Chapter 59 Three-Day Tour of the Military Region (2/2)

Qiao Qinglu patted the heads of the three children and said, "Okay, let's go out."

She turned on the flashlight and asked Tangyuan to hold it. Then she picked up Tangyuan, turned off the light, and walked out of the yard and came to the gate with Mantou and Doubao.

Seeing several people coming out, Captain Liu got out of the car, lifted the three children onto the front seat of the truck, and let Qiao Qinglu sit on the front seat. Then he ran to the back compartment.

The car almost stopped at the gate of a military compound. The guard at the gate came over for a routine check and let us pass. After a while, we arrived at the place, which was a guesthouse.

Captain Liu took Qiao Qinglu and the children to the front desk to check in, arranged a double room for them, asked them to rest early, and asked Ke Bin and others to come over at 7 o'clock tomorrow morning.

Qiao Qinglu thanked Captain Liu and asked the front desk for two thin blankets before taking the children upstairs.

Just now, she had told Captain Liu everything she knew and guessed. Now it was up to them. She looked down at the three little kids, who were so sleepy that they couldn't open their eyes. She decided to coax them to sleep first.

There were only two beds in the room and no bathroom, so Qiao Qinglu took the three children to the bathroom to wash up, then went to the toilet before returning to the room.

There was a bed against the wall in the room. After Qiao Qinglu moved the middle bedside table out, she pushed the other bed over, and the two beds became one big bed.

Then, she took the quilt on the bed and covered the part against the wall, and took another quilt and placed it horizontally under her feet. Then she let Mantou, Doubao and Tangyuan get on the bed. She lay on the outermost side so that she would not be afraid of the children falling off the bed.

They were so tired today that they fell asleep quickly after covering themselves with a thin blanket.

A loud wake-up call woke up the four people from their sleep.

Qiao Qinglu looked at the time, 5:30, well, it was a bit early, but that's how it is in the military camp, so since she was awake, she might as well get up.

Qiao Qinglu went to wash up first, and then waited until 6:30 before waking up the three children to wash up. Then she changed their clothes and tidied them up. At around 7 o'clock, they went downstairs.

Ke Bin and He Linqing were already waiting at the door of the guesthouse. After having breakfast in the cafeteria next door, they went to Captain Liu's office together.

Captain Liu was drinking tea. When he saw them, he immediately stood up and welcomed them in. "Qiao Xizhi, thank you for your reminder. After a thorough reconnaissance last night, we not only caught Yuan Weimin and his accomplices in the hospital, textile mill, and machinery factory, but also his mastermind—Liu Yu. He's the head of the Revolutionary Committee. He was responsible for the two incidents you've encountered recently, as well as yesterday's kidnapping. He has strong anti-reconnaissance capabilities. Sensing that things were bad, he disguised himself and tried to escape last night. Fortunately, we set up checkpoints at the exits and stopped him."

Qiao Qinglu breathed a sigh of relief when she heard this. "It's good that they've caught them all. Have you contacted Xiao Qinyun yet?"

Captain Liu took a sip from his teacup and said, "Of course, otherwise I wouldn't have the time to chat with you today. After capturing Liu Yu last night, we urgently contacted the troops in the northwest and took control of the project team and the Northwest Farm personnel. We also have news from Xiao Qinyun. He is safe and will be back in a week if nothing unexpected happens. Over the next two days, we will continue to interrogate Liu Yu and the others, and the Northwest will also investigate and question the project team and farm personnel. We will soon get to the bottom of this matter."

After hearing this, Qiao Qinglu asked Captain Liu, "Captain Liu, according to what you said, the people have been controlled. Are the children and I safe? We should be able to go home now, right?"

Captain Liu smiled and said, "It seems that Qiao Zhi is not satisfied with our guesthouse. But you should stay for two more days. Once we have thoroughly interrogated him and confirmed that it is safe, you can go back."

Qiao Qinglu: "Okay, now that you've said this, if I refuse again, it would be really ungrateful. Can I take the children for a walk in the yard tomorrow?"

Captain Liu: "Yes, Ke Bin, He Linqing, you must serve as good guides for Qiao Zhizhi and the children over the next few days."

Ke Bin and He Linqing stood at attention and saluted. "Got it. We promise to complete the mission."

So, Qiao Qinglu and Mantou, Doubao and Tangyuan happily went on a three-day tour to the military region.

In the morning, Mantou, Doubao and Tangyuan would all run to the mating ground and imitate these cutest people in boxing.

Then, I followed my mother to observe the big trees, leaves, flowers, ants and other plants and animals, and then played games with the children in the yard, such as playing with stones, building sand piles, or playing hopscotch and hide-and-seek. When I was tired of playing, I went back to the guesthouse with my mother to wash up, have lunch and take a nap.

In the afternoon, we go to the basketball court to watch the uncles play basketball. Then the little kids will play football with the children in the yard, or play other games. When they are tired, they will go back.

After a few days, the children won the hearts of a group of older brothers, uncles and aunts in the yard, and made many friends. They ate well and slept well every day, and they almost forgot which way their front door opened.

Captain Liu finally finished everything, and on the afternoon of the fourth day, they met in the office again.
