Chapter 68 The end of the text They will be happy
Dark, selfish, and indifferent.
The layer of fragility and gentleness that used to conceal his self faded from his ice-blue pupils, leaving only the cold and crazy possessiveness flashing in his eyes.
Leo bit Irene's plump lips, moved the hand that was pinching her neck behind her head, and clasped his fingers hard.
His kiss was so brutal, almost like robbery, that the root of Irene's tongue was painful from Leo's sucking, and she was forced to swallow the saliva that did not belong to her. She felt as if she was going to be swallowed by Leo in the next second, and even breathing was difficult.
But strangely enough, even though Leo forced her to kiss him, Irene didn't feel angry at all. She even felt like everything was settled. The vague worry she had before disappeared from her heart, and she felt relieved instead.
Leo is that kind of person.
All the virtues associated with beauty, such as being well-behaved, submissive, and fragile, were just pretended by him.
How did it take so long for me to realize this?
Why was she so deceived by some sweet words from Leo in his youth and completely forgot that Leo killed people without blinking an eye?
But what attracted her at the beginning was the darkness and indifference hidden beneath Leo's exquisite appearance, like a fascinating demon, which prompted Irene to want to know more about Leo and get closer to Leo.
As I thought about it and watched it, I completely fell into this trap called Leo.
Irene suddenly became enlightened and her mind became clear.
No wonder she felt so bad when Leo used those little roundabout ways on her.
Now it's easy to understand, she doesn't like Leo who is full of lies and threats.
What she likes is Leo, who is cruel and dangerous, kills people without blinking an eye, and doesn't bother to make up lies. He is Leo who will never give up until he achieves his goal.
But if we continue kissing, I’ll really suffocate!
Irene pinched Leo's uninjured lower back hard, but he seemed not to feel the pain and bit her lips and swallowed, as hungry as if he would not have the next meal after this one.
Why on earth did she feel pity for Leo? Irene really wanted to cleanse her brain which had been blinded by beauty and see how much rust was inside.
"No more kissing," Irene raised her head, angry and anxious, "I have to discuss cooperation with Lucas' family tomorrow. How can I face people with a swollen mouth?"
As soon as he heard the word "Lucas", without even hearing the words clearly, Leo picked up the thin skin on the side of Irene's neck with an expressionless face and sucked hard, leaving a string of red marks.
"Don't go. What's so good about seeing a poor, stingy, and incompetent old man? Can he make you happier than I can?"
It was like thunder exploding in Irene's ears. She covered Leo's mouth with her hands. Her ears turned red in the blink of an eye. Irene suppressed her shame and lowered her voice.
"How can you talk like that? There are people standing over there."
Of course Leo knew she was referring to Lucas, who was watching them from the back door.
What a waste! If he were Lucas, and saw another man hugging Irene and kissing her wantonly, he would kill the man even at the cost of his own life.
A wimp.
He pulled the corners of his lips in boredom. Even though the darkness in front of him was getting darker, he was still unforgiving with his words.
"Just let him listen, let him see how I kiss you, let him know who the person you like is."
The deep blue night sky was dotted with stars, and the rose bushes were red to black. Leo rested his chin on Irene's shoulder, and the hot breath he exhaled while talking tickled her sensitive earlobes, and the tingling sensation went all the way down her spine.
The shame in Irene's heart became more and more intense. She wanted to hold Leo's shoulders and push him away. As soon as she raised her hand, she remembered the injury on his shoulder, and her tone unconsciously became anxious.
"Your shoulder is still injured. Stop making trouble. Let's go back first."
"elder sister--"
Leo, who was buried in the side of Irene's neck, called her in a dull voice, as pitiful as a puppy.
"You like mine, don't you?"
"Why else would you come back? Why else would you try to block bullets for me, make clothes for me, and tell me so many things about you?"
He seemed to be convincing himself and constantly finding reasons why Irene liked him.
Irene opened her lips, but before she could say anything to quibble, Leo muttered to himself again:
"Since I was little, no one has come to save me except you. But sister, you saved me twice, even without caring whether you would be in danger."
"I'm special, right?"
"You love me, don't you?"
Leo held Irene's shoulders, and when he looked down at her, his eyes seemed to contain a spring of water, and he looked at her tenderly but stubbornly.
There is a terrifying and deep whirlpool hidden under the spring.
It was as if if she uttered the word "no", the intense and powerful emotions would roar out and swallow her up.
Irene stroked Leo's face, the clear bone lines in her palm, and threw the question back.
"What about you? Do you love me more than yourself? Will you learn to respect me?"
"Can you please stop interfering with my life and work?"
The two were like opponents in a stalemate at the negotiating table. Whoever bowed first would lose the most important bargaining chip in the game.
"Can you, Leo?" Erin curled her lips slightly, "I will love you if you can."
Leo moved closer to her, their breaths mingling together, his dark eyes carrying an aggressive aura.
His eyes flickered violently, as if he was considering the credibility of Irene's words.
"Always love me? Only love me? Only me in your eyes?"
"Yes," Irene replied in a firm tone.
Leo stared into her eyes dimly, "What if you can't do it."
The tone was flat, and it was hard to tell whether he was questioning or simply asking for protection.
Irene's heart beat faster, she almost suspected that Leo could hear her rapidly accelerating heartbeat. The words she wanted to say rolled on the tip of her tongue, wobbling back and forth, unable to come out. She quickly recited a sentence, unclearly.
"Um?"
Leo's eyes became darker and darker, showing a hint of displeasure.
Irene closed her eyes and said, "I said, if I can't do it, we'll die together."
This was what he had just said, and Irene gave it back to him.
Leo was stunned for a moment, and the dark tide in his eyes receded visibly. He leaned over to Erin's ear, and his tone was calm but with a hint of madness.
"I will really kill you."
"Okay," Irene lowered her eyes, "Let me see how long I can survive."
"A fortune teller once said that I could live to be a hundred years old."

One month later.
"So the lady went to find Lucas later just to tell him to get lost?" Hannah supported her chin and looked at Irene curiously.
"I didn't say that," Irene carefully pinned the pearl buttons on her clothes. "I just told him clearly about my relationship with Leo and what Leo does, and he became polite."
"But didn't Leo also say that he saw a diamond ring on your hand?"
"He must have seen it wrong. I can't even take off the bone ring on my ring finger. Can I wear two rings?"
"That's true," Hannah nodded thoughtfully, "Ever since the young lady returned to the 21st century, he's always been startled. It seems like he's had a nervous breakdown."
"But none of this matters," Hannah said, changing the subject, "Miss, are you really planning to marry him?"
"Yeah, I'm making wedding dresses now."
Irene was busying herself without even raising her head. The wedding date was approaching, and she had to finish the wedding dress quickly. She also had to write invitations, prepare souvenirs and the like. Leo was currently looking at churches one by one for holding weddings.
Because Irene couldn't give up her business, they decided to hold their wedding in New York, and the wedding was kept simple as Irene wished.
"So where are you going for your honeymoon? France? England? Or Italy?"
"No honeymoon. The store is so busy, how can I have time for a honeymoon?" Irene replied without even looking up.
Hannah was dumbfounded and said, "So it really is just a simple wedding."
"Yeah, it was just to fulfill Leo's idea. I didn't even plan to have a wedding. It would have been enough to just register, but Leo insisted on having it."
Irene's tone was helpless, mainly because Leo looked too pitiful under her at the time, and Irene was bewitched and agreed to his request.
Who knew there would be so much to do even for a simple wedding.
"Miss, you are so happy now," Hannah suddenly said without thinking. She lowered her chin and looked at Irene with sparkling eyes.
"Really?" Irene paused.
She recalled last night when she and Leo were sweating profusely on the narrow sofa. The man buried his head in her arms and said in a muffled voice, "Maybe I have gone crazy looking for you and created an illusion for myself, a happiness that is too unreal."
Irene replied unhappily, "Why didn't you say that when you insisted on having sex a second time on the couch?"
"Sister, don't you like lying on the sofa?" Leo kissed Irene's waist and went up. "Then why don't you lie on the new table? It's very high, so you won't feel tired lying on it. I also bought a cushion so it won't irritate you."
Irene slapped him on the face and said incredulously, "Is this the only thing on your mind every day? And it's happened three times today. Don't you have a plateau?"
"Why don't you try it?" Leo said, pulling Irene's hand to verify his "plateau period".
Irene touched it twice in disbelief, then pulled her hand back with a gloomy face.
This is different from what is said in Xiaohongshu!
It doesn't make sense!
"But I'm really tired today. How about I give it to you tomorrow?"
His tone was so tired that he sounded like an old man who couldn't pay his dues in middle age.
She would move into the store tomorrow, Irene swore secretly in her heart.
"If you don't want to do it, then don't do it." Leo sat up, hugged Irene in his arms, and put his chin on Irene's shoulder. "Then sister, tell me again the story of how you missed me in the 21st century and ran all the way to the United States."
