The voice of the little boy was so hoarse that I could hardly hear it.
Su Li and the village chief both felt a lump in their throats when they heard this.
"No, you're fine, this is in the hospital, don't be afraid."
Su Li touched his head and said, "How do you feel now? Does your head still hurt?"
He rubbed her palm and said, "It doesn't hurt anymore, just a little dizzy."
"Are you hungry? Your uncle Zhengchuan bought some porridge. I'll feed you, okay?"
Dan nodded.
After eating the porridge, Xiaodan looked much better and in better spirits.
Xie Zhengchuan looked at him seriously, "Kid, tell Uncle Zhengchuan how you ended up lying in front of my house with injuries all over your body."
Dan pursed his lips, reached out and held Su Li's hand tightly, watching Su Li slowly begin to recall the love of that day.
He was like an invisible man in Xie Sanwan's house. He worked more and ate less, and hid in the woodshed when he was not busy.
Every afternoon, he would go to Su Li's house with Tiedan to drink ginger tea or pear soup. Sometimes Su Li would give him candy and fruit.
This is the love he looks forward to most every day.
Even though he had a hard time in the Xie family and was bullied by Xie Guangfa and Xie Guangqing, he just had to endure it. Although his life was hard, there were people willing to give him some sweetness.
He had come out that day under the pretext of collecting firewood. Tiedan caught him and gave him two meatballs, which he ate with relish. They talked and laughed happily, and before he died, Baoya stuffed him with some big rabbit candies and a big apple, which he hid in his clothes.
After returning home, Qian Maizi asked him to eat in the kitchen. He first carried the firewood into the house. He looked around and saw that there was no one outside, so he put the candy and apples under the quilt to press them down.
He ate two boiled sweet potatoes in the kitchen, and returned to the woodshed without doing anything else.
When he returned home and checked his bedding, he found that his candies and apples were gone...
At that moment, I was stunned.
That was what Baoya had just given him today. He was reluctant to eat it and wanted to wait until he was extremely hungry before eating it.
He felt numb all over and didn't know what to do.
After thinking for a while, Xie Sanwan and Xie Guangqing were unwilling to pay attention to him and would not come to the woodshed. His mother Qian Maizi would not help him make bedding even if she came. Xie Guangliang was still young, and there was only Xie Guangfa.
He thought that Xie Guangfa would always throw his things and bully him, and now he was more and more sure that it was Xie Guangfa.
She pursed her lips, her eyes turned red with anger, wiped her eyes with her sleeve, turned around and walked out of the woodshed.
He looked around, but couldn't find it in the yard, the main room, or even their room. When he opened the door and walked out of the yard and around the back of the house, he suddenly heard "click" and "click" sounds.
He bravely walked to the haystack behind the house and saw in the moonlight that Xie Guangfa was sitting next to the haystack, happily eating an apple with both hands.
He had never seen his family buy apples. Even if they did, they would not be as big as Tiedan’s apples, nor as red as Tiedan’s.
This is his apple, given to him by Baoya.
"Thank you Guangfa."
Xie Guangfa, who was chewing an apple, shuddered with fright.
Seeing the egg, he quickly finished eating the apple in his hand and threw the apple core away, "What are you doing!"
"You stole my apple."
Xie Guangfa pinched the candy in his pocket and said stubbornly, "No, I don't have it. My dad bought it for me."
Seeing his hand pinching his pocket, Xiaodan said, "You're lying. You still have my candy in your pocket."
Xie Guangfa turned around and ran back home, "Nonsense, you are an unwanted burden, be careful or I will tell my dad and let him beat you up."
Xie Guangfa was so angry that his chest heaved violently and his hands began to tremble. He didn't say much and directly rummaged through Xie Guangfa's pockets.
There was no way Xie Guangfa would let him have his wish, so he spread his balls and grabbed his hands on his clothes.
One pulled, the other pushed, and soon they started fighting.
When Xie Sanwan heard the noise, the two men were already fighting with each other.
Dandan suffered from long-term malnutrition and was often bullied by Xie Guangfa and Xie Guangqing. He was no match for Xie Guangfa at all.
Seeing that his brother Dadan dared not hit his own brother, Xie Guangqing rode on Dadan and beat him together.
Xie Sanwan watched coldly, and when it was almost time, he separated the three children, "Okay, okay, why are you fighting?"
That being said, he was actually looking down at the guy from a superior position.
"He stole my apples and candies."
"I don't, it's mine."
"You have. You still have some unfinished candy in your pocket."
Xie Sanwan stared at Xie Guangfa, and Xie Guangfa shrank his neck.
He obviously felt guilty.
Xie Sanwan knew that his son was lying. "Where did you get such a valuable thing? Did you steal money?"
Dan opened his eyes wide and looked at him in disbelief.
"Those were the apples and candies Baoya gave me. I didn't steal any money."
Xie Guangqing kicked him and said, "You lied, so you stole the money."
The boy was almost crying with anger, "I didn't lie, I didn't steal the money, you guys are bullying me, you guys are bullying me."
Qian Maizi heard the crying of her baby outside, hesitated for a moment, put Xie Guangliang, who was already sleeping in her arms, on the bed and walked out.
Seeing that his partner was still lying on the ground, he went straight to Xie Guangfa and said, "Ouch! Guangfa, what's wrong? Does it hurt?"
"Hmph! You bad woman, it's all because of that burden you brought with you. If it weren't for him, my brother wouldn't have been beaten."
Xie Guangqing pushed Qian Maizi.
When Xie Guangfa heard what his brother said outside, he immediately closed his eyes and started howling.
Xiaodan hurriedly said to Qian Maizi, "Mom, I didn't steal."
Qian Maizi was a little embarrassed, glared at Dadan, and walked to Xie Sanwan's side, "What's going on, boss?"
Xie Sanwan slapped Qian Maizi without saying anything.
"Look at your good son. Not only did he dare to steal money, he also dared to slander Guangfa, saying that Guangfa stole his things. You little bastard, you eat and drink at my expense, and you even dared to steal my money."
Xie Sanwan had long been fed up with Xiaodan, who only ate his family's food. He was not his son, so what obligation did he have to support him?
Seeing Xie Sanwan beating his mother, Dadan struggled to get up and bumped into Xie Sanwan's stomach like a little cheetah. Xie Sanwan was knocked back several steps and almost fell down.
Qian Maizi was startled, stretched out his hand to pull the egg and pushed it against the wall next to him, "What are you doing?"
The light-hearted little boy was pulled out in an instant and slammed heavily against the earthen wall next to him.
Without even looking at him, they hurried to help Xie Sanwan. Seeing that he dared to hit their own father, Xie Guangfa and Xie Guangqing rushed over and started punching and kicking him again.
He stretched out his hand and looked towards Qian Maizi. Although he no longer had much affection for his mother, he still longed for his mother to protect him in his heart.
But, no.
Even when she was helping Xie Sanwan over, her expression didn't change. Xie Sanwan kicked her twice before he felt relieved.
The outstretched hand of the 夢蛋 also dropped down weakly.
When they had fought enough and were all dead, no one thought of taking him home, even though his mother was among them.
He held his head, looking at the direction where Qian Maizi was leaving, his mouth opened, unable to say anything. Only his bright black eyes dimmed, and his eyes were almost covered with mist.
A teardrop ran across the dark face, and the tears mixed with the blood at the corners of the mouth slowly flowed into the mouth. The salty tears were endlessly bitter...
He thought he might as well just die since no one cared about him anyway. He missed his father, his grandmother, and his ex-mother.
He has lost his father, grandmother, and now even his mother.
He is only one person after all.
But suddenly he touched something...it was candy...the candy that Baoya gave him.
It might have leaked out of his pocket when he was fighting with Xie Guangfa. He pressed his forehead. Someone cared about him, Tiedan, Huzi, Shitou, Baoya and Aunt Su Li.
His bony shoulders trembled slightly. He clenched the candy in his hand and slowly crawled into the haystack, using all his strength to pull all the straw onto himself.
