Qin Muxiao and Qin Muzhou were attending middle school in the commune. They had a day off today. They would be able to start their third year of junior high school in the spring of next year.
At school, they usually spent the first half of the day in class and the second half working in the village. But Qin Muxiao and Qin Muzhou were both proactive in their studies, completing their other academic assignments and also doing practice exercises every day. Ke'er found plenty of relevant academic exercises for the brothers.
Ke'er also found a lot of books for Qin Feng and Li Shuwan, allowing them to study on their own. She also suggested that they learn from their brothers and take the junior high school graduation exam to strive to obtain a junior high school diploma, which will definitely be beneficial to their future development.

Qin Muxiao was holding a basket in his left hand and a shovel in his right hand.
When Zhou Jinyan saw Ke'er carrying a basket, he walked over and took the basket, holding the handle together with his own basket.

Zhou Jinyan led everyone to a wasteland, put down the basket in his hand, looked around, and stepped hard on a place where the ground was relatively hard and higher than the surrounding land.

Zhou Jinyan first dug a small round hole in the ground. On the lower side of the hole, he used a shovel to cut a hole in it. Then he put down the shovel and said to everyone, "Let's all find a hard piece of earth. It shouldn't be too big, about the size of an egg."
Everyone quickly dispersed to look for clods of earth. Soon they found a pile, and Zhou Jinyan piled clods of earth on top of the circular hole he had dug so he could pick out the ones he found.
Zhou Jinyan began to pile up earth at the bottom of the pit, placing a circle of larger earth, one close to the other. Once the circle was complete, he pressed it down with his hands to make it firm. He then piled up another circle on top, this one slightly inward, and then pressed it down tightly. He continued to pile up circle after circle, until he could only place a larger earth block at the top. Once the circle was complete, a pointed earth block fortress was formed.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Oh my god, they were suffocating. They were afraid that their loud breathing would scare Zhou Jinyan, and his hand slipped, and all their efforts were wasted.
Zhou Jinyan smiled and said, "Practice makes perfect. Don't be afraid. If you fall, just try again."
Everyone looked at him and asked, "What are you doing now?"
"Find some firewood and branches, and start a fire here until this earthen fortress is bright red and cool. Then, put the potatoes, sweet potatoes, eggplants, and peppers in it. Then, use a shovel to pat it hard until it's solid. Shovel some soil on top and compact it. You'll be able to dig it up and enjoy the delicious food in a moment."
"Let's dig an earth fort too."
Qin Muxiao, Qin Muzhou, and Qin Muchun all turned around to find a place to dig a hole and build an earthen fortress. Ke'er also wanted to try it, but as soon as she turned around, she was stopped by Zhou Jinyan. "Ke'er, if you don't go, it will be dirty and tiring. Just sit here and wait. There's enough food in here for us to eat."
As he spoke, he took out a piece of blue cloth from the basket and spread it on a higher place, letting Ke'er sit down. He then took out a few handfuls of red and yellow mushrooms and gave them to Ke'er, "Eat some, Ke'er. They're so sweet."
Seeing Ke'er sitting down and eating obediently, Zhou Jinyan hurriedly went to find some branches, broke them off, and carefully stuffed them into the earthen fortress bit by bit and lit a fire.
Seeing Zhou Jinyan's face flushed red from the fire, Ke'er handed him her small kettle and said, "Brother Jinyan, drink some water."
Zhou Jinyan took it and gulped down a few mouthfuls, wiped the corner of his mouth, screwed on the lid and handed it to Ke'er.
Ke'er took it and put it in the basket, then took out a red mushroom and peeled off the yellow-green skin. A round, red fruit was revealed. Ke'er took a light bite, and the sweet juice and small seeds burst in her mouth. Ke'er squinted her eyes and said, "It's delicious. Thank you, Brother Jinyan."
"No thanks, as long as Ke'er likes it."
"Zhou Jinyan, come quickly and take a look at my earth fortress. Oh my god, it can't be built." Qin Muchiao shouted angrily.
Zhou Jinyan saw that the fire in his earthen fortress was almost burnt out, so he said to Ke'er, "Ke'er, you must not come here. Our earthen fortress is already burning red, very hot, you must be careful."
