Chapter 376: Anger
I don't know when a dark cloud floated over the horizon, the sky darkened, and a strong wind blew by.
Everyone on the road started running. Bi He ran slower and failed to catch the carriage. She said to Jian Pingping against the wind, "Miss, we can't stop the carriage."
Jian Pingping was blinded by the wind. She wiped her face with her sleeve and said in a hoarse voice, "Let's walk home."
Bihe wanted to say that this place was a bit far, but Jian Pingping had already walked some distance, so she hurried to catch up.
After they walked for a cup of tea, a drop of rain fell, and soon, raindrops as big as beans fell down with a crackling sound.
The pedestrians on the road either quickened their pace or hid under the shops on the roadside. Only Jian Pingping and Bihe were still walking hurriedly.
Bi He used her sleeves to shield herself from the rain and tried to pull Jian Pingping away: "Miss, the rain is getting heavier. Let's go take shelter."
Jian Pingping didn't react at all and just walked forward.
Bihe stamped her feet, but there was nothing she could do but to quickly catch up.
Soon, both of their clothes were soaked and they could hardly see the road ahead, but Jian Pingping still walked forward stubbornly.
Bihe kept looking to the side, hoping to see a shop selling umbrellas, but after it rained for a while, even if there was a shop selling umbrellas, they had already sold out.
A carriage passed by and rain splashed all over the two men. They were already soaked, and now they were soaked like drowned rats.
Bi He couldn't help but turn around and curse: "Are you blind? Can't you see there are people on the side of the road?"
The coachman in a straw raincoat suddenly stopped the carriage and said something to the carriage. A man rushed out of the carriage and picked up Jian Pingping. Bihe was startled and hurried to stop him.
"It's raining so hard, and you're still walking in the rain. You don't want to live anymore." Doctor Murong scolded her angrily.
Bihe didn't know Doctor Murong and refused to let her take Jian Pingping away.
Jian Pingping was awakened by the argument between the two and found herself in Doctor Murong's arms, struggling to get down.
Doctor Murong forcibly pulled her into the carriage.
Seeing that Bihe was a little dazed, the coachman pushed her into the carriage.
Doctor Murong searched the carriage for a while and handed two handkerchiefs to Jian Pingping. "It's raining so hard and you don't have an umbrella. You should find a place to take shelter. How can you walk in the rain? What if you catch a cold?"
Jian Pingping held the handkerchief tightly and let Doctor Murong scold her without saying a word.
Bihe quickly took the handkerchief and wiped the water off Jian Pingping's face, and then wiped her clothes.
But the two of them had already been soaked by the heavy rain, and there was no dry place from inside to outside.
Jian Pingping said nothing and let Bihe wipe her.
Doctor Murong had already noticed something was wrong with Jian Pingping. He looked at Bi He and asked, "What happened to your young lady?"
Bihe felt sorry for Jian Pingping, but since it concerned her reputation, she didn't dare to bring it up. She just said that she was dazed by the heavy rain.
If Doctor Murong believed this, he would be like being drenched by a heavy rain.
He looked at the driver outside and said, "Tian Dong, go back to the medicine shop."
"Are you a doctor?" Bihe looked Doctor Murong up and down.
Doctor Murong nodded: "I am a doctor, and I know your young lady."
Bihe finally breathed a sigh of relief. She and the young lady were both soaked, and now they were cold and tired. They needed to find a place to rest, take a hot bath and drink a bowl of ginger soup, otherwise they would definitely catch a cold.
Doctor Murong asked where the two came from, and Bihe casually said that they went to Jian Pingping's uncle's house. When he asked again, Bihe shut her mouth and stopped talking.
It was raining heavily and the carriage had difficulty moving forward. It took them some time to reach the pharmacy.
Unexpectedly, Jian Pingping refused to get off the carriage and wanted to go home.
Bihe and Dr. Murong took turns persuading her, but she insisted on going home.
Doctor Murong gritted his teeth and glared at her for a long time, then looked outside: "Tian Dong, go to her house."
Under Bihe's command, it took them another quarter of an hour to reach Jian's house.
Doctor Murong handed the umbrella to Bihe and asked her to knock on the door, while he softly called Jian Pingping's name.
Jian Pingping closed her eyes at some point and only opened them after Doctor Murong called out to her a few times, her eyes full of confusion.
Doctor Murong sensed something was wrong and said, "I'm sorry."
He touched Jian Pingping's forehead, which was already starting to feel hot.
"Is the door open? Jian Pingping has a fever." Doctor Murong stuck his head out of the carriage and shouted.
Bihe knocked on the door louder. As soon as Aunt Qian opened the door, she immediately returned to the carriage with an umbrella: "Doctor, the door is open."
Jian Pingping was already a little unconscious, her body leaning limply against the carriage.
Doctor Murong didn't care about offending anyone. He picked up Jian Pingping and got off the carriage.
Bihe was startled, and Doctor Murong quickly said, "Lead the way, your young lady has a fever."
"What?" Bihe was startled, turned around and left, taking Doctor Murong into the Jian family.
Upon hearing the news, Jian Anan rushed over and saw a strange man holding her sister. She shouted, "Who are you? Put my sister down!"
"Master, the young lady has a fever. Here is the doctor." Bihe said without stopping.
"Fever?" Jian Anan followed them worriedly, and they entered Jian Pingping's bedroom.
Doctor Murong laid Jian Pingping on the stool and said to Bihe, "Change your young lady's clothes first. I'll send someone back to get the medicine right away."
Everyone else left the room, leaving only Bilian and Bihe to change Jian Pingping's clothes.
Doctor Murong looked at Jian Anan and said, "Do you have a pen at home? I want to write a prescription for your sister."
"Yes." Jian Anan looked at Dr. Murong's wet clothes and asked, "Do you want to wipe the water off your body first?"
"I'm fine. Let me prescribe the medicine first." Doctor Murong didn't care about the water stains on his body at all.
Jian Anan was also worried about her sister's condition, so she took Doctor Murong to the study. Doctor Murong wrote a prescription without hesitation, dried the ink, and handed it to Jian Anan: "Give this prescription to my servant, Tiandong, and tell him to go back and get the medicine quickly. I'll go check Miss Jian's pulse."
Jian Anan took the prescription and walked out, while Dr. Murong returned to the outside of Jian Pingping's room.
Soon, the door opened and Bilian came out holding a pile of wet clothes. Bihe said anxiously, "Doctor, the young lady's forehead is so hot."
Doctor Murong quickly stepped into the room, touched Jian Pingping's forehead without any hesitation, and tried calling her name a few times, but Jian Pingping did not respond at all.
He frowned and felt Jian Pingping's pulse. "You're so angry, and then you got drenched by the heavy rain, that's why you have a fever. What on earth happened to you?"
There was something wrong in the look Dr. Murong gave Bihe.
Bihe avoided his gaze and asked anxiously what to do.
"Go get some water and a few handkerchiefs and put them on her forehead to cool it down." Doctor Murong suppressed his anger and instructed Bihe.
Without saying a word, Bihe immediately went to fetch water and busied herself changing Jian Pingping's handkerchief.
It wasn't until Bilian discovered that she was still wearing wet clothes that she was finally persuaded to leave after several attempts.
