Chapter 10: Antique Hunting (2/2)

Soon it was 3 o'clock in the afternoon, and there was a knock on the door on time. Qiao Qinglu opened the bolt, and Brother Yong, Da Junzi, and Xie Jia came in. Da Junzi was carrying an army green travel bag.

Qiao Qinglu brought them into the main room. Da Junzi counted the clothes while Xie Jia checked his watch.

After confirming everything was correct, Brother Yong pulled out a stack of large unity coins from his pocket and placed them on the table. While taking out the items from his travel bag, he said, "Sister, here is 3,000 yuan in cash, and here are 20 small yellow croakers. These two boxes contain a pair of imperial green jade bracelets, these two boxes contain a pair of sunny green jade bracelets, and these two boxes contain a pair of mutton-fat white jade bracelets; this small box contains a gold-inlaid ruby ring, and this small box contains a pair of pearl jade earrings; this yellow silk is wrapped with a Song Dynasty Ru kiln sky blue glaze plum vase, this yellow silk is wrapped with a Xuande blue and white eight-treasure pattern plate, and this yellow silk is wrapped with two Qing Dynasty Yongzheng famille rose plum blossom pattern bowls. Don't underestimate these jewelry and porcelain pieces. Although there are not many of them, each one is a fine piece, especially the three pairs of bracelets and this plum vase, they are all family heirlooms. If I didn't sincerely want to make friends with you, I wouldn't give these out."

Qiao Qinglu felt her heart beating wildly. She picked up the Song Dynasty Ru kiln celadon glaze plum vase and looked at it carefully.

This plum vase is fully glazed, with fine cracks, a moist glaze surface, pure glaze color, fresh and elegant tones, and perfect appearance. It is truly a family heirloom.

Although she had heard that there were few imitations in this era, there were very few Ru kiln pieces handed down from generation to generation, so Qiao Qinglu still asked Brother Yong how to be sure that these porcelains were authentic.

Brother Yong said frankly, "Sister, I'm going to be honest with you. Over the years, many people have been trading these items on the black market for food to make ends meet. I'm not a smart person, but as the saying goes, antiques are valuable in prosperous times, and gold is valuable in troubled times, so I've saved quite a few. I don't have a good eye for them myself, but I have a friend who's an expert in this field, and he's personally inspected all of these items, so don't worry, they're all genuine."

Only then did Qiao Qinglu realize that although Brother Yong looked rough and rough, he actually had a delicate character. No wonder he was able to escape the crackdown in the 1980s, successfully go into business, and be one of the first people to get rich.

Finding Brother Yong as a partner was such a smart idea! Qiao Qinglu was so happy that she remembered her own car. She quickly said to Brother Yong, "Brother Yong, do you have a way to get it stamped? How much would it cost? I also need to exchange some wine tickets, meat tickets, and industrial tickets. Brother Yong, do you have a way to get Moutai? I want a few boxes."

Brother Yong pulled out a stack of bills. "These are small bills. Take them if you can use them. They don't matter if they're valuable. Just stock up on more goods for me next time. My truck will be there this morning, and you can pick them up from the yard over there when you're free. I'll ask about Moutai and let you know tomorrow."

Qiao Qinglu took out ten wine tickets, five large-denomination meat tickets, and ten industrial tickets from the stack of tickets. Then she asked Brother Yong to write down on a piece of paper what supplies he needed, and she would come back to him the next day to tell him the time and quantity of the next transaction.

Both parties were very happy with this cooperation. Since there were a lot of supplies, Qiao Qinglu left the key to them and asked them to pick it up later.

Qiao Qinglu put the money and the small yellow croaker into her pocket, and carefully wrapped up a few antiques and jewelry and put them into her travel bag. Then she said goodbye to Brother Yong and the other three and left.

Not far from the Xie family's courtyard, Qiao Qinglu turned into the alley. While no one was around, she put the money, small yellow croaker, and travel bag into the study of the small bungalow, and then quickly walked home.

The day went smoothly, and she didn't meet anyone in the tube building. She returned home safely, closed the door, entered the space, removed her makeup, washed up, and quickly came out again. She didn't feel relieved until the medicine was boiled.

Sure enough, the compound soon became lively. People who were off work or school came back, and Qiao's father, Qiao's mother and Xiao Qinyun also came home.

After dinner, Qiao Qinglu said to them, "Mom and Dad, I want Xiao Qinyun to accompany me to the hospital for a checkup tomorrow. I feel like I'm recovering well. If the checkup is OK, I won't need to take medicine anymore."

Qiao's father and mother Xiao Qinyun did not agree with her at first, but after her repeated requests, they had no choice but to agree to her.

After making an appointment with Xiao Qinyun and telling him to bring breakfast over early in the morning, he left and went back to the machinery factory to ask for leave. After chatting for a while, everyone went into the house to rest.

After Qiao Qinglu entered the house, she immediately entered the space. She first used her mind to clean up the beds, cabinets, treasure cabinets, boxes, tables and chairs, flower tables, boxes, newspapers, books and stamp albums in the fabric and daily necessities warehouse. Then she used her mind to move the rosewood treasure cabinet, golden nanmu boxes, huanghuali boxes, huanghuali dressing boxes and the pile of newspapers, books and stamp albums to the study in the small bungalow.

Qiao Qinglu rarely uses this study and doesn't put anything in it. Most of the modern items are kept in the bedroom.

She first placed the two boxes and the treasure cabinet against the wall, and then carefully placed the antiques into the nanmu box; she also placed the boxes containing jewelry into the huanghuali dressing box, and then placed the dressing box and the small yellow croaker into the huanghuali box; finally, she sorted the books, newspapers and stamp albums and placed them on the treasure cabinet.

After doing all this, she completed her daily animal and plant check-in work, and then she leisurely put on a facial mask, drank milk, and soaked her feet.

Qiao Qinglu was tired after walking too much that day and fell asleep as soon as she returned to her room.
