After saying that, he glanced at Aunt Qian with a mocking look and sneered.
She can't even manage her own son, and would rather be a live-in son-in-law in someone else's home than stay at home. How dare she criticize her?
Aunt Qian was furious and glared at Aunt Zhao with her big, bulging eyes.
Yunling watched the show with sparkling eyes, but unfortunately, it wasn't convenient for her to take out some melon seeds to crack open.
She nudged Qin Chuan's arm and asked softly, "I'd like to plant some sunflowers, is that okay?"
Qin Chuan nodded: "I still have sunflower seeds at home, I'll go back and get them for you."
Yunling said softly, "Thank you."
When Aunt Qian saw the smile on Yunling's face, she thought she was being mocked and immediately became displeased. Pointing to the package on the oxcart, she said, "Yun, what did your family send you? Such a big package. Let us country folk take a look and broaden our horizons."
"Just some clothes I used to wear, and some other random stuff, nothing much to see."
Yunling showed no intention of opening the package.
Aunt Qian's desire to take advantage was unmistakable.
Aunt Qian snorted coldly, then looked at the backpack that Qin Chuan was holding, which was full of things, and continued to say sarcastically, "No wonder you are an educated youth from the city, you are rich, you buy a whole bag of things at once."
Yunling smiled and said, "Who made my parents so capable? If they were like Aunt Qian... tsk tsk."
Aunt Qian asked coldly, "What do you mean?"
Yunling raised an eyebrow: "What do you mean by that?"
Aunt Zhao chuckled and pointed at Aunt Qian, saying, "Even a fool could tell that Yun Zhiqing was saying you're incompetent."
Aunt Qian glared at Yunling hatefully and said coldly, "No matter how capable your parents are, you still ended up farming here with us."
She then pointed out, "But Yun Zhiqing, now that you're married, you can't spend money so extravagantly anymore. You have to be frugal like us and save money, otherwise your mother-in-law will scold you if she finds out."
She disliked Zhang Guihua the most. She was the one who met Qin Baoguo first, but in the end, Qin Baoguo was blind and didn't even look at her. He turned around and married Zhang Guihua.
"My mother-in-law is very kind and treats me very well," Yunling said with a smile.
She genuinely thought her mother-in-law was a good person. Since the original owner of this body was in poor health, she found a way to arrange easy jobs for her and even let her take the exam to become the team's scorekeeper. When she saw her sunbathing in the yard, she never made her do any work.
Aunt Qian chuckled and said meaningfully, "I know your mother-in-law well enough. I grew up with her. You're in for a world of trouble."
Yunling remembered the disgusting thing Aunt Qian did—switching babies—and didn't even want to look at her.
He simply said "Oh," his tone completely perfunctory.
Aunt Qian thought she had guessed correctly and smiled with satisfaction.
Back in the team, Qin Chuan picked up his package and walked forward. Yun Ling walked beside him, and only after seeing that no one was around did she ask, "I heard that Aunt Qian particularly dislikes Qian Mingda."
Qin Chuan nodded, looking into her curious eyes, and said, "Since Mingda was four or five years old, he has done all the housework and eaten the worst food. He was often hungry. Once, when he went up the mountain to find food, he fell down the mountain. Aunt Qian didn't want to pay for his medical treatment, but in the end, the doctor couldn't bear to see him like that and treated him for free."
He shook his head and said, "I've never seen this wicked mother."
Yunling blinked and said, "Do you think Qian Mingda is really Aunt Qian's biological son?"
Qin Chuan paused for a moment, then said, "I hope not."
If she wasn't his biological mother, Mingda would no longer expect this maternal love.

It was still past the end of the workday, and only Qin Tiantian was playing with Qin Rui in the yard.
Seeing her and Qin Chuan return, Qin Rui skipped over and circled around Qin Chuan, her big, dark eyes fixed on the package in his hand.
Qin Tiantian greeted them and went into the kitchen to bring out two glasses of lukewarm water. They were very refreshing and thirst-quenching.
After drinking the water, Yunling gave each of them a piece of the walnut shortbread she had bought, along with two milk candies, before returning to her room.
Qin Chuan put the things down and left. Yun Ling sat in the chair, tore open the envelope, revealing the money and letter inside, not bothering to count the money.
Then I started reading the letter. My family knew about my marriage, and although they didn't really approve, they couldn't persuade me otherwise.
The letter asked her how she was doing lately, whether she had been bullied, whether she had enough money, and how the Qin family treated her. Every word revealed their concern for the original owner.
She counted the money and coupons: thirty yuan, equivalent to a month's wages for an ordinary worker; five jin of national grain coupons; one jin of meat coupons; and coupons for other daily necessities.
