Chapter 56: A Princess Hug

Geng Ailing stopped talking halfway, fearing that her guess was wrong and inappropriate.

Xie Yongliang had no idea what Geng Ailing was thinking, so he said directly, "You're talking about Nian Nian, right? She's the daughter of my comrade-in-arms. We were on a mission together, and he took a bullet for me and died. Before he died, he entrusted his only daughter to me."

Geng Ailing suddenly realized, "What about Niannian's mother?"

"He died of illness when he was three years old!" Xie Yongliang replied.

Geng Ailing didn't expect that Niannian was so pitiful, and she felt a little sad. She was easily soft-hearted, and she felt distressed when she thought that Niannian had lost his biological parents at such a young age.

"It's so pitiful that Niannian lost her parents at such a young age. You must take good care of her!"

"I will!" Xie Yongliang's tone was full of determination.

The two fell silent again...

Geng Ailing felt that the atmosphere was even more awkward than before. She didn't even dare to look directly at Xie Yongliang and quickly said, "Then go back and keep Niannian company! Call Niannian and Lixi next time and we'll have dinner together!"

After saying that, without waiting for Xie Yongliang to react, he pushed his bicycle away like the wind.

Xie Yongliang was left standing there, shaking his head and chuckling helplessly.

After a few days, Su Wen was finally discharged from the hospital. That day, Fan Xi and Geng Ailing went to the hospital together to pick up Su Wen.

Zhang Shaoyuan carefully pushed Su Wen on his bicycle in front, fearing that she would tear the knife wound. Fan Yu and Geng Ailing walked behind to help carry things.

When preparing to go upstairs, Zhang Shaoyuan refused Su Wen's request to climb the stairs by herself, and instead carried her in his arms.

Su Wen felt a little embarrassed and buried her head in Zhang Shaoyuan's arms, "I can go by myself. Li Xi and Ailing are still here. How embarrassing."

Zhang Shaoyuan didn't say anything, but just held Su Wen tightly, not wanting to drop her.

Fan Xi and Geng Ailing, who were following behind, were fed up with the dog food. They couldn't believe that Editor Zhang, who was cold and taciturn in Japan, doted on his wife so much in private. No wonder Su Wen always looked so happy and nourished by love.

Fan Xi smiled secretly and pulled Geng Ailing past Wen Yuan and his wife to go upstairs first. When passing by Su Wen, he did not forget to wink at her mischievously.

However, I didn't expect that as soon as I went upstairs, I met Cai Ronghua who was about to go downstairs.

It’s the neighbor who looks like the principal and lives in the first house on the first floor.

Ever since Cai Ronghua rejected their chicken soup offer last time, Fan Xi and Geng Ailing were too lazy to bother trying to please him. Occasionally, when they saw him on the floor above, they would just ignore him and walk past him.

Cai Ronghua certainly didn't show any displeasure when he saw them this time, and none of the three paid any attention to each other.

But before Fan Xi and the others had taken a few steps, they heard Cai Ronghua's sarcastic voice on the stairs: "I was wondering why Editor Zhang always takes leave lately. It turns out his wife is sick!"

"Su Wen, I heard you had appendicitis. It's been almost a week now. You should be able to walk on your own now. You're not ashamed to let Editor Zhang carry you up the stairs. Why are you so squeamish?"

Su Wen's face instantly darkened with anger. She replied calmly, "My man just likes to hug me. I'm just spoiled. What's it to you? I didn't hurt you."

Cai Ronghua couldn't help but raise his voice a bit when he heard Su Wen's words, "The building is so narrow, if you want to be affectionate, go home and be affectionate. Don't be so affectionate outside, it's disgusting to see people, and you don't mind being embarrassed!"

Su Wen's face flushed with anger. To gain enough strength for the argument, she asked Zhang Shaoyuan to put her down. She leaned on him and said, "What's there to be ashamed of, Aunt Cai? Didn't you just want to introduce your daughter to Shaoyuan, but he didn't like her? Now you see how loving we are. Don't you look at yourself? Even if your daughter is pretty, she would be disgusted by a mother as sarcastic as you!"

The sound of the two people quarreling attracted many neighbors to come and watch, even Cai Ronghua's husband came out. He stood beside Cai Ronghua awkwardly and pulled her, trying to make her say less.
