Chapter 39 Yarn

Seeing that it was almost time, Jianshu took the wool and went out. Because he was a little tired from walking too much today, he chose to ride a bicycle this time.

They rode their bikes quickly and soon arrived at the entrance of the state-owned hotel, but it was not yet the time they had agreed on.

The door of the state-owned restaurant was already open, and Zheng Hong was still sitting at the counter, but she wasn't knitting or doing anything else, just staring at the door.

When he saw Jianshu coming, he immediately walked out from the counter to greet him.

"Oh, sister Shu, you're here so early. Come in and sit down." Zheng Hong said politely.

"I just wanted to give it to you, Sister Hong, as soon as possible. Are you impatient?"

"Thank you, Sister Shu. I'm really out of yarn at home. I appreciate your kindness. Come to me if you need anything in the future."

Jian Shu took the wool out of the bag, handed it to Zheng Hong and said, "Then take a look at the goods first and see if you are satisfied."

Zheng Hong checked the wedding yarn and found that the only problem was the dyeing. She said very straightforwardly, "No problem, the quality is very good, just like the ones I bought at the department store. Just name a price, and I'll buy them all if it's suitable."

We still need to talk about the price first. If Jianshu asks for an exorbitant price, it may not be possible to reach an agreement. After all, no one is a fool.

Jianshu had also considered the price in advance. She bought it for 1.5 yuan per kilogram, but she definitely couldn't give this price to Zheng Hong. After all, her ability to buy it was an internal benefit.

"Sister, you know this kind of wool is sold at the department store for two yuan a pound and you need a ticket. I don't need a ticket, I'll just give it to you at two yuan a pound."

Zheng Hong thought the price was quite reasonable. After all, wool yarn without a ticket on the black market was three or four yuan per pound, and it was hard to find. Although this one had some flaws, it wasn't a big deal, so the price was still acceptable.

"I'll take them all at two yuan per pound. Here, this is ten yuan, count it." Zheng Hong counted the money and handed it to Jianshu.

Jianshu took the money without counting it. After all, she had seen it all when Zheng Hong counted it just now.

"It's okay, I trust you, no need to order, just take the yarn, five pounds in total." Although she knew the money was right, it didn't stop her from saying nice things. After all, who doesn't like to hear nice things?

As expected, Zheng Hong was quite happy after hearing Jian Shu's words. This was also a sign of trust in her. She returned the favor and said, "If you have any problems in the future, come to me. I will definitely help you if I can."

Jianshu thanked her for her kindness and chatted for a while. Seeing that some people were starting to come for dinner, he said goodbye to Zheng Hong and went home.

After I got home, I remembered that I seemed to have some yarn tickets, so I planned to use them tomorrow.

It’s been so boring at work these days. I drink tea and read newspapers every day, and I’m entering old age early.

The key is that she often goes to the toilet after drinking too much tea. Now is not like the past, when everyone likes to be lazy and take a shit for pay. Now she drinks tea and reads newspapers for pay every day. Isn't it much better than squatting in the toilet?

You know, the smell in the toilet nowadays is very intoxicating, that's why she doesn't want to go to the toilet often!

I still have to find something to do. The weather is getting colder, and Sister Liu and her friends are knitting in the office every day. It looks interesting and can help kill time.

Buy some wool and learn from them, so that you can also wear new sweaters knitted by yourself.

It was still early, so Jianshu closed the door and entered the space.

The earliest batch of chickens and ducks in the space basically no longer lay eggs, so Jianshu plans to kill them all and store them in the basement.

Otherwise, even if there were a few more mountains, they would not be able to accommodate them. The mountains would be overcrowded with chickens and ducks.

Fortunately, she can use her mind to control the slaughter and depilation of chickens and ducks in the space, otherwise she would be exhausted and unable to clean up all the thousands of chickens and ducks.

The same goes for pigs, cattle, and sheep. Although their number is not as large as that of chickens and ducks, there are still a lot more of them, so some of them need to be slaughtered.

It just so happened that the last time I ate hot pot, I felt that the beef, mutton, etc. I bought before did not taste as good as the vegetables in the space.

After slaughtering the animals, I will make some beef rolls and lamb rolls and save them for later use in hot pot.

The weather is getting colder now. Isn’t hot pot a must-have in winter? Who doesn’t love hot pot in winter?

After three hours of busy work, I finally sorted and packed all the meat. Although it only required the use of my brain, three hours of repetitive activities was a bit too much for my brain, so I needed a good rest.

I was a little tired and didn’t want to cook in the evening. I finally had the braised pork and put the portion I packed away for now.

I browsed through the space like I was shopping at a supermarket, finally choosing a Peking duck. I also went to the fields and picked a watermelon as fruit.

Sitting under the grape trellis, there is a roast duck set meal on the table: duck meat, duck bones, green onion shreds, cucumber strips, noodles and sweet noodle sauce.

There is a fork in a plate of watermelon cut into small pieces. You don’t need to cut it yourself. Everything is very simple under the control of your mind.

If you are not a little tired and don’t want to use your brain, you can just roll up the roast duck and feed it to your mouth without having to do anything.

After dinner, I had nothing to do, so I started to prepare some snacks.

I just harvested a lot of meat, and I plan to make some meat strips, meat jerky, etc., so I can take them out and eat them whenever I want.

First, prepare the beef jerky. Take out 10 pounds of beef shank, cut it into small pieces, and soak it in water to remove the blood. Pour cold water into a pot, bring it to a boil over high heat, and then blanch it for two minutes to remove the fishy smell. After blanching, remove it and rinse it thoroughly.

Put the blanched beef back into the pot, add water to cover the beef, then add appropriate amounts of seasonings such as bay leaves, star anise, cinnamon, peppercorns, ginger, green onions, cooking wine, light soy sauce, sugar, salt, etc., cover and bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer over medium-low heat for 40 minutes.

After stewing, remove the beef and cut into strips along the grain.

Pour more oil into the pan, then add the beef and stir-fry until it changes color. Then add appropriate amount of chili powder, white sesame seeds, light soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and pepper, and stir-fry evenly.

After stir-frying evenly, put it out and put it in the oven to dry out the moisture.

It took ten pounds of beef to make less than five pounds of beef jerky, which was quite time-consuming and labor-intensive. However, after the beef jerky was made, Jianshu tasted it and thought it was worth it.

Although the space can use mind power to help, Jianshu is not willing to do so.

She now has an easy job and basically has nothing to do. Her family has sufficient savings, so she doesn't need to run around for a living.

If she had to control even things like cooking and making snacks with her mind, she would really become a useless person.

And who knows if this space can accompany her for a lifetime? If one day the space is gone and she is used to the easy life of relying on thoughts again, how will she live then?

It was like she was so used to buying ready-made clothes that now she couldn't even make them. This was a bit inconvenient in this day and age. After all, she was alone and it wasn't good to bother Aunt Chen all the time.

She now puts a copy of all the savings books in her home outside as a precaution. Even if the space disappears one day, she will be able to spend the next few years without worries about food and clothing. At most, she will not be as comfortable!
