Chapter 126 The Package Was Replaced
Gao Sulan avoided her outstretched hand, walked into the house with the package, and put it in the room where she lived.
Song Shuyan followed her into the house.
The two of them looked at the tightly wrapped package together.
"Want to open it and take a look?"
Gao Sulan was eager to try and handed her a pair of scissors.
Song Shuyan opened the package.
All I saw was a pile of rags.
Gao Sulan was shocked, but she still looked underneath and found only rags.
"What does this mean?"
Spend money to send a bunch of rags?
The postage is worth more than these scraps of rags!
Song Shuyan looked calm. When she picked up the package, she looked at the shipping address. The package was sent from the Song family in Yanjing. There was no need for Song's father and mother to do such a thing.
Then there is only one answer.
Song's father and mother wanted to send something to her, but the item was swapped by someone.
Gao Sulan closed the package and looked at the address.
I guessed something too.
She looked at Song Shuyan thoughtfully, and only breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that she was not sad or angry.
Anyone with a discerning eye would know that it was the other two girls from the Song family who were responsible.
She dragged Song Shuyan out and said, "Let's go call the Song family and tell them that the package has been received."
Song Shuyan stopped and said, "Hey, wait! My parents haven't finished get off work yet at this hour."
Gao Sulan stopped and said, "Yes."
Gao Sulan pulled Song Shuyan back into the room, closed the door, and asked quietly, "Did your two sisters think you would be embarrassed to tell your parents that the package was replaced, so they were so fearless and kept the things they gave you?"
Song Shuyan: "Should be...right."
If it were the original owner, maybe he would have just let it go.
She knew that she was not the biological child of the Song family, and felt sorry for Song Yan. Even if she guessed that it was Song Yan's doing, she would still think that it was better to mind her own business.
She is different!
Since the things sent by Song's father and mother didn't reach her, of course she had to let the parties involved know!
"Those two in your family are really hard to get along with."
Song Shuyan smiled and said, "Well, fortunately, we are far away from them now, so they won't cause any trouble."
The aunts working in the living room pricked up their ears and listened, but they could only hear the sound of talking, but could not hear clearly what the people in the room were saying.
The door Zhou Jingshen chose had thick panels and tight seams, and the sound insulation effect was quite good.
They were all curious about what was in the package Song Shuyan brought.
However, the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law came out and closed the door of their room at any time, so it was not convenient for everyone to stare into other people's rooms.
One aunt, unable to contain her curiosity, asked directly, "Hey, Comrade Song, who sent you a package? What did it contain?"
Song Shuyan smiled and said perfunctorily, "Well, just some old clothes that I left at home and didn't bring with me."
Gao Sulan changed the subject, "Shuyan, what do you want to eat for lunch? Should we cook it ourselves, or wait for Jingshen to come back for food?"
In the morning, Zhou Jingshen brought her breakfast and told her not to make lunch. He went to the cafeteria to bring it back for her.
Song Shuyan actually wanted to go back. There were too many people in the room, and she felt uncomfortable because she couldn't help with the work.
Gao Sulan had already entered the kitchen, brought out a boiled egg, and stuffed it into her hand. "Have you had breakfast? Want to fill your stomach?"
Song Shuyan hurriedly said, "I've had breakfast, I'm not hungry now!"
She returned the boiled egg to Gao Sulan and said, "You should eat this."
One of the working aunts took the initiative and said, "If you want to cook for yourself and don't have any vegetables, you can go to my vegetable garden and pick as much as you want!"
"Yes, you can pick whatever you want from my garden. At noon, I'll go pick some vegetables too. Can I show you around?"
Gao Sulan kept thanking him.
"That's a good feeling!"
"I bought oil, salt, sauce, vinegar, and some rice and flour. I was just thinking of showing off my cooking skills to Shuyan!"
Song Shuyan blushed and smiled shyly.
She asked one of the aunts to borrow some needle and thread, went back to the house, took off the rubber band that tied her hair, fiddled with scraps of cloth, sewed a circle around the outside, and then sewed a bow on it.
Busy with work.
The ordinary rubber band has become advanced.
It was noon.
Gao Sulan knocked on the door. "Shuyan, I'm going for a walk in the fields with my aunts. Do you want to come with us?"
Song Shuyan tied her hair up and said, "Okay, I'll go with you!"
She opened the door.
Gao Sulan looked at her and blinked.
Hmm, why does it feel like she's a little different from when she came this morning?
Gao Sulan's eyes fell on Song Shuyan's long, black and smooth hair, and she suddenly realized.
The hair accessory on her head has changed!
This bow is lively and cute, so nice.
She asked in surprise, "Shuyan, did you make this headdress yourself?"
Song Shuyan touched the bow on her head and smiled, "Well, does it look good?"
"nice!"
The aunts also gathered around to watch.
“It’s really beautiful!”
"Comrade Song, was this what you were doing in the room just now?"
"Yes!" Song Shuyan nodded.
"How is it made? I want to make one for my daughter."
Song Shuyan covered his mouth and laughed, "Then I'll teach you this afternoon. Bring an ordinary hair tie rubber band."
The rubber bands sold by the supply and marketing cooperative are colorful plain circles that don’t look very good.
A smart aunt can just take a look, think about it, and then imitate it.
It's just that they usually don't have the time for this.
Now seeing Song Shuyan dressed up so beautifully, I feel itchy and want to dress my own child like that, thinking that it doesn’t take much effort to modify a rubber band.
I am old and I don’t look good in clothes.
Dressing up my daughter is a way to make up for my childhood regrets.
Who doesn’t like to dress up beautifully when they are young?
Everyone walked and talked as they went to the fields.
An aunt pointed and said, "Look, this side, and the land over here, it belongs to us. We're planting radishes, Chinese cabbage, spinach, and lettuce. You can pick whatever you like."
There was an aunt who had planted a few sugarcane plants in her field. When she saw Song Shuyan looking at her for a few more seconds, she walked over generously, broke off a piece, and came back to hand it to Song Shuyan.
"Take it!"
"This is sugarcane. Try it with Sister Gao. It's very sweet!"
Song Shuyan was flattered and took the sugarcane, "Thank you...thank you!"
I was thinking about how to return the gift.
"What do you want to eat today?" another aunt asked.
"Well, can we pick some lettuce?"
"Can!"
My aunt went to the field skillfully and picked the tender hearts of the lettuce.
"This one needs to be pinched at the top, otherwise it will grow back."
Song Shuyan observed that the top of the lettuce plant was very forked.
She used to think that lettuce was eaten by picking leaves, but it turns out that it was eaten by breaking off the whole branch.
She put down the sugarcane and started picking vegetables. She felt a sense of accomplishment as she watched the number of vegetables in her hands gradually increase.
Gao Sulan followed suit and picked some, then when she saw that she had almost had enough, she quickly called out, "That's enough!"
“There’s too much to eat.”
Only then did the aunt withdraw her hand and handed the lettuce in her hand to Gao Sulan.
