A gentle female voice said:
“Your brother will be back soon, so let’s not see each other anymore, lest he find out.”
"It's alright, he won't be back until next week, what's the rush? We'll go to the back mountain tomorrow at noon," the man said leisurely.
“If we go to the back mountain, what will happen to my daughter? Your wife only knows how to take care of your two sons and doesn’t care about my daughter at all. Last time, Zhao Long even threw a rock at Lili, causing such a big wound. The doctor said it might leave a scar.” The girl’s voice suddenly became a little sharp.
"It's Lin Ting and Zhao Wen." A clear male voice suddenly rang in my ears.
Yunling's heart skipped a beat. When she saw it was Qin Chuan, she patted her chest and whispered, "You almost scared me to death."
Don't you know that people can scare each other to death?
Her heart is still pounding.
Qin Chuan promptly apologized: "I'm sorry."
Yunling waved her hand: "It's okay, don't do it again next time, my heart was pounding."
Qin Chuan hummed in agreement. He had been keeping his eyes closed but hadn't fallen asleep. He heard rustling sounds, which stopped after a while. After waiting a bit longer, seeing that Yun Ling hadn't returned, he became a little worried and went out to check.
After searching for a long time, I finally found a huge gecko crawling on the wall. It was listening so intently that it didn't notice me for a long time, even though it was a big guy standing right next to me.
"Aren't you cold?" Qin Chuan noticed that Yun Ling was only wearing a thin coat, and her hair was still wet, with water dripping from the ends.
Yunling shook her head. It was the middle of summer, what was there to feel cold about? Listening to the gossip had her heart pounding; she wasn't cold at all. Then she heard a male voice on the other end:
"Then let Mom watch over them. Lili and Huihui are six years old now, you don't need to watch them all the time. Let's go one more time, the last time." The man seemed to be pleading.
The woman sighed and conceded, "...Fine! This is the last time."
After a while, the sounds of kissing, both "mmm" and "ahh," came from the other end of the line.
Yunling wanted to hear more, but Qin Chuan pulled her back to the room and handed her a towel.
Not hearing the mission completion notification, Yunling blinked, intending to ask Qin Chuan, but seeing his cold face, and knowing the mission was important, she still asked, "Was that Lin Ting and the Zhao family's youngest son?"
My mother-in-law introduced it to her in the afternoon, so she remembered it.
Moreover, Lin Ting, like her, was a sent-down youth.
Yunling stirred her two fingers together and looked at Qin Chuan.
Qin Chuan nodded calmly.
Yunling plopped down next to him and pressed, "How did you know? How long has it been? Does Aunt Zhao know?"
Qin Chuan looked at Yun Ling's curious eyes, then looked at her helplessly and said, "Do you really want to know?"
Yunling blurted out, "Of course."
Being halfway through eating melon seeds is like being halfway through going to the toilet.
I feel so anxious.
Qin Chuan pointed to her hair and said, "Dry your hair first."
If you get sick, you'll have to spend money.
However, judging from her rosy complexion, she shouldn't be sick.
Yunling quickly dried her hair and looked at Qin Chuan expectantly.
Qin Chuan coughed and hesitated, "How about... we talk about it tomorrow?"
He simply couldn't bring himself to say it. In his eyes, Yunling was still a young girl; how could she listen to such sordid things?
Yunling stamped her foot anxiously: "If you don't tell me, I probably won't be able to sleep all night."
Her eyes were urgent.
Seeing Qin Chuan's ears turn red, Yun Ling found it amusing, rolled her eyes, and said, "You're not the one in question, so what's there to be embarrassed about?"
Qin Chuan had never met a girl with such strong curiosity. Seeing her insistence on telling him, he could only say, "I don't know when it started. I discovered it last year. That noon, I went up the mountain to chop firewood. I went to a rather remote place and saw those two people."
Aunt Zhao probably doesn't know that the two women in the brigade rarely speak to each other and are very cautious. I only bumped into them once on the mountain. Everyone in the brigade knows that the two sisters-in-law of the Zhao family don't get along and often quarrel. No one would have imagined that Lin Ting and Zhao Wen were involved together.
It took Yunling a while to come to her senses. She asked in confusion, "Isn't Zhao Wu his biological brother?"
Qin Chuan explained, "They're not related by blood. Aunt Zhao remarried. Uncle Zhao's first wife died in childbirth when she gave birth to Zhao Wu. To take care of the child, he married Aunt Zhao. A year later, Zhao Wen was born. The two brothers used to have a good relationship, and since Aunt Zhao didn't treat them differently, no one in the village would be so tactless as to bring it up."
Yunling frowned: "That can't be done! He's his older brother, whom I grew up with."
Stealing her brother's wife is absolutely disgusting.
Qin Chuan chuckled softly and said nothing more.
Even brothers within the same family can argue endlessly over trivial matters, let alone brothers in a blended family.
However, it is truly disgusting that Zhao Wen did such a thing.
He almost threw up when he first discovered it.
a long time.
Qin Chuan suddenly asked, "Do you want to sleep inside or outside?"
Yunling exclaimed, her red lips parted slightly, her heart skipped a beat, she glanced at him, and said directly, "I'll sleep inside."
Then, feeling embarrassed, she said, "I'm a restless sleeper at night, which might disturb you."
"Then I'll sleep on the side a little further on," Qin Chuan said nonchalantly.
They slept on a kang (a heated brick bed), which was quite spacious, allowing them to move around freely without having to roll off.
Yunling dried her hair, climbed onto the kang (a heated brick bed), and lay down at the innermost part. Just as she was about to get a quilt, she found that there was only one quilt on the kang. After hesitating for a moment, she moved to the side.
I pulled the blanket further in to cover my lower abdomen.
The light went out quickly, and a person was lying next to her, their breathing constantly reaching her ears.
