Chapter 207 Meet in Town

Chapter 207 Meet in Town

Everyone present, except Aunt Mo, knew that they couldn't eat any more.

Aunt Mo said confidently, "These snacks have different flavors. Madam, you are just trying them, not eating them to your heart's content."

Even in the capital, Yu Jiaming had never seen anyone enjoy snacks like this, but this was a servant of Jiang Hongyu's family. When he lived in the farm, he only remembered that Aunt Jiang cooked delicious food, and he really didn't know that she was so stubborn.

Yu Jiaming's hand froze in mid-air. Jiang Hongyu felt that the box of snacks in his hand was a bit heavy, so he walked around him and put it in the car.

Yu Jiaming also reacted, silently withdrew his hand, touched his nose and said, "Get in the car."

Ye Mingzhu wanted to get in the car, but Aunt Mo grabbed her skirt and said, "Mingzhu, have you paid the money this man paid for staying at our farm last time?"

Yu Jiaming paused as he was about to get into the car. Ye Mingzhu was already overjoyed. Aunt Mo was so brave that she dared to ask the county magistrate for money.

Ye Mingzhu said seriously, "This man is Brother Yu's friend. He just stayed at our village for a few days. Don't mention the repayment in the future."

Yu Jiaming silently thought about what gift he should give Ye Mingzhu after accepting her as his sister to repay her for saving his life.

Seeing that Ye Mingzhu knew what was going on, Aunt Mo stopped talking. The purpose of her words just now was to let Yu Jiaming hear.

On the way back, Aunt Mo kept her eyes on the food box, occasionally glancing at Yu Jiaming, as if to tell him not to worry about it.

Yu Jiaming's expression changed from calm to aggrieved, and finally turned a little dark. Ye Mingzhu was really afraid that he would get angry.

Fortunately, Jiang Hongyu noticed it in time and whispered a few words in Yu Jiaming's ear, and the two of them started discussing in a low voice.

Ye Mingzhu pretended that she had no ears and slowly closed her eyes. Unexpectedly, she really fell asleep. Aunt Mo put Ye Mingzhu's head on her head and stopped staring at the food box. Yu Jiaming and Jiang Hongyu also stopped talking.

When Ye Mingzhu opened her eyes again, she had already arrived at the Jiang family's gate in the town. Only Jiang Hongyu and she were in the carriage.

"You're here so soon?" She was a little surprised.

Jiang Hongyu's eyes were full of ridicule: "It's late, it's time for lunch."

Ye Mingzhu didn't expect that she had slept for so long and felt a little embarrassed.

Jiang Hongyu moved his arms: "Let's get out of the car."

It turned out that at some point, Aunt Mo and Jiang Hongyu switched positions, and Ye Mingzhu slept on Jiang Hongyu's shoulder for most of the journey.

Ye Mingzhu quickly jumped off the carriage and almost sprained her ankle. Jiang Hongyu wanted to help her from behind but it was too late.

A flock of crows flew past Ye Mingzhu's eyes, and she felt that Taishe was dead.

"Oh, I don't know when the dirt got on my shoes." She pretended to pat the dirt off her shoes and then stood up.

Yu Jiaming and Aunt Mo were standing at the door.

Yu Jiaming couldn't help laughing. He looked at the door, but the corners of his mouth kept twitching.

Aunt Mo was so focused on the food box in her hand that she didn't notice Ye Mingzhu's loss of composure.

"Brother Yu, let's go home. I guess mother and Yun'an already know we are back." Ye Mingzhu said to Jiang Hongyu who had just got off the carriage.

"Sister, sister, you are back?" Ye Yun'an ran out of the door like a small cannonball, but stopped in front of Ye Mingzhu.

"Sister, you've been gone for a long time this time. I miss you."

Ye Mingzhu touched his forehead with her hand in the air: "Then I won't go anywhere from now on. I will stay at home with you."

Ye Yun'an nodded heavily.

Aunt Jiang came out of the door and glanced at the people who came in. When she saw Aunt Mo, the smile on her face froze and she forgot what she was about to say.

Aunt Mo's legs softened and she was about to kneel down. Ye Mingzhu quickly went over to support her and said, "Mom, this is Aunt Mo from my farm. She makes delicious snacks."

Aunt Jiang nodded and opened her mouth to speak, but her throat seemed to be blocked and she couldn't speak.

Jiang Hongyu asked everyone to go in first and talk about it when they got home if there was anything.

Yu Jiaming had already noticed that something was wrong with Aunt Jiang and Aunt Mo, but he didn't say anything. Instead, he cooperated and asked Jiang Hongyu where he lived.

Jiang Hongyu led Yu Jiaming inside first, and said to Ye Mingzhu, "Mingzhu, just take Aunt Mo to the backyard. Ask Yunniang to bring us lunch later, and we will eat in the front yard."

Ye Mingzhu smiled and agreed. She winked at Ye Yun'an, signaling him to support Aunt Jiang. She then stepped forward and took the food box from Aunt Mo's left hand. She whispered, "Aunt Mo, let's go inside first. We can talk about anything inside."

Although Aunt Jiang was walking, her eyes were always looking at Aunt Mo.

Aunt Mo kept her head down the whole way. If Ye Mingzhu hadn't reminded her from time to time, she would probably have stepped over the stones on the ground.

After entering the backyard and standing in the main hall, Aunt Mo knelt down on the ground with a plop. Ye Mingzhu was holding a food box in her hand and could not stop her at all.

"Xia Zhi, where have you been all these years?" Aunt Jiang's voice was filled with sadness. "Brother Yu always thought you were gone, and he would go out every year to inquire about your whereabouts."

"Madam, it's all my fault." Aunt Mo did not argue and knelt there with her head down.

"You, you damned girl, you're still like this. Do you think you can get over it by not saying anything? You were like this when you were beaten by that man, and now you're like this again. If you don't say anything, leave now," Aunt Jiang turned around angrily, "and don't call me Madam anymore."

"Madam, Xia Zhi was wrong, she was really wrong." Aunt Mo raised her head and knelt beside Aunt Jiang. "You can't deny me. You said I am your Xia Zhi, forever."

If the two people in front of her were not women, Ye Mingzhu would have felt like she was looking at a lost lover.

"Mom, why don't we let Aunt Mo get up first? The bricks on the ground are too hard." Ye Mingzhu didn't leave just now, and if she left now, it would make too much noise, so she had to persuade her.

Aunt Jiang plopped down on the chair next to her and said to Aunt Mo unhappily, "Alright, get up. It's not embarrassing to be in front of the younger generation. Tell me, where have you been all these years?"

Ye Mingzhu thought that Aunt Mo would not be able to hold on, but she stood up silently and stood next to Aunt Jiang. Aunt Jiang rolled her eyes, picked up the teapot on the table and poured a glass of water for Aunt Mo: "Drink it, and talk slowly after you finish it."

Ye Mingzhu blinked and felt that the two people in front of her had become much more lively.

Aunt Mo obediently picked up the teacup, drank the tea in it, and then began to recount her experiences over the years. The words and details she used were much more detailed than when she first told her.

Aunt Jiang was right next to them, listening attentively and occasionally pouring tea for Aunt Mo.

After Aunt Mo finished telling everything, Aunt Jiang snorted coldly: "You will never change your bad habit of being soft-hearted for children."
