On the morning of the next day, the two arrived in Shanghai. After exiting the station, they saw a young man holding a sign at the platform entrance that read: "Warmly welcome Editor Zhou and Comrade Fan to Shanghai!"
Fan Xi and Zhou Qingyun looked at each other and walked straight towards the young man.
"Excuse me, are you Director Zhou from Yangcheng Publishing House and Comrade Fan, the author of the picture book 'Tuantuan and Yuanyuan'?" the young man asked enthusiastically when he saw Fan Xi and Zhou Qingyun coming over.
Fan Xi and Zhou Qingyun nodded in unison.
The young man immediately introduced himself, "I'm the receptionist at the Shanghai Animation Film Studio. You can just call me Xiaolin. Thank you for your hard work. I'll take you to the guesthouse to settle down first!"
After saying that, he led the group into the special car he drove.
As Fan Xi gazed at Shanghai in the 1980s, he felt a surge of emotion. It truly was the most prosperous and developed city of the 1980s, even busier than Beijing and Guangzhou. Even the clothes people wore on the streets were much more fashionable than in Beijing! If he could ever really develop a clothing business in the future, he would definitely make sure to get a piece of Shanghai's juicy pie.
The two were arranged to stay at a luxurious guesthouse. Xiao Lin handed the keys to them. "Editor Zhou, Comrade Fan, you must have traveled all the way to Shanghai. You can take a rest or just wander around. I'll pick you up at the guesthouse at 1:00 PM and take you to discuss the film adaptation of the picture book with our producer!"
"Okay, thank you for your hard work, Comrade Xiaolin!" Zhou Qingyun replied politely.
Fan Xi also smiled and nodded.
After Xiaolin left, Fan Xi and Zhou Qingyun said goodbye to each other and went back to their rooms.
Fan Xi's room was on the fifth floor. This was her first time taking an elevator since she had traveled through the book. When she pushed open the door and looked at the gorgeous decoration of the guesthouse, she had the illusion that she had traveled back forty years.
As expected of Shanghai, it is rich!
She walked into the house on the soft carpet and pulled open the gauze curtain in front of the window. Unexpectedly, it was a river view room. She could actually see the Huangpu River from afar outside the window. Thinking about the high land prices in Pudong District across the street in a dozen years, while Pudong is still a relatively backward area dominated by agriculture, Fan Xi decided that this trip should not be in vain. She must buy an apartment or land in Pudong District!
She closed the curtains again, took out her toiletries, went to the bathroom and took a comfortable bath.
That's right, the most surprising thing about this high-end guesthouse was that the room had a shower! How thoughtful!
Fan Xi had a feeling that the trip to Shanghai in the next few days would be very comfortable!
After lunch, Fan Xi changed into a simple white long skirt, paired with a khaki trench coat, and matching high heels. Her hair was half tied up, and she looked intellectual and capable.
She followed Zhou Qingyun into the conference room of the Shanghai Animation Film Studio.
Sitting in the conference room was a young man in his thirties. He was dressed in a well-tailored suit, with handsome features and a sharp gaze. The moment he saw Fan Xi, a subtle flash of surprise crossed his eyes.
He stepped forward and shook hands with Zhou Qingyun with a smile. "You must be Director Zhou from Yangcheng Publishing House, right? I'm the producer, Lin Munan. I'm very happy that you can come to Shanghai to discuss cooperation!"
