Chapter 28 Trivial Daily Life (Revised) (1/2)

Chapter 28 Trivial Daily Life (Edited)

The porcelain counter where Qiao Qinglu works, also known as the daily porcelain counter, mainly sells daily necessities and practical porcelain, such as enamel plates, enamel pots, flashlights, thermoses, tin lunch boxes, straw hats, folding fans and old-fashioned painted porcelain teapots, tea cans, teacups, tea saucers, etc., so the workload is not small and it is not an easy job.

Qiao Qinglu just came to work today. She works diligently and does not dare to relax. She stands at the counter and serves customers with a smile.

She first asked customers to line up and buy, and not to crowd or cut in line. If a customer did not line up, or cut in line maliciously and was discovered by her or other customers, she would not sell the goods to him, as it was his own time that was wasted.

You know what, these days the salesperson’s words are very effective, no one dares to cause trouble and just lines up obediently in front of the counter.

Then, she received them one by one in an orderly manner.

Not to mention, her place was no longer as noisy as a vegetable market, and her sales efficiency increased a lot. Soon the line shrank from a long one to a shorter one.

Those who came to buy things later saw that everyone was queuing up, and when they asked what was going on, they also lined up obediently.

Everyone buys things in the order of first come, first served, without any disputes. They can buy the items they like quickly and everyone has a smile on their face.

Deputy Director Qin was a little surprised to see this scene when she came downstairs. She originally thought that something had happened to Qiao Qinglu at her workplace last time, and she was worried about Qiao Qinglu's physical condition, so she wanted to come over to help.

Unexpectedly, Qiao Qinglu's counter was doing its job in an orderly and professional manner, while the other counters were noisy, messy and disorderly.

Deputy Director Qin felt more and more that Qiao Qinglu was a good girl. She used to perform just averagely, but now she seemed to have made a lot of progress.

Deputy Director Qin stood there for a while. She noticed that whether she was facing the workers or the peasant aunt, Qiao Qinglu was always warm, polite, generous and decent in her treatment of people. These shoppers were also quiet and took the initiative to line up.

She walked over and asked the customers in line, only then did she know that Qiao Qinglu had set a rule that one had to queue before buying anything.

Most people have a herd mentality when buying things. If they see others doing it, they will follow suit.

Besides, the sales clerks are very popular nowadays. If you really make them angry, they will not sell to you at all. Everyone wants to buy things and leave early, so who would deliberately do something annoying? So the line continued like this.

Deputy Director Qin increasingly felt that Comrade Xiao Qiao was smart, flexible, proactive, and able to find ways to solve problems.

She was very pleased to see this scene and decided to bring it up during the morning meeting tomorrow so that everyone could learn from her.

Qiao Qinglu only saw Deputy Director Qin come out and walk towards the counter. She didn't know what Deputy Director Qin was planning. She really didn't want to be in the spotlight. She was just used to shopping in an orderly manner and didn't want her counter to become a vegetable market.

After lunch, she planned to go to the stationery counter to buy a piece of red paper, a brush, an inkstone, ink and glue, write "queue up to shop, no queue cutting" and "Respect others, then others will respect you" and stick it on the high counter behind her, so that it would be easier to explain to customers.

Standing behind the counter for a whole day is quite tiring. Fortunately, she has taken care of her body, otherwise her calves would definitely be cramped after a day.

It was finally noon and there was an hour's break. Everyone took their lunch boxes to the cafeteria to eat, and Qiao Qinglu was no exception. She didn't want to be criticized for this.

After getting their meals from the cafeteria, everyone sat down in groups of three or four, except Qiao Qinglu, who sat alone at a seat by the side to eat.

She was eating, matching the characters in her memory with reality one by one, when Deputy Director Qin unexpectedly sat down next to her with a lunch box.

Deputy Director Qin said with a smile, "Xiao Lu, when I walked past the counter this morning, I noticed you were doing very well. There was a long line outside the counter, but no one was impatient; everyone was smiling."

Qiao Qinglu smiled politely. "Deputy Director Qin, you're too kind. I came up with this idea just to make things easier for everyone. Queuing is a small matter, but the sooner customers line up, the sooner they can buy what they want. If customers don't want to wait in line and are afraid of wasting time, then they should come earlier. Time is precious, your own time is precious, and so is the time of others. Only by respecting others can you earn their respect."

Deputy Director Qin couldn't help but praise him, "You said it very well. It would be great if every salesperson had your awareness and could come up with good solutions like you."

She decided to talk about this matter at the morning meeting tomorrow and to promote it to the entire supply and marketing department.

After finishing lunch, Qiao Qinglu washed the lunch box and put it away, then went to the cultural and sports counter.

The salesperson at the stationery and sports counter was Zhang Mudan. She had a good impression of Qiao Qinglu. After asking Qiao Qinglu what the red paper was for, she cut two sheets of red paper for her and handed her a brush, inkstone, ink and paste.

After paying the bill, Qiao Qinglu thanked Zhang Mudan and left the porcelain counter.

After she finished writing on the two pieces of red paper, she posted one on the left and one on the right high up on the counter behind her, making them particularly eye-catching.

When colleagues passed by the counter, some of them were curious and came over to ask her what her intention was. She told them the benefits of queuing for shopping; some of them curled their lips and whispered something to the side; some of them just took a look and left.

Qiao Qinglu didn't care what they thought of her or what they would do next. They were all adults, and their actions had nothing to do with her.

There were more customers in the supply and marketing department in the afternoon, and at first a group of people crowded in front of Qiao Qinglu's counter, making it a mess.

Every customer wanted to squeeze in front of the counter. They held out their bills and shouted that they wanted to buy something, but Qiao Qinglu ignored them. Instead, she pointed to two pieces of red paper behind her and told everyone that they had to queue up before they could buy anything.

After seeing the red paper at the back, most people lined up on their own accord.

Qiao Qinglu also explained to some customers who did not understand that if they did not queue up or cut in line maliciously, Qiao Qinglu would not sell them the goods, and delaying would only waste their time.

Because of the salesperson's dignified manner, everyone didn't want to cause trouble and lined up obediently.

Later, everyone was really happy because they found that they could buy what they needed very quickly and in a much shorter time than expected.

Then some people still had things to buy, so they ran to other counters and found that it was still the same as before, with no queues and they had to squeeze and shout until they were sweating profusely and their voices were hoarse before they could buy what they needed.

It's time-consuming, laborious and tiring. It's better to queue up.
