pouring down into the mountains and forests like a sprinkler.
All the open and hidden fires were completely extinguished.
The unique smell after the fire is extinguished hits you in the face.
Elena held her breath. The smell was really unpleasant.
She raised her hand and fanned it gently in front of her nose, then turned to Leonard and asked, "By the way, where are the flame wolves?"
Leonard looked in one direction.
Elena looked over and found the corpse of a monster at the bottom of the river where half of the water had disappeared.
She walked closer and saw that there were more than a dozen of them.
The body was in the river, so...
"Did you drown them?" Elena asked.
Leonard hummed.
"Will drowning them in the river affect the fish, shrimps and shells in the river?" Elena asked worriedly.
Leonard suddenly fell silent.
Elena walked to the river, reached out her hand to the water, and dipped it carefully.
The river water is hot.
Elena looked at Leonard. Leonard's eyes looked a little weak and he looked up at the sky.
Needless to say, the river water is hot, and the fish, shrimps, and shellfish in it are probably cooked.
Seeing Leonard looking up at the sky and avoiding the question like a child, Elena almost laughed out loud, but she quickly held it back and comforted him instead.
"It's okay. This river is full of living water. After a while, the fish, shrimps, and shellfish brought down from upstream will bring the river back to life."
Leonard looked at her.
Elena pointed to the dozen or so Flame Wolf corpses in the river and said, "Let's take these monsters with us now. Let's go find the lord over there."
The small town of Lima.
This is a very small town, together with three surrounding villages, belonging to a baron.
Led by the guards, Elena, Leonard and their group arrived at the Baron's manor.
Coincidentally, when Elena and the others arrived, the Baron's family was arguing. Although they were standing outside the manor, waiting for notification from inside, the two of them, Elena was a low-level mage, and Leonard was a golden knight. With their hearing ability, this small distance was completely negligible, and they could hear the quarrel inside clearly just standing at the door of the manor.
Since you have nothing to do anyway, just listen to it.
Elena's curiosity overcame her sense of morality, and she pricked up her ears to eavesdrop.
Leonard saw how focused Elena was and knew what she was doing. He glared at her disapprovingly, but Elena turned around and pretended not to see it.
"I don't agree. I don't want this village. I want the village on the other side of the river." A man's voice.
"I've given you a village, and you still want to pick? According to the inheritance law, you wouldn't be able to get a village at all, if your father hadn't doted on you..." another man's voice.
"Spoil me? You gave me nothing except a poor village in a remote area." The voice of the man from before.
"Then I'll give you another 5 gold coins." An older man's voice sounded soft-tempered.
"Father!" This was the man who had previously said that the village should not be divided.
"No! I want the village on the other side of the river." The favored man was also angry.
"No! The territory bordering Field over there cannot be given to you!" This is the man who said that the village should not be divided.
Field!
Elena's ears stood up even more. Were they mentioning her territory?
At this time, the quarrel inside stopped and someone reported.
"Master, Miss Viscount Field is waiting outside."
After two seconds of silence, there was a long series of clanging sounds of objects being placed.
Elena straightened her clothes and prepared to meet people.
There was a sound of running, and then the gate of the manor opened. Behind the door stood a middle-aged man, with six or seven other people standing behind him.
After a quick glance, the middle-aged man's eyes fell on Elena, because Elena was the only woman and was standing in the front.
"Miss Viscount Field?" the middle-aged man asked.
Elena nodded slightly: "I am."
The middle-aged man immediately saluted and said, "Hello, Miss Viscount. I am Harry, the master of this town."
Elena responded, "Hello, Baron Harry. Please forgive my intrusive visit."
For interactions between nobles, invitations and visiting cards are necessary procedures. Without them, it would be like going out without shoes, which is somewhat rude.
Baron Harry smiled generously and said, "It's an honor for me to have you visit me."
He turned around and said, "Welcome, please come in."
"Thank you." Elena thanked him and walked into the manor, followed by Leonard.
Elena's knights consciously guarded the gate of the manor.
In the living room, Baron Harry and Elena exchanged pleasantries and went through the procedures, and then Elena directly stated the purpose of her visit.
"I was originally out for a horseback ride today, but I discovered that the Flame Wolves attacked and burned down a village." Elena gestured to Leonard.
Leonard took out the body of a flame wolf from the space ring.
Baron Harry was shocked when he saw the body of the Flame Wolf.
The Flame Wolf is a level 5 magical beast, and it always attacks in groups. The joint attack of a group of level 5 magical beasts is very terrifying, and even a mid-level magician cannot withstand it. And Miss Viscount Field, she actually killed a Flame Wolf, no, wait.
Baron Harry suddenly remembered that he had vaguely heard a rumor that there was a golden knight in the territory of Viscountess Field?
Baron Harry's eyes were fixed on Leonard.
Could it be this man?
Elena introduced him: "This is Lord Leonard of the Four Fields Meteor. Lord Leonard has just been promoted to demigod."
It really is this gentleman!
Ah, promoted to demigod!
Baron Harry suddenly felt that this man was extraordinary and heroic, like a god descending from the sky, with an aura of dominance that made people dare not look directly at him.
Baron Harry immediately stood up and stood respectfully before Leonard, saluting him. "Harry greets you, sir. May your military conquests be boundless and your British conquests forever victorious."
Leonard nodded slightly without saying anything.
Elena knew Leonard was impatient with such worldly attentions, so she continued, "Leonard chased the Flame Wolf and discovered that there were also traces of Flame Wolves on the other side of the village, and they had even burned an entire mountain."
Baron Harry was stunned for a moment, then realized: "Are you talking about the land across the river that borders your territory?"
"Yes." Elena nodded.
With this "yes", the expressions of Baron Harry and his family quickly turned sour.
The baron's territory was not large, so burning a mountain would have a great impact on them. Moreover, wildfires were extremely difficult to extinguish. Once a mountain wind blew, the wind would take advantage of the fire and it was likely to burn several mountains in a row.
It's over.
Elena added: "Please don't worry, we had already put out the wildfire before we arrived."
Baron Harry's expression was obviously better, and his family behind him also breathed a sigh of relief.
Baron Harry saluted Leonard again with gratitude: "Thank you for your help, my Lord. My people and I are grateful to you. We will always remember your kindness."
Leonard: "You're welcome, it's just a small matter."
Leonard shot Elena a look.
Elena immediately understood and said, "We came here today to inform you of this matter so that you can be prepared and take action as soon as possible."
After saying that, Elena and Leonard stood up at the same time.
Lord Harry: What happened?
Elena said, "We have informed you of the matter, so we will say goodbye and go back."
Lord Harry:!!!
"No, no, no, Lord Leonard, Miss Viscount, you have helped me so much, killing the Flame Wolf and putting out the wildfire. You are such a great favor, please allow me to entertain you for a few days. Although my territory is small, there are still many places to visit. Please stay for a few days and let me express my gratitude." Baron Harry hurriedly tried to keep you.
Elena smiled but shook her head: "No, I still have a village to deal with. All the houses and fields in the village have been burned down. As a lord, I must go back and resettle my people."
Despite Baron Harry's repeated attempts to keep them, Elena and Leonard were determined to leave.
"In that case, Lord Leonard and Miss Viscount, please allow me to see you off." Baron Harry saw that he could not keep them and had to see them off himself.
"Father, let me go." A man behind Baron Harry said quickly, "The road there is difficult to walk on. You are old and in poor health, so I'll go."
Baron Harry looked back at him, thought for a moment, and said to Leonard and Elena, "Lord Leonard, Viscountess, this is my eldest son, Reid. Please allow him to take you back."
Elena nodded and agreed.
The group set out for the border between the two territories.
Because there was an outsider, Elena and Leonard didn't talk much on the way, but just focused on getting on with their journey.
Reid's expression was much richer, changing all the time along the way, and I don't know what he was thinking.
Finally, when they arrived at the half-bald mountain that was burned by fire, Reid took the initiative to find Elena.
"Miss Viscount, I have something I want to discuss with you."
