Qin Feng, 29, is the youngest son of General Qin Chengbang. His wife died of an infectious disease when he was only 5. After his mother's death, his father never remarried, and he raised 5-year-old Qin Feng and his older brother, 10-year-old Qin Lei, in a military camp in Northwest China.
Qin Lei married his wife Yao Ya'an when he was 18 years old. Yao Ya'an was the only daughter of Yao Zheng, the deputy general of the Northwest Army. She grew up with her elder brother in the Northwest. She was bold and generous, gentle and obedient to her family. She was naughty like a boy since she was a child. She was good at riding a horse, wielding a sword, and killing enemies. Yao Zheng and his wife gave her a more elegant name, Yao Ya'an.
After the eldest brother and his family got married, they brought 13-year-old Qin Feng back to the general's mansion in the capital.
The next year, my brother's eldest son Qin Mu Ze was born. After the full moon banquet, my brother went to the Northwest Army. My sister-in-law and Qin Feng stayed in the general's mansion. Qin Feng was thirteen or fourteen years old and he was always setting up a ring and beating the rich young men in Beijing until they were bruised and covered with wounds. The parents who were provoked came to the house to ask for compensation. They would put a sack on the rich young men who did not do their job and beat them up. In all these cases, it was always my sister-in-law Yao Ya'an who stepped forward to solve them and resolutely prevented anyone from bullying Qin Feng.
When Qin Feng was 18 years old, he married his childhood sweetheart Li Shuwan. It was his sister-in-law Yao Ya'an who arranged everything, including the betrothal gifts, the name asking, the good news, the betrothal gifts, the date asking, and the wedding ceremony. No one could say anything bad about the General's Mansion, and he was married with three matchmakers and six betrothals.
Li Shuwan's father was a doctor at a pharmacy called Baijitang. Her mother died when she was three years old. Their family rented a house in an alley on a street behind the General's Mansion. Qin Feng and Li Shuwan knew each other since childhood. Qin Feng would bring Li Shuwan any delicious food he had. His sister-in-law also liked this quiet girl. When Li Shuwan was 15, she married Qin Feng. At 16, she gave birth to her eldest son, Qin Muzhou. When Qin Muzhou was six months old, Li Shuwan's father was framed by the owner of the pharmacy. To prove his innocence, his father took poison and died. After his father's death, Qin Feng burned down the pharmacy, and the owner died of drunkenness one night. The relationship between Qin Feng and Li Shuwan deepened.
Qin Feng is very friendly to his elder brother and sister-in-law. He is like a friend to his nephews and also like an older brother. After marriage, Li Shuwan also respects her elder brother and sister-in-law and loves her nephews.
Four years ago, the eldest sister-in-law returned to the general's mansion with a six-month-old belly. Li Shuwan was also six months pregnant. The eldest sister-in-law had been shaking all the way and was very thin. The fetus was unstable. Qin Feng tried every means to supplement the nutrition of the eldest sister-in-law. Fresh vegetables, fruits, poultry, meat, eggs and milk were sent to the general's mansion like water.
Four months later, the eldest brother's third son was born, the fourth child in the family. The child was weak, like a kitten, and the eldest sister-in-law did not have enough milk. Fortunately, three days later, Qin Yueke was born. When he was born, he cried loudly. Qin Feng thought it was another boy, but sighed regretfully, "Alas, old father, I disappoint you again. The Qin family has had no girls for three generations, only boys."
When the midwife brought the baby out, she smiled and said to Qin Feng, "Congratulations, Second Young Master, it's a daughter. She's so beautiful." Qin Feng stepped forward and carefully took his baby, and said in a loud voice, "My daughter, I'm your daddy. Daddy, our Qin family has a baby girl. Hahaha." The daughter in his arms trembled with fright, and Qin Feng quickly shut up, carefully carried his baby daughter into the house, and from then on, he doted on his daughter without any principles.
When Qin Yueke was one year old, at the one-year-old celebration, she didn't look at anything and directly grabbed a small horse whip sent by her grandfather. The whip handle was polished smooth and delicate, and the whip tip was made of soft three-strand leather cut into strips with a red brocade sandwiched in the middle. It was rubbed and made a "crackling sound" when it was swung. From that day on, Qin Yueke never let go of the whip. She couldn't hold it, and it had to be placed where she could see it, otherwise she would cry. Qin Yueke was domineering since she was a child, of course, only to outsiders. She was very protective of her family. She walked and spoke early, and as soon as she could walk, she would hold the whip in her hand and be fierce to people. She would discipline the cats, dogs, chickens, ducks and geese in the house so that they would run away when they saw her, and she would not allow anyone to take a piece of grass from the general's mansion.
Ever since his younger sister was born, Xiao Si had enjoyed a good meal, eating at his aunt's house every day. When Xiao Si was just one month old, his eldest sister-in-law finished her confinement and went to the Northwest Military Camp with his eldest brother again, leaving behind three children. The eldest, Qin Mu Ze, was 11 years old, the youngest, Qin Muchun, was one month old, and the second oldest, Qin Muchiao, was 9 years old.
During these three years, the Northwest Border was in turmoil. General Daddy, Big Brother and Big Sister-in-law had not returned home. Qin Feng and Li Shuwan took the three children with them and raised them together with their own two children, 8-year-old Qin Muzhou and one-month-old Qin Yueke. Until that day, the three children had never seen their parents again...
Qin Feng was sitting in the hall drinking tea. Li Shuwan heard her daughter's cry, put down her teacup, and immediately went to greet her darling. Qin Feng picked up Qin Yueke at the door, touched his daughter's bare feet with his hands, and scolded her, "Why don't you wear shoes? Daddy and Mommy can't get lost, why are you in such a hurry?" The little maid Xiangcao hurriedly handed her shoes. Li Shuwan took them and gently put them on Qin Yueke.
Qin Feng touched his daughter's head and said, "Did someone bully my sweetheart? Who is it? Daddy will go and beat him up."
Li Shuwan looked up at the sky in silence. Both father and son were troublesome. The older one would raise his fists and the younger one would crack the whip. Both the old and the youngest were known as "invincible in the capital." They got into trouble all day long.
When the old one gets into trouble, he solves it himself. When the young one gets into trouble, people come to his house, but he is still arrogant and domineering. The old one still spoils him and says, "What's wrong with beating your child? Look at how cowardly your child is. He only bullies the weak and fears the strong. He can't even beat a 3-year-old girl, and you dare to go back and complain. Get out of my door, or I'll beat you up." Alas.
Qin Yueke hugged her father's neck tightly with both hands, crying loudly and hiccuping several times. She couldn't speak complete words. She stood up and held Qin Feng's face with both hands. She looked at Qin Feng's face with tears in her eyes. It was as if they were meeting again in another life. She wanted to see it carefully. "Daddy, Daddy, Daddy." While calling Daddy, she gently patted Qin Feng's face with her hands. Qin Feng agreed with a distressed sound, "Hey, hey~. Daddy is here, don't cry, don't cry."
