Chapter 11 First Hunt Success

Chapter 11 First Hunt Success

Liu Ye ate a cucumber and a tomato before emerging from her spatial dimension. She reached out and a wood-chopping knife appeared in her hand. The chicken leg Brother Bai had given her yesterday was delicious; she hadn't had enough. She wanted to try her luck in the deep mountains. If she couldn't catch a pheasant, catching a rabbit would do. Anyway, she had her spatial dimension; if she encountered a wolf, she could simply enter it.

And so, Liu Ye, carrying a kitchen knife, walked along the stream into the deep mountains. There were many wild vegetables on both sides of the stream, so she simply took out a basket from her spatial storage and picked them as she walked, gathering quite a few wild vegetables.

An hour later, Liu Ye felt that she had walked enough. It must be deep in the mountains, because there were no more paths. All around were thick trees that blocked out the sun, making it stuffy and hot.

Suddenly, a strange noise came from the bushes. Liu Ye rushed over with her machete in hand, quickly parted the bushes, and saw a fat, large rabbit. She raised her machete and slashed at the rabbit, but the rabbit suddenly leaped far away and was about to run away. At the critical moment, she quickly waved her hand at the rabbit, and the rabbit disappeared into thin air.

Liu Ye wiped the sweat from her face. Luckily, she was wise enough to think of the space at the crucial moment. "Haha, now she'll have rabbits to eat."

Liu Ye was overjoyed with her first successful hunt and wanted to venture further in to see if she could find any pheasants. She had heard that rabbits had an earthy taste, and that chicken was much tastier.

Suddenly, she saw a large chestnut tree in front of her. Overjoyed, she immediately ran over. "Wow, a chestnut tree!" However, there weren't many chestnuts on it. No problem, she could plant them in her space.

Without hesitation, she waved her hand and put the chestnut tree into her spatial storage. She clapped her hands and was about to continue walking forward when she suddenly stopped. Oh no, there was something behind her. She had a feeling that she was being watched by a wild beast!

A foul, fishy smell suddenly burst forth from the bushes and pounced on Liu Ye, who was standing with her back turned. Liu Ye quickly turned around and waved her hand, and at the same time saw what was attacking her. It turned out to be a wild boar. The wild boar disappeared instantly and was stored in her spatial storage.

Startled, she plopped down on the ground, exclaiming, "Oh my god, that's so damn scary! What a terrifying wild boar!"

Fortunately, she reacted quickly, otherwise she would have become wild boar food!

Liu Ye quickly got up from the ground and walked down the mountain along the path she had come from. It was almost time. If she couldn't find a pheasant, so be it. She had caught a rabbit and a wild boar. It was a very successful haul. No wonder people say that fortune favors the bold. She had risked her life to eat pork.

"Plop plop!" Willow Leaf watched as a pheasant flew out of the grass. Her eyes lit up, and with a wave of her hand, she put the pheasant into her spatial storage. Now she had a pheasant too! Her luck was too good! Indeed, those who could transmigrate were all blessed women. "Hahaha, Meimei-san, keep babbling, a bunch of glass marbles, la la la la, la la la la la."

Liu Ye happily hummed a song as she walked down the mountain, and soon arrived at the stream. It was well past noon, probably around two or three in the afternoon.

She sat on a rock, emptied the wild vegetables from the basket, washed them clean in the river, and then slipped into her spatial dimension.

Using Luquan water to wash vegetables is too wasteful, she couldn't bear to do it. As soon as she entered the space, she saw a wild boar lying on the ground. It was fat and big, like an adult male boar, with two sharp teeth on its mouth, which looked quite frightening.

Liu Ye shrank her neck, feeling a little scared. Luckily, she reacted quickly. There was a rabbit lying next to the wild boar, also a big, fat rabbit. Not far from the rabbit was a pheasant, which didn't look thin either. The chestnut tree had already been planted in the black soil.

She took off her basket and put it aside, then picked up the flint and steel from the ground. There were two flint and steel pieces; when you struck them together, they would produce sparks, which would then ignite the firewood.

Liu Ye looked up at the sky above the space. It was a clear blue sky, but there was no sun, no moon, and certainly no stars. She figured the space shouldn't be afraid of fire, right? Maybe she could try; if not, she'd go out and cook.

She went to the side and got some dry twigs and a handful of dry leaves, then lit them with a flint and steel. A minute passed, then two minutes, and the fire grew brighter and brighter.

It seemed fine. She added some more branches to the fire, making it burn even brighter. She found that the space remained unchanged. She was overjoyed. Great! If she could make a fire in the space, she could cook inside.

"Haha, that's great!" She quickly washed the pots and pans with the spiritual spring water, then placed the pot on the firewood pile to boil water. After the water boiled, she removed the pheasant's feathers, cleaned the pheasant, and started stewing it in the pot.

"Oh dear, this is bad! She forgot to steal the salt. Even the best food tastes bad without salt..."

Okay, it's edible without salt. The pheasant in the pot was cooked, so she pulled off a big chicken leg, took a small bite, and instantly won over her taste buds. Wow! It really is delicious without salt, so fragrant! The pheasant she stewed was so fragrant and delicious, it was absolutely amazing.

After Liu Ye finished eating a pheasant leg, she reached for another one and suddenly thought of Bai Zilin. Brother Bai had been good to her, so why not save a chicken leg for him? In relationships, it's only good if there's give and take; it's too selfish to just eat what others have and not share with them.

She went to the side and got a bowl, broke off the last chicken leg and put it in the bowl. After thinking for a moment, she broke off a chicken wing and put it in the bowl as well. After thinking for a moment, she ladled half a bowl of chicken soup into the bowl. Okay, one chicken leg and one chicken wing were enough for Brother Bai to eat, and the rest were all hers.

She's so skinny she's practically a stick, desperately needs a good boost of nutrition. Brother Bai is already an adult and so strong; just give him some food... (ω) Hey!

Liu Ye put the bowl aside and continued eating the chicken in the pot. She drank the last drop of broth, then rubbed her stomach, satisfied, and got up from the ground. She then flashed out of the space, only to find it pitch black outside.

Good heavens, it's already dark outside! She had to hurry down the mountain. She ran all the way back to the village, returned to the dilapidated house, and quickly climbed up the woodpile. She craned her neck to look at the neighbor's house, but after looking for a long time, no one came out of the Bai family's house. The lights were on inside, though.

"Hey, why isn't Brother Bai coming out yet? Is he not home?"

Suddenly, the door to the Bai family's house was pushed open from the inside and wouldn't budge. Uncle Bai came out of the house cursing and yelled at Bai Zilin's room: "You son of a bitch! I've raised you all these years for nothing, you damn Wen! Why didn't you just die in the mountains? What are you doing crawling back here? You beast! I've worked hard to save up half my life's money, and you've just emptied it all out! I'll fuck your grandma!"

Bai Wangshi quickly came out of the house and grabbed Uncle Bai's arm, pulling him back inside: "Husband, stop cursing! Let's go back inside. Zilin didn't want to be bitten by wolves either. Once he's healed, he can go hunting in the mountains. We'll make him earn back double the money we spent today. Husband, come back inside with me. You're the only scholar in our village. If people hear you cursing, they'll laugh at you."
