Chapter 21: Encountering a comrade and entrusting him with his orphan (Part 2)

Zhou Jinyan's family lives in Shahewan, Jisa Town. Zhou Jinyan's grandfather has two brothers and an older brother. Zhou Jinyan's grandmother died of complications during childbirth. Zhou Jinyan's grandfather held Zhou Wenhao and begged for food in the village, raising Zhou Wenhao like this. When Zhou Wenhao was 10 years old, the whole village was hiding from the sand bandits. They didn't run far away before the bandits were about to catch up. Zhou Jinyan's grandfather's older brother went to beg Zhou Jinyan's grandfather to lead the bandits to another road. He promised Zhou Jinyan's grandfather to raise Zhou Wenhao well and let him study.

Zhou Jinyan's grandfather left and never came back.

At the beginning, Zhou Wenhao's uncle treated Zhou Wenhao relatively well. He provided him with enough food to eat and warm clothes to wear, and sent him to school with his own children. But later, life became more and more difficult, and Zhou Wenhao was hungry. Two years later, Zhou Wenhao's home was occupied by his uncle's family. Zhou Wenhao was left homeless and lived in the village land temple for three years.

One winter, an army passed by the village, and Zhou Wenhao quietly followed the team and joined the army.

After the battle, Zhou Wenhao was injured, and his comrades took him and Zhou Jinyan to the hospital. Zhou Wenhao lived with Zhou Jinyan in the hospital for half a year. The nurses and doctors fed Zhou Jinyan until he was six months old. Later, Zhou Wenhao sent Zhou Jinyan back to his hometown.

At that time, Zhou Wenhao felt that now that he was free, his uncle would not treat Zhou Jinyan the same way as before. Moreover, he sent money back every month to support Zhou Jinyan.

Zhou Jinyan wiped her tears and continued, "But he was wrong. Dad left me at my uncle's house when I was only six months old and has only come back to see me now."
