Chapter 48 Sleepwalking
Wei Zi was a little unhappy when she saw her put the blanket next to her, but she was always timid and only dared to complain quietly: "Why are you sleeping here with me? I have always slept next to Shengnan. Suddenly I have to sleep with a stranger. I can't sleep well."
Xia Zhizhi looked at her and said with a smile: "You need to be stronger and more mature. Let's sleep together more and we will get to know each other better."
Meng Shengnan looked at Xia Zhizhi and said, "I will kick people when I sleep at night, please don't mind."
Xia Zhizhi had already climbed onto the bed and covered her belly with a thin blanket. "It's okay, it's okay. I don't sleep well either, so don't look down on me."
After saying this, she closed her eyes.
The four of Meng Shengnan were joking, getting out of bed to get some water, going to the toilet, and occasionally they would tickle each other and squeeze her on purpose. She was thin to begin with and didn't take up much space, so she was almost squashed. They never stopped.
After making a fuss for two or three hours, seeing that she didn't say a word, Zhao Jinhua snorted and said to Meng Shengnan with a grin, "It's a dog on the side of the road. I kicked it, and it still barked at me."
It was almost 11 o'clock, and the four of them yawned and fell asleep one after another.
Just as they were falling asleep, they heard a roaring sound.
"Who are you? What are you doing in the middle of the night? Are you trying to kill yourself?" Meng Shengnan was woken up from her sleep and was a little angry.
The hohoho sound continued.
Several other people were woken up one after another.
This room only has one window, which is two meters square. It is covered with several layers of thick window paper. The window is closed at night to prevent mosquitoes from coming in. Although there is moonlight outside, the room is pitch black and nothing can be seen.
Zhao Jinhua yawned and said, "Shengnan, the oil lamp is over there, light it and see."
Meng Shengnan took out a match and lit the lamp while cursing. She saw Xia Zhizhi squatting on the ground. She brought in the whetstone from the kitchen and started sharpening a kitchen knife.
It was obvious that she had a problem with her brain. Meng Shengnan scolded, "Xia Zhizhi, are you sick? You are sharpening your knife in the middle of the night!"
Xia Zhizhi held up the knife that was gleaming white after being sharpened. In the dim candlelight, one could see that her eyes seemed to be closed. She smiled and said excitedly, "It's sharpened, it's sharpened, let's cut the watermelon, cut the watermelon!"
Zhao Jinhua was yawning, so she stepped forward and chopped at Zhao Jinhua's head as she lay there.
The other three people screamed in fear instantly.
Zhao Jinhua was so scared that her soul almost flew away, and she crawled to the side with her pants down and her urine streaming.
The kitchen knife chopped off her braided hair at the back of her head, and it hit the brick on the edge of the kang with a clang, sending sparks flying!
Zhao Jinhua covered her head, not caring whether the back of her head was cold or not. She rolled and crawled to the end of the kang, hugging Luo Zhaodi and trembling.
"Is she, is she crazy?"
Wei Zi whispered, "It seems like she is sleepwalking. Look, her eyes are closed."
A few people were thinking about going to the front yard to call for help from the male comrades, but Xia Zhizhi was holding a knife and blocking the door, so they didn't have the courage to go around her to get help.
"The watermelon ran away, ran away!" Xia Zhizhi walked around the house holding the knife, muttered a few words, and returned the knife to the kitchen.
Then he climbed onto his own bed, covered himself with the quilt, yawned, and fell asleep.
Zhao Jinhua hugged Luo Zhaodi tightly at the head of the kang, while Meng Shengnan and Wei Zi huddled at the foot of the kang, shivering.
The four people were weak, pitiful, frightened and afraid.
Luo Zhaodi whispered, "He should be asleep, right?"
Meng Shengnan plucked up her courage, held up the oil lamp and moved closer, confirming, "She should be asleep."
"Then what should we do?" Zhao Jinhua asked.
"Would you like to go to the front yard to find a gay man?"
Xia Zhizhi was already asleep at this moment. What could she do if she went to find the gay man? She couldn't just wake her up and stop her from sleepwalking.
What's more, everyone has to go to work at dawn, and disturbing people's sleep in the middle of the night will probably cause resentment among them.
Meng Shengnan thought for a moment and said, "It's so late, let's go to bed tonight and talk about it tomorrow."
The four of them huddled together, two by two, away from Xia Zhizhi who was in the middle. Just when they were feeling a little sleepy and hadn't fallen asleep soundly yet, they heard the rustling sound again.
It seems to be ringing in my ears.
Zhao Jinhua jumped up all of a sudden.
Meng Shengnan lit the oil lamp and saw Xia Zhizhi sewing Wu Zhaodi's quilt with needle and thread.
She closed her eyes, with a weird smile on her face, and sang softly while sewing: "Lying mouth, deceiving ghost..."
Although she closed her eyes, it did not affect her rapid sewing.
The window was opened a crack at some point, and a gust of wind blew through, making a creaking sound. The candle in Meng Shengnan's hand was blown out by the wind, and the room lost its only light, and it suddenly became dark.
"Hehehe..." Xia Zhizhi just laughed at this moment.
It was pitch dark in the room and the laughter seemed to explode in their ears.
Meng Shengnan was the bravest among the four of them. She felt a chill running down her back and onto the top of her head, and the hairs on her arms stood up instantly.
"I, I'm scared... sob..." Wei Zi couldn't help but cried softly.
Xia Zhizhi stopped and said, "Who is crying? Don't be afraid. Zhizhi will sew your mouth shut and you won't cry anymore!"
Wei Zi covered her mouth tightly with her hands, her whole body shaking like chaff, but she dared not make any sound.
She sewed the quilt in the dark for a while, then yawned, went to bed and continued to sleep.
The location became more spacious.
The four poor female comrades finally waited until dawn, and seeing that she had no intention of getting up again, they thought of taking a nap and resting for a while.
A few people were just about to fall asleep when Xia Zhizhi quickly threw back the quilt and climbed up.
He got up and pushed them one by one.
While shaking, he said, "Comrades, get up quickly!"
The four old educated youth looked as wilted as eggplants hit by frost.
She held Meng Shengnan's shoulders and shook her vigorously: "Comrade Meng, a day's plan begins in the morning. You need to be energetic! Let it shine!"
After saying that, he held Meng Shengnan's hand and made a heart shape with the shape of a heart above his head.
Meng Shengnan stared at her with gritted teeth.
Xia Zhizhi touched her face, tilted her head, and said cutely: "Is this the first time you see me as such a cute and kind girl? Oh, although I am a good person, I will be shy when you praise me like this!"
After saying that, he jumped out, holding his own basin, and went to the kitchen to fetch water to wash his face and brush his teeth.
Zhao Jinhua and several others came out one after another.
The others were shocked to see that the four of them looked like they had their yang energy sucked away by a male ghost.
Li Mao asked with concern: "What happened to you guys?"
Xia Zhizhi smiled and said, "The comrades were so excited about my joining that they chatted until midnight yesterday and didn't get enough rest."
Li Mao frowned: "You still have to take a break when you are resting, otherwise you won't be able to work with the energy you need."
Just when Zhao Jinhua and a few others were about to complain, the bell for going to work rang for the second time. They had no choice but to wash up in a hurry, eat whatever they wanted and go to work in a confused manner.
After washing up, Xia Zhizhi went back to her room and secretly ate four large loaves of bread and drank a glass of milk and four eggs. After she had eaten and drunk her fill, there was some movement in the other room.
