Chapter 45 Contraception

Chapter 45 Contraception

"So why didn't you tell me that you learned to speak? You really wanted to make me worry."

After kissing him, Irene refused to admit it. She poked the soft flesh on Leo's waist angrily and said in a fierce tone:

"How can you, little kid, have more evil intentions than a beehive?"

The boy was silent for a moment, and his tone unconsciously carried a hint of accusation.

"If I still can't learn to speak, you'll have to find ways to provoke me again. Who knows if another Lucas or Edward will pop up?" Leo spoke slowly, and you could tell that he was trying his best to pronounce each word more clearly. But perhaps because he hadn't spoken for so long, the words stuck together inadvertently and the ending sound was dragged out.

It's like a child who has just learned to speak and is acting like a spoiled child.

Irene touched her nose awkwardly. Although she did seem to have such an idea, she had not put it into practice yet.

A gentleman judges by deeds rather than by heart; judging by the heart, no one in the world is perfect.

"Then shouldn't you be scolded for learning to speak without telling me?" Irene retorted weakly.

Leo blinked, and tears suddenly appeared in his pupils. He said aggrievedly: "This is a surprise! I thought you would be happy, and the whole day today is a surprise prepared for you."

"I can't think of a better gift for you."

Although the boy spoke incoherently, Irene immediately understood what he was saying.

From the moment she opened her eyes in the morning and saw the boy smiling at her in the beautiful long dress she made, to the Chinese crepe silk in the bag that was enough to make two skirts, to the surprise in the rose garden now, all of these were surprises Leo prepared for her.

Leo was trying to please her, and the young man's desire to please his beloved was exposed and laid bare before her eyes.

Even if she was wearing women's clothing, even if she was wearing a long skirt, she would be admired by everyone like a mannequin in a shop window.

Whatever Irene wanted, Leo was willing to fight for it, just to win her favor.

This made Irene couldn't help but have an illusion - the illusion that Leo's world revolved around her.

But how is this possible? She is not the sun and Leo is not an asteroid. How could they always revolve around her?

Irene licked her lips and tried her best to suppress the unreasonable and abnormal expectations in her heart.

But when she met Leo's eyes, she felt a rare sense of helplessness. Most of the Chinese boys she had met before had an unusually distinct sense of distance. Even if they sat close together, they would not do this -

Irene looked at Leo's movements as if he wanted to lock her in his arms like a child, and the inappropriate hint in his eyes.

The rose garden under the moonlight seems to be able to accommodate all the unspeakable intimate affairs.

Leo's pupils were like deep blue sapphires that had melted under high temperatures, and his eyes flowed slowly like magma, inch by inch, along her curled hair, leaving hot marks on her skin.

Her face suddenly felt hot, and Irene looked away as if she had been scalded. A tingling sensation like an electric shock went from the back of her neck to her tailbone.

——How dare these foreigners do such inappropriate things in broad daylight!

She could even hear the sounds of kissing in the pavilion next door.

Whenever there was a difference in her cognition with others, Irene would automatically forget that she was essentially a mixed-race.

For example, when she was forced to eavesdrop on gossip, the British blood in her body was clamoring fiercely, but when she encountered certain passionate scenes, the conservative Chinese genes in her body began to stir again.

In short, I feel awkward and entangled as a person.

At this moment, the conservative version of Irene finally managed to pull Leo off her like a dog-skin plaster, "Let's go home and make trouble. We can't do it here."

She stared at Leo's innocent and lost eyes, and added, "I'll settle the score with you when I get back."

"What are you calculating? How much did you spend on the fabric?" Leo held Irene's wrist tightly, smiling like a fool. His unclear pronunciation made him look even dumber. "All my money is yours, no need to calculate."

"This is not the reason for this," Irene closed her eyes speechlessly. She couldn't explain the cognitive differences between China and the West in such a short time.

The only way to make Leo understand what the Chinese way of "settling accounts" is is through personal experience.

*

Leo turned his head and pressed his hot cheek against Irene's nervous and cold hand. He stretched out his tongue and hooked Irene's palm, his eyes full of desire that was about to overflow.

The dim footlights reflected on the silver chain on the long skirt on the ground, refracting a water-like light like moonlight.

"Will you hide things from me next time?" Irene sat astride Leo's abdominal muscles, beads of sweat slid down her forehead and fell onto the boy's face, mixing with his sweat and sinking into the soft pillow.

The windows were open, and the night sea breeze blew into the house, carrying with it a salty, fishy smell.

Irene moved slowly down, leaving wet marks on the boy's clear abdominal muscle lines.

She asked again in revenge: "Are you still hiding it from me?"

"I wanted to tell you yesterday, but you were too busy," Leo groaned, as if in pleasure and pain. The fragile pearl chain on his wrist swayed several times with his movements, making a tinkling sound.

"You were too busy making the dress, discussing embroidery with Lucas, and teaching Hannah how to sew. You had so many things to do that you had no time to look at me."

Leo complained aggrievedly, shaking the other half of the pearl chain on the bedside table in dissatisfaction, as if it would break in the next second.

Irene's fingertips slid from the boy's tall nose to his vocal cords, which had just learned to speak. She closed her thumb and middle finger, grasped Leo's jaw, and forced the boy to raise his head.

"But if you hadn't told me, how could I know that you were much more important than their affairs?"

Her tone was light, but it hit Leo's heart like a hammer.

Is he more important than those people... He repeated Irene's words in his mind four or five times, like a candy that would not melt. The more he chewed it, the more he could taste the refreshing sweetness.

It was as if he had fallen into a trap made of honey, and Leo sat at the bottom of the pit, dazed.

He subconsciously wanted to reach out and hug Irene, and as he raised his hand, the pearl chain started to jingle again.

"Be careful," Irene deliberately rubbed it twice. She looked at Leo with a smile, and her tone contained a threat, "If the pearls are scattered all over the floor, you will get off the bed."

This threat was no less than putting a gun with the safety bolt against Leo's head. His arms were stiff, his biceps were tightly stretched, and his muscles were beautifully defined, which attracted Irene so much that she couldn't help but raise her hand and touch it.

Leo had bought this pearl necklace, so he knew how fragile it was. But now, the silk thread, which was so fragile that it would break if pulled, was tightly binding his hands.

"But I learned to speak, shouldn't that be rewarded?" Leo's voice was surprisingly hoarse.

Irene snorted and laughed, "You're asking for a reward now. Who did you learn this from?"

"Lucas," Leo answered honestly, with some pitiful tears in his eyes, to show how much harm Lucas had brought to him, trying to win Irene's sympathy.

"Aren't I giving you a reward?" Irene didn't fall for his trick. She was just confused by Leo's appearance a few days ago, but as soon as she woke up, she remembered clearly how brutal the boy was before. Don't try to pretend to be a lamb while she was trying.

"It's not a reward," Leo retorted earnestly, "It's a normal couple's duty."

Irene subconsciously retorted: "But we can't be real husband and wife."

Sometimes the truth spoken subconsciously is more hurtful.

As soon as she said this, Irene began to regret it and wanted to slap herself.

Leo was stuck, as if his central nervous system encountered some complex command that it couldn't process clearly. He could only stand there in a daze, digesting the unfamiliar information.

The pearls fell to the ground with a tinkling sound, and then rolled to every corner of the room. The crisp sound gradually faded away.

Leo grabbed Irene's wrist, the deep desire in his eyes had not yet subsided, and a cold color appeared in his lower body.

"Why not? Just because I'm a bastard? A slave? I'm not worthy of your affection?"

"That's not what I meant."

"But that's what you said before."

"When did I really say that?" Irene felt that she was very wronged. Leo was simply pinning a big accusation on her out of thin air.

Suddenly her eyes blurred, and the positions of the two people were reversed. Leo lowered his head and bit her neck, and his knee pushed forcefully between her legs.

"When I went to buy a carriage."

Irene immediately understood why Leo was so angry when he stood under the tree, and she quickly explained:

"I was just telling Hannah what love is."

"'Of course, I didn't kiss him because I liked him,'" Leo repeated word for word what Irene had said to Hannah. "If you didn't like him, why did you kiss me? If you didn't plan to marry me, why did you sleep with me?"

"Liar, you are a liar." Ice formed inch by inch in the boy's eyes. Cold moonlight poured into the room, soaking Leo's body. Everywhere he looked was clear silver light, but the red in his eyes could not be blurred.

Leo still couldn't pronounce it clearly, and the word liar sounded a bit like lover.

But it seems that there is really not much difference between a liar and a lover.

The words of explanation got stuck in my throat.

How to explain it, how can she explain it?

Irene realized that even if she could explain the meaning of the word "like" at that time, she couldn't explain why she couldn't marry Leo.

You can't just say that it's possible that she could travel back to the modern era.

Although Leo might believe it after she said it, what's the use? It has no meaning except to make Leo spend every day with her in anxiety.

She didn't want Leo to fall into meaningless pain, nor did she want him to worry about the future that might suddenly come at any time.

I hope this fear of the unknown only causes her pain.

Irene forced a smile, she put her arms around Leo's cold neck and whispered:

"I just said the wrong thing because I was nervous. If I'm willing to do this with you, it means I'm willing to marry you."

"I just didn't think that much. As for what happened before, I said that just to give Hannah a correct view of love. After all, we got together too quickly, and I was afraid she would mistakenly think that this is what love is."

When people lie, their eyes will unconsciously look upwards and their heartbeat will speed up.

This reaction was particularly evident in Irene. She was not good at lying at all. The only two lies she told in front of him were extremely clumsy, and he could see it at a glance.

Leo felt a chill in his chest that made his hands and feet cold. He saw his own shadow in Irene's pupils, distorted, pale, and full of despair.

Irene had never imagined a future with him, and Leo realized this very clearly.

He clenched Irene's slender wrist anxiously. The protruding bones under her fingertips pressed against his palm, and her presence was very strong. However, he always felt that Irene would disappear from his sight in the next second, and would abandon him soon.

"Why are you crying? Why are you crying all of a sudden?" Irene hurriedly wiped away the tears from Leo's eyes. "Don't cry. I really like you. Of all the people in the world, you are my favorite."

To Leo now, every word of Irene's explanation was like holding a colander and searching for a gem the size of a grain of rice in the endless ocean, which was a futile effort.

For a man like him, being deceived twice in a row about the same thing was enough to make him lose all trust in Irene.

Leo lowered his head and bit Irene, his Adam's apple rolling, as if he had let the matter go.

Irene couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. She was indeed not good at lying. Fortunately, Leo did not pursue the issue in detail.

She raised her hands and put them around the boy's neck, passively enduring Leo's kiss which suddenly became wild and violent.

The boy held her hand and handed her a soft object. Irene squeezed the small object in her hand, a little dazed.

Leo explained softly, "It's used for contraception. I spent a long time looking for it recently and finally bought it from the Chinese. I heard that the stuff they use is of much better quality and much better than the vulcanized rubber condoms in the pharmacy."

"You decide whether or not we want to have something happen tonight..."

Whether we can be together in the future or not, the decision is mine, Leo silently said this in his heart.

After he finished speaking, he stared at Irene for a long time. He didn't look like he was asking for love at all, which made Irene feel very uncomfortable.

She was about to ask the boy what he was looking at, but Leo seemed to have figured something out. The ice in his eyes suddenly melted, and a beautiful smile appeared at the corner of his lips. He buried his head in her neck and said coquettishly:

"So is it useful or not?"
