Chapter 887 Quanjude

There are more and more vendors doing small business. As the only zoo in Beijing, it has a large flow of people on weekdays, so naturally some people have set their eyes on this piece of fat meat.

Look, there are people selling popcorn and candied haws at the door.

"Grandpa, I want to eat candied haws." Gu Yiyi's eyes lit up. Knowing that her mother would not agree, she whispered to her grandfather.

Jianshu's ears were sharp, and he spoke immediately, "Gu Yiyi!"

Gu Yiyi didn't respond, but hugged her grandfather's thigh and acted like a spoiled child, "Grandpa, just buy me one. I haven't eaten candied haws for a long time, I'm so craving it!"

Jian Yucheng glanced at his granddaughter in embarrassment, then looked at his daughter, hesitant, "Why not buy one for Yi Yi? It's New Year's Day today, so let's make her happy."

"Dad!" Jian Shu gave him a disapproving look, "Have you forgotten how she rolled around in pain last time?"

"Mom, can I just eat one? I'll just eat one." Gu Yiyi spoke quickly, stretching out her fingers to gesture.

"One shouldn't be a big deal. It's New Year's Day, and it can satisfy the child's craving. She hasn't eaten it in a long time." Jian Yucheng felt sorry for his granddaughter and pleaded for her.

Gu Mingjing also chimed in, "It's okay to eat it once in a while, as long as you control the amount."

Jianshu looked at his daughter's pitiful eyes, then looked at the two weak-willed men beside him and sighed silently.

"Only one."

"Thank you, Mom!" Gu Yiyi became happy instantly and pulled Jian Yucheng towards the place where candied haws were sold.

After a while, the grandfather and grandson came back with two strings of candied haws.

"Mom will give it to you!" Gu Yiyi handed the larger one to Jianshu, while she chewed on the other one.

"Thank you, baby!" Jianshu took it with a smile.

"You're welcome!"

Smelling the aroma of popcorn, Jianshu went to buy some more popcorn, planning to eat it while shopping later.

Gu Yiyi kept her promise. After finishing the top one, she gave the rest of the candied haws to her father and ate some popcorn herself.

When she bought it, Jianshu specifically reminded her not to put sugar in it, so she didn't stop her and let her eat it.

After entering the zoo, the family followed the crowd and went to the panda house to see the giant pandas. The classic black and white color scheme instantly attracted the attention of all the children.

There were exclamations one after another, and a child's innocent voice could be heard, "Dad, let's buy a panda and raise it! I want to hold it while I sleep!"

The child's father quickly covered his mouth and said, "This is not a good way to raise a child!"

The others also laughed out loud in good faith.

"Mom, I also want to raise a giant panda!" Gu Yiyi said.

Jian Shu: "Go find your dad, I don't have the ability to do that."

Raising a giant panda? Who hasn’t dreamed of this?

"dad!"

Gu Mingjing looked at his daughter's expectant eyes and fell silent.

My daughter, Dad can’t do it either.

He tried to shift the blame to someone else, but when he turned around, Jian Yucheng had already seen that the situation was not right and took Jian Shu away.

Only Gu Mingjing was left struggling to explain.

I don’t know what he said, but when they met again, Gu Yiyi’s wish had changed.

"Mom, when I grow up I want to be a keeper and touch pandas every day. Then I'll let you touch one too."

"Pfft..." Jianshu couldn't help laughing, then forced himself to speak, "Okay, then you must study hard. Caring for giant pandas is a very learned thing."

"I will! I will definitely raise the best giant panda!" Gu Yiyi encouraged herself.

"Then mom will wait!" Jianshu smiled.

Children's wishes are only temporary. When she was a child, she wanted to be a scientist.

Of course, it doesn’t matter if she really wants to be a breeder when she grows up, as long as she likes it.

Jianshu never forces her children to live according to her own wishes. She can do whatever she wants as long as it does not violate the law.

After staying in the panda house for a very long time, Gu Yiyi reluctantly left.

Then we went to Monkey Mountain. The monkeys there were clever and playful, and soon made the little girl smile.

This museum is also the most lively one. The little monkeys inside interact with people flexibly and can imitate them, which often draws cheers from the onlookers.

Not only Gu Yiyi was happy, but the adults were also very happy.

It’s a great pleasure to have a family outing after a busy day at work.

Then they went to Lion and Tiger Mountain, and saw various birds and rhinos... Jianshu stopped at the door of the reptile house and refused to go in. Finally, Gu Mingjing took his daughter in for a look around.

The little girl wasn't really scared, but she didn't like it much either.

Compared to the cute and adorable pandas, the mighty and majestic tigers and lions, and the naughty and clever little monkeys, reptiles are really nothing to look at.

I brought my camera with me when I came here, and I took photos everywhere I went. After walking around the entire zoo, I ran out of film.

It was already past dinner time, and the group was starving and had no energy to continue shopping.

"Let's go eat first. What do you want to eat?" Jian Yucheng asked.

"Roast Duck!"

"Okay, then let's go eat Peking duck." Jianshu agreed readily.

A group of people left the zoo and got on a bus to Quanjude.

Sitting in the restaurant, Jian Shu pushed the menu in front of Gu Yiyi and said, "Come on, today's ordering rights are left to you."

Gu Yiyi took it generously. As a first-grade student, she knew some words, and if she didn't know any, she could find out by asking.

He quickly ordered a roast duck, a stir-fried diced duck, and soft-fried meat. They were all meat dishes, and it was obvious that he was a carnivore.

After Jianshu took it, he ordered a vegetarian dish and asked for six taels of rice.

All the rice was for the two men. She and her daughter were full with just some roast duck, so the two of them still needed some rice to fill their stomachs.

After waiting for a while, the roast duck came up. Gu Yiyi rolled one by herself without any help.

He took a bite and said, "Delicious!"

"The diced duck tastes good too." Jian Shu tasted it and nodded.

I have to say that Quanjude at that time tasted much better than it did decades later.

I'll buy more space when I have the chance.

The duck portion is quite large and is more than enough for four people.

By the time they were almost done with the roast duck, Jianshu was almost full too. Gu Yiyi had left the battlefield early, and now she could only watch helplessly as her father and grandfather practiced the "Clean Plate Campaign."

My mouth is full of greed, but my stomach can’t eat any more.

Seeing how greedy the little girl was, Jianshu had no choice but to buy another duck to pack up and prepare it as an extra meal in the evening.
