Chapter 27 The Favoritism of Aunt Qian

Qin Tiantian said with a look of relief, "If Mingda had listened to Aunt Qian, he might not be able to get married now. When Mingda got married, the Qian family didn't contribute anything, didn't hold a banquet, and even Mingda's clothes were prepared by the bride's family."

She sighed and said, "Over the years, every time Mingda comes home, Aunt Qian always gives him a hard time. She also criticizes the things he brings. Several times, they even had a fight, and his things were thrown out. There was even a bag of brown sugar in there."

Yunling also felt that Aunt Qian had gone too far, saying, "Doesn't Aunt Qian regret it now? After all, Qian Mingda is a worker now, with a secure job and a decent monthly salary."

In this day and age, having a worker in your family is something to be proud of.

After finishing her water, Qin Tiantian said, "I think Aunt Qian is just putting on a brave face. A while ago, she asked Brother Mingda to find Mingli a job in the city, but Brother Mingda didn't agree. However, he eventually found her a temporary job in a factory. As a result, Aunt Qian was not satisfied. When she mentioned this in the team, she was always sarcastic. It shows that Brother Da is an ingrate."

She said indignantly, "Mingda is such a good person. When I was little, he would always take us kids to pick wild fruits and catch sparrows. He was very generous and never found us annoying."

When she first heard that Aunt Qian wouldn't let Mingda go to school, she wanted to lend him the money she had saved since she was little, but he refused and instead encouraged her to study hard. He was a really good older brother.

Yunling's eyes lit up; she had thought the system only provided food.

Qin Tiantian continued to sigh and said, "We didn't choose our parents, what can we do? Mingda is married and has children now. Be ruthless, ignore Aunt Qian's family, and live your own life."

Yunling nodded: "Yes, but people who lack love from childhood are even more reluctant to give up that distorted family bond."

She had no parents growing up; her parents passed away early, and she lived with her grandmother in the village, where there was a lot of gossip.

Some children, especially those who are ignorant, listen to what adults say at home and then imitate it when they go out to play, cursing her for bringing bad luck to her parents and refusing to play with her.

If it weren't for her grandmother's love, she wouldn't have such a positive mindset as she grew up.

“But I still feel it’s unfair to Mingda. Among Aunt Qian’s children, Mingda is the most obedient and now the most outstanding, yet he suffers the most unfair treatment.”

Qin Tiantian kept nagging, complaining incessantly about the unfair treatment Qian Mingda received.

Yunling wanted to inquire about Zhao Wen and Zhao Wu, but she couldn't find an opportunity to ask.

"Auntie, Third Aunt," Qin Yan called out, rubbing her eyes as she stood at the doorway.

Qin Tiantian stood up and asked, "Are you thirsty? I cooled some boiled water at noon. Would you like some?"

She went to the kitchen, picked up a half-bowl of water, and handed it to Qin Yan.

Qin Yan gulped down the drink and said with a hint of disappointment, "It's a pity there was no sugar."

She glanced at Yunling furtively.

White Rabbit milk candy is really delicious.

I want to eat more.

Qin Tiantian didn't notice, chuckled, pinched her cheek, and said, "The candy is in your grandma's cupboard, I wouldn't dare to secretly give it to you."

Yunling also noticed Qin Yan's gaze, but she didn't intend to indulge her.

To prevent Qin Yan from constantly asking her for things in the future.

Qin Yan sighed in disappointment.

Yunling shrugged and said, "I'll go tidy up the room."

She returned to her room and walked around. The room was simply furnished: a kang (a heated brick bed), two large trunks placed at the head of the kang, a wardrobe that Qin Chuan had repaired a few days ago, and a wooden table.

The original owner had quite a lot of clothes, mostly summer clothes. He had very few winter clothes, and they were all very thin, suitable for wearing in the south during winter. In the north, especially in the snowy winter, they were not cold at all.

There were also some books, mostly revolutionary novels, and a military green backpack containing some food, biscuits, which were already a bit damp. She picked them out and put them on the table. Then she found a handkerchief holding a bunch of banknotes and carefully counted them. There were forty yuan, thirty jin of national grain coupons, two jin of sugar coupons, three soap coupons, and some other miscellaneous receipts, all of which had a long time to expire.

She was satisfied. She carefully put away the money and tickets, placing them at the very back of her package, and then put two pieces of clothing on top of them.

After tidying up my things, I started cleaning the room. I swept the floor, which was paved with blue bricks, but there was a lot of dust in the gaps.

She simply filled a basin halfway with water and poured it on the ground to cool it down.

I changed the bed sheets, pillowcases, and quilt covers on the kang (heated brick bed). It's hot, so I wash these things frequently.

Finally, they tore down the floral curtains and replaced them with dark green, blackout curtains, which the original owner's mother had given her to use as clothes.

But now, compared to making clothes, the most important thing is sun protection.

As soon as the curtains were drawn, the whole room became much darker, and it didn't feel so hot in the middle of summer.

Completely satisfied!

Taking advantage of her free time, Yunling went to the yard to wash the clothes, sheets, and blankets she had changed out of. There were soapberries in the yard, and Yunling tried them. They were okay, but not as effective as regular soap.

Qin Tiantian heard the commotion in the yard and saw Yunling washing bed sheets and blankets, so she went over to help.

Under the blazing sun, it was quite hot. Qin Tiantian looked at Yunling, whose forehead was covered in sweat. She looked even more beautiful, her face fair with a rosy glow. No wonder she was a city girl. Her brother was truly blessed. She said, "Third sister-in-law, you rest for a while. I'll wash the clothes. I'm very good at washing clothes."
