"Ding-ling-ling, clang-clang, roar-roar."
"Ding-ling-ling, clang-clang, roar-roar."
"Ding-ling-ling, clang-clang, roar-roar."
It rang every morning for three days in a row.
Early this morning, Qin Yueke was woken up again. She angrily threw off the quilt, got out of bed, put on her shoes, and walked to the dressing table. Her eyes widened, her left hand on her waist, her right hand tightly gripping a small whip. She pointed at a small box and said angrily, "Hu Fu, what are you doing? You annoying idiot! If my grandfather hadn't warned me not to open the small box casually to peek at you, and only open it when the opportunity arises, I would have dragged you out, whipped you a few times, and then flattened you with a hammer! Humph."
The maidservant, Xiangcao, quickly snatched the whip away and said, "Miss, please, don't whip me anymore. You've caused enough trouble these past two days. Yesterday, the tigress from Lord Fan's family dragged Fan Tong, whose face was covered in red whip marks, to our house to cause trouble. Didn't you know?"
"That's what Fan Tong deserves. It's his fault for bullying Xiao Si and saying that Xiao Si is a poor little kid without a father or a mother. If he bullies Xiao Si again next time, I will beat him up." After saying that, he clenched his little fist and waved it.
She turned to the little maid Xiangcao and said, "Stop nagging. You've become an old lady. Go out. I still need to catch up on my sleep." The little maid Xiangcao had no choice but to go out again and close the door.
The small box stopped, and Qin Yueke saw that he had calmed down, so he turned around and went back to bed. In an instant, he swayed three times again: "Ding-ling-ling, bang-clang, roar-roar."
Qin Yue was really angry now. "Little box, I'm going to open it. I really want to open it. Let's see what the tiger talisman is doing inside."
Qin Yueke opened the small box, and a ray of light flew into her eyebrows and into her little head. She turned away from the dressing table in a daze, walked to the bed, took off her shoes, lifted the quilt, got into the bed, lay down, and fell into a dream.
In the dream, there was a place bigger than my grandfather's manor, with mountains, rivers, and fertile fields... In that beautiful place, I saw a cute cat. Qin Yueke ran up to hug the kitten and said, "Kitten, you are so cute. Whose are you?" Hu Fu was unhappy when he heard it. "I miss you, a thousand-year-old cat. Bah! How did you take me astray? You are a thousand-year-old tiger. Who is the kitten? You are the kitten. Your whole family are kittens. Tigers! How can a tiger and a kitten be the same? What kind of look is that?"
Qin Yueke was even more surprised when she heard it could talk. "You can talk! You can actually talk! Where is this? Is this your home? It's so big and beautiful."
Hu Fu rolled his big white tiger eyes and said to Qin Yueke with a serious face, "That's the space. You're a newbie and don't have any tomatoes, so you don't know anything. I'll tell you what the space is tonight."
"Now, listen carefully to what I'm about to say. I was the tiger talisman in your great-grandfather's hand. When it came into your grandfather's hands, it became nothing more than a lucky charm, no longer useful for mobilizing troops. That's why your grandfather gave me to you. In my previous life, I followed your family through prosperity, wealth, confiscation of property, exile, and even death in a foreign land."
Seeing Qin Yueke was impatient to ask questions, he said, "Don't worry, I am in your mind and consciousness. I have lived for thousands of years. I will give you all my memories and let them become a part of you. I will help you and your loved ones avoid disasters, enjoy happiness, and seize opportunities."
After a pause, he continued, "The most pressing matter right now is that your family is facing confiscation of property and exile." Qin Yueke was extremely anxious at this time, eager to know what was going on. He said to Hu Fu, "Hu Fu, can I call you Hu Bao?"
Hu Fu glared at him with his tiger eyes and said proudly, "Don't say it's because I'm cute. I'm a thousand years old." Qin Yueke shook her head and said, "Because you are our family's treasure. You are here to save our family." Hu Fu thought for a moment: Hu Fu Hu Fu, Hu Bao Hu Bao, um, Hu Bao sounds good. He nodded in agreement.
Hu Bao said to Qin Yueke, "Sit down. I'll transmit my millennia-long experiences to you. You can slowly digest them and make them part of your own memories." "Okay," Qin Yueke replied, sitting up straight and looking at Hu Bao with wide eyes. Hu Bao stretched out his paw, darts it in front of Qin Yueke's eyes, and she fell asleep.
In her dreams, Qin Yue could follow Hu Bao through thousands of years from a third-party perspective, witnessing the changes in a small world called the Flower Country over the past thousand years. Opening her eyes, Qin Yue felt both excited and confused.
Seeing Qin Yueke's expression, Hu Bao said, "Take your time to digest it. There's no rush. Now, show me this place called space." Before Qin Yueke could react, Hu Bao instantly grew larger, curled up with his tail, and placed Qin Yueke on his back. Then, Hu Bao began to run, and Qin Yueke followed him, watching as Hu Bao explained the supplies and functions of each area within the space. There were grains and processed grains, fruits and vegetables, various meats, dairy products, cloth, clothing, quilts, bedding, daily necessities, hardware, electronics, appliances large and small, books, pens, inkstones, military products, weapons divided into cold and hot weapons, and various vehicles... All of these were neatly arranged in their respective areas.
There are rivers and lakes in the space, with various fish, shrimps and crabs in them. There are small animals on the mountains, and various poultry and livestock are raised at the foot of the mountains. Various grains, vegetables and fruits are grown on the land.
Qin Yueke was dazed after watching the whole thing, and was placed on the ground by Hu Bao, who shrank instantly. Hu Bao said to Qin Yueke, "Don't be afraid of what you see and hear later. Those things haven't happened yet. They are just warnings to you so you can be prepared."
Then, Qin Yueke had a terrible dream. In the dream, on the tenth day of the tenth month, an imperial edict arrived at the general's residence. The edict declared that his grandfather, his uncle, and his aunt were traitors who had colluded with the enemy and caused the annihilation of the Northwest Army. They deserved death.
