Chapter 466 The sky is gloomy

Chapter 466 The sky is gloomy

Ruyi was very skillful and although the food she made was simple, it tasted good. Even the sick Ye Yunan and Luodou each had a bowl of white porridge.

Ye Mingzhu brought a bowl into the house for Sister Ying. Sister Ying stared at Tie Niu, her face flickering in the light of the oil lamp.

"Sister-in-law, please drink some porridge first. I want you to take care of Tie Niu." Ye Mingzhu put the bowl of porridge in her hand on the table.

"You guys eat first, I'm not hungry." Sister Ying didn't look back and touched Tie Niu's forehead again.

"Sister-in-law, please eat a little. Otherwise, if you fall ill, who will take care of Tie Niu?" Ye Mingzhu tried to persuade Sister-in-law Ying, and she only drank half a bowl of porridge. She wanted to leave the rest for Tie Niu.

Ye Mingzhu shook her head: "Sister-in-law, I cooked a lot of porridge today. There is still some in the pot. Don't worry, drink it. I will go get more when Tie Niu wakes up."

Sister Ying hesitated for a moment before drinking the porridge.

Seeing that it was getting late and Tie Niu had not woken up yet, Sister Ying asked Ye Mingzhu to go back and rest first, and she would just stay with Tie Niu. Ye Lang also walked in from outside.

Ye Mingzhu nodded and said, "Sister-in-law, there's porridge warming up in the kitchen. When Tieniu wakes up, you can feed him some. Ruyi is already boiling the medicine for Tieniu and will bring it over later."

Sister-in-law Ying looked at her gratefully, her voice choked with sobs: "Mingzhu, thanks to you, if it weren't for you, we wouldn't know what we would do."

"We are all family. Talking about this is getting off track. Besides, if Tie Niu hadn't come with us to Linchang, he wouldn't have gotten sick."

Ye Mingzhu said pretending to be unhappy.

Sister-in-law Ying is not the kind of person who doesn't understand things. The main reason why Ye Lang followed her to Linchang was that he wanted to make achievements. In fact, it was Jiang Hongyu and Ye Mingzhu who gave them the opportunity.

"Mingzhu, if that's the case, there's no need to mention it anymore. Going to Linchang with you guys is something your cousin and I have discussed. We have to thank you for giving Ye Lang this opportunity."

Ye Lang also nodded: "Mingzhu, if it weren't for you, I'm afraid I would still be a small yamen runner in town." Ye Lang's attitude towards Ye Mingzhu was very good: "You are tired too, go back and rest."

Ye Mingzhu then said goodbye. Only Jiang Hongyu was waiting for her in the yard, and everyone else returned to their rooms.

"Yun'an and Luodou have finished their medicine and returned to their rooms. I just checked and they are both asleep." Jiang Hongyu took Ye Mingzhu's hand and whispered.

"Yeah." Ye Mingzhu nodded and followed Ye Lang back to their room.

Jiang Hongyu poured Ye Mingzhu a glass of water and watched her drink it before saying, "You've been busy all day taking care of Yun An and the others. Go to bed early."

Ye Mingzhu yawned, trying her best to control her sleepiness, and asked, "Are Lao Hu and Yunniang okay on the boat?"

"The boatman's family is still in his hometown, and he has a good reputation. Plus, he knows that I'm going to Linchang to take up a position. We moved a lot of things down the boat when we got off the boat just now. I guess there will be nothing to do tonight." After Jiang Hongyu finished speaking, he went out to get a basin of water and asked her to wash up before going to bed.

Ye Mingzhu washed her hands and face, and suddenly remembered that Jiang Hongyu had just mentioned one night?

"Hongyu, what do you think about Yun'an and the others' illness?" Ye Mingzhu yawned again and asked with somewhat confused eyes.

"We can talk about this tomorrow. Look at you, you're so sleepy that you can't even open your eyes." Jiang Hongyu didn't answer Ye Mingzhu's question directly. Instead, he took the basin of water on the ground outside, poured some water in it, and then came back.

Ye Mingzhu wanted to say something more, but Jiang Hongyu put down the basin and blew out the oil lamp. She said a few more words, then felt sleepy and fell asleep involuntarily.

Jiang Hongyu felt the even breathing of the people around him, and a smile flashed across his face. He had already discussed the next arrangements with Ye Lang, but he had not yet figured out how to tell Ye Mingzhu.

The next morning, when Ye Mingzhu got up, there was no one around her. She put on her coat and looked out the window. It was dark outside and it seemed that it was not yet completely dawn. She yawned and lay back on the bed, but she couldn't sleep well, so she had to get up and put on her clothes.

When she walked into the yard, Ruan Linlin immediately came to greet her: "Master, you're awake. I'll bring you some water to wash up. The meal is ready."

Ye Mingzhu looked at the sky and asked in confusion: "Why don't you sleep a little longer? Why are you up so early?"

Ruyi, who was standing next to her, smiled secretly. When Ye Mingzhu looked over, she quickly pursed her lips and lowered her head.

"Boss, it's already three quarters past noon." Ruan Linlin pointed at the sky: "The weather is bad today, it's probably going to rain."

"Three quarters past noon?" Ye Mingzhu didn't expect that she would get up so late, more than half an hour later than usual.

"When I got up, it was still dark. I almost thought it wasn't daybreak yet." Ruan Linlin nodded. "It was only when Ruyi told me the time that I realized it."

Ye Mingzhu didn't expect Ruyi to have this ability. She has always been unclear about time.

"But the weather is bad, I'm afraid the boat can't move." Ruan Linlin brought back the meal and said in a low voice.

Ye Mingzhu looked around: "Where did Hongyu and the others go?"

Ye Lang came out of the house carrying dishes and said, "Hongyu went to the ferry to check on the boats. Yun'an and Ludou are still sleeping. I checked and their fevers should have subsided."

Ruyi took the plate from Ye Lang and quickly returned to the kitchen. Ye Lang originally wanted to say that he would wash the dishes himself, but as soon as he said "I", Ruyi had already snatched the bowl away.

"Cousin, is Tie Niu feeling better?" Ye Mingzhu didn't bother to eat and asked about Tie Niu's condition.

"I woke up last night. Although I'm still a little tired, my head isn't as hot anymore." Ye Lang looked much more relaxed when he said this.

"Well, that's good." Ye Mingzhu also relaxed.

The infant mortality rate in ancient times was too high. She was really afraid that something might happen to Tie Niu. She felt sorry for Ye Lang and his wife. Fortunately, Tie Niu was safe and sound, and his illness was cured.

"But given Tie Niu's current condition, I'm afraid he won't be able to get on board immediately." Ye Lang said this with a worried look on his face.

Ye Mingzhu could only say that Tie Niu was the most important, and at worst she could get on board a few days later.

Ye Lang didn't say anything more. He asked Ye Mingzhu to eat first while he went to look after Tie Niu.

After Ye Mingzhu finished her meal, the sky became even darker, as if an iron pot was placed on it, making people feel inexplicably depressed.

After a while, the wind blew violently, and there was a knock on the door and faint voices of people shouting.

As soon as Ye Mingzhu stood up, Ruan Linlin rushed out.

Within a few breaths, Yunniang and Lao Hu appeared at the gate of the courtyard, each carrying a bag and a box.
