Chapter 132 Old Ideas

Upon arriving at the office, I heard crying inside.

Looking through the window, Yunling saw a young woman crying and complaining about being abused by her mother-in-law, with a bright handprint on her face.

She was the wife of the family at the very back of the brigade, named Wang Xiuyun.

I didn't go in and disturb them.

After all, not everyone is willing to reveal their pain.

She sat under the walnut tree in the yard, leisurely watching the videos she had previously recorded in the gossip system.

"hiss……"

A sharp pain shot through her head, a gust of wind picked up, and a walnut fell, hitting her squarely on the head.

Her eyes darted around, and seeing no one was nearby, she quickly picked up the walnuts and stuffed them into her pocket.

Even the fruit trees along the roadside now belong to the government.

Not to mention the walnut trees in the courtyard, which people are not allowed to pick normally.

"What are you doing?" Cai Shaoyun reached out and waved his hand, touching Yunling's hand. "Aren't you cold?"

Yunling: "Isn't someone inside looking for you? It's not convenient for me to go in."

Cai Shaoyun shook his head: "You too, in this cold weather, just go home and do something else this afternoon. Just finish your work."

The two entered the house, and Cai Shaoyun poured Yunling a cup of hot water, handed it to her, and said, "Here, I know you don't like tea, so I didn't put any in for you."

Yunling thanked her and asked about the woman from earlier.

Cai Shaoyun sighed softly and said, "Her life isn't good either. After giving birth to three daughters, she hasn't been able to get pregnant again. Her mother-in-law is sexist and doesn't want a grandson, so she takes out her anger on her, bossing her around. Today, her mother-in-law was upset outside and took it out on her daughter-in-law when she got home."

"Shouldn't we mediate?" Yunling asked curiously.

Cai Shaoyun shook her head and said, "She didn't let me go because she was afraid her mother-in-law would be even angrier. She just wanted to talk to me."

There are too many of these kinds of incidents, and mediation can't handle them all. Even if you do try to mediate, things only stay peaceful for a couple of days before they start fighting again.

After all, her ideas are deeply ingrained. You can say your piece, but she'll do hers and won't listen at all. It's like talking to a brick wall.

And this isn't even the most serious one.

In earlier years, some grandmothers would simply throw their granddaughters into the mountains behind their homes.

They don't value their granddaughter's life at all.

It wasn't until the police arrested several old women with severe sexism that no one dared to throw their granddaughters into the back mountains.

However, even if they raise the child, it wouldn't be good for the granddaughter, and they would feel it's a waste of food.

It seems absurd and incomprehensible, but that's the truth.

Looking at Yunling's rosy complexion, she sighed, "Your mother-in-law is a good person."

In ordinary families, the young wives are pressured to have children less than three months after they enter the household.

She never heard Zhang Guihua complain. Every time she asked, she would say it was up to fate and she never urged her.

Yunling nodded in agreement.

At home, only when the eldest sister-in-law causes trouble will the mother-in-law step in to discipline her.

They are easy to talk to at other times.

There was no desire to compete with his daughter-in-law.

They get along quite well.

Cai Shaoyun sighed, "If only all mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationships were like this."

The two chatted for a while longer before it was time to eat.

As soon as I entered, I saw Liu Yun helping her mother-in-law, all smiles on her face.

It's like the sun rose in the west today.

Liu Yun looked at Yun Ling, who was washing her hands, and her face fell.

She's really cunning.

He deliberately harmed her.

Her eyes flashed with a fierce light.

Yunling wasn't angry. She nudged Qin Chuan beside her and deliberately asked, "Look, my sister-in-law keeps glaring at me."

Qin Chuan looked over and saw his sister-in-law's expression change instantly. He wanted to laugh but held it back.

He said, "You might be mistaken. Look how kindly your sister-in-law is smiling at us."

Liu Yun: "..."

He smiled on the outside, but cursed inwardly.

Where's your face?

Yunling, where is your face?

How could you smile at me like that?

Seeing his sister-in-law's face changing, Qin Chuan smiled and said, "Let's go! Let's go eat, otherwise your sister-in-law will be getting impatient."

Yunling nodded with a smile.

I misjudged you!

You also make fun of people.

As soon as the two sat down, Liu Yun shoved a bowl of rice into Yun Ling's face and said sarcastically, "Eat more! After all, you use your brain a lot."

The implication is that I'm cunning!

What's wrong with being cunning? At least you won't get taken advantage of.

Yunling looked up, glanced at Liu Yun's rice bowl, her eyes darted around, and said with a smile, "Yes! Doing accounting all day really requires a lot of brainpower, so you should eat more. Sister-in-law, let's switch, you have more in your bowl."

Liu Yun's smile froze instantly.

She quickly declined, saying, "That won't be necessary."

Yunling stood up, pushed her own rice bowl over, and pulled Liu Yun's rice bowl over.

She stirred it, stirring up all the sweet potatoes hidden at the bottom of the bowl.

She exclaimed, "Oh my, sister-in-law is so lucky! There are so many sweet potatoes in the bowl!"

Qin Shan's face darkened.

He instinctively looked at his mother.

Zhang Guihua was speechless for a moment.

As soon as she entered the house today, her eldest daughter-in-law was busy running around with her, making her think she knew she had made a mistake.

I never imagined they were secretly planning to get special treatment.

There are only so many sweet potatoes in the pot; if there are too many of these, there will be too few of others.

She glanced at Yunling's rice bowl.

Tsk tsk, not many sweet potatoes.

She said to her eldest son with mixed feelings, "You really need to keep a closer eye on your wife. Family members shouldn't hold grudges. Even if you want to give her special treatment, you can't do it like this. I didn't make you hand over the things you were secretly looking for."

This is extremely undignified.
