Chapter 24 Moving

Cheng Mingyue stopped having wild thoughts and her most urgent task now was to pack up her things quickly.

After moving to the old house, she and Lu Chen slept in separate rooms. This was something she and her father had agreed on before.

Cheng Mingyue was packing up her things skillfully, and Lu Chen was not idle either, following beside her to help.

Soon the two of them finished packing everything.

Cheng Mingyue was holding a pile of clothes in her arms and a big bag in her hands, while Lu Chen followed behind Cheng Mingyue holding bedding.

When they arrived at the old house, the village chief and others were already waiting there.

Wang Guihua took the quilt from Lu Chen's hand and glared at Cheng Mingyue in anger, "Why are you so stupid? Your mother naturally prepared new quilts for you when you got married. What are you doing with this?"

Cheng Mingyue: "..."

No one told her, so how would she know?

After Cheng Mingyue put down her things and walked around the house, she was dumbfounded.

What's going on? Why is there only one room with a kang?!

She stared at the village chief with wide eyes, but the village chief pretended not to see her and slipped away with his hands behind his back.

Cheng Mingyue looked at her mother, brother and sister-in-law, but no one paid any attention to her. They all ran out in a hurry.

Cheng Mingyue really didn't expect that they would do this to her.

What should we do then?

Is she going to live with Lu Chen?

It would be better to kill her!

She still has to enter the space. If they live together, she will be discovered sooner or later.

Lu Chen also noticed Cheng Mingyue's dilemma: "It's okay, I can just go to the other room and sleep on the floor."

Cheng Mingyue was quite moved after hearing this, but then she thought that Lu Chen already had a leg injury and the humidity in their mountain was very high, so she really couldn't bear to let a wounded man sleep on the floor.

Cheng Mingyue glanced at the earthen kang in the room and found it was quite large. Even if five or six people slept side by side, there would be no problem at all.

After thinking for a moment, Cheng Mingyue casually pointed to the east and said to Lu Chen, "You sleep over there, I'll sleep over here, and hang the sheets in the middle so that we won't disturb each other."

As soon as she finished speaking, Cheng Mingyue began to make the kang. She quickly pulled the new bedding prepared by her mother to her side and threw the old bedding that Lu Chen brought to him.

Lu Chen said nothing.

On the contrary, he thought Cheng Mingyue's arrangement was quite good.

After all, they are not very familiar with each other. If they really live together, he will definitely feel uncomfortable.

Lu Chen made the kang and went out. Cheng Mingyue didn't even raise her head and continued to busy herself with her own things.

When Cheng Mingyue was making the kang just now, she discovered that the new bedding on the kang was the dowry from her eldest and second sister-in-law.

Zhang Hongying and Zhang Lan were quite favored at home. When they got married, their family prepared two new quilts for them. I didn't expect that they would be so generous and willing to let her use them.

Cheng Mingyue felt warm in her heart.

Zhang Hongying and Zhang Lan actually took the initiative to offer to give the bedding to their sister-in-law.

They had this idea when they heard Cheng Mingyue say that she wanted to let Cheng Xiaolong and Cheng Xiaohu go to school.

When Wang Guihua heard that her two daughters-in-law were going to give her daughter new bedding, she was so happy.

Every elder in the family hopes that the whole family can live in harmony. In the past, Cheng Mingyue was too troublesome and often made her two sisters-in-law angry. She often worried about this matter.

Now that she saw that the two sisters-in-law got along so well, the big stone in her heart finally fell to the ground.

However, she would not use her daughter-in-law's things for nothing. After she was done with this busy period, she would replenish them and would never let her daughter-in-law suffer any loss.

Cheng Mingyue had the same idea.

Cheng Mingyue made the bed and went to put other things in order.

After working for a while, I looked around and felt that the house was lively and had a homey feel.

She turned and went to the kitchen.

There was a somewhat tattered cabinet in the kitchen. When she opened it, she saw four small bags inside. She untied the bags and looked at each one.

A small bag of sweet potatoes, a small bag of potatoes, a small bag of flour, and a small bag of brown rice.

The cooking pot also has some cracks, but it doesn't affect its use at all, and it has been brushed to a shine.

The other cooking utensils were also complete, but there was a sense of age.

Many of them are a bit old.

However, Cheng Mingyue didn't feel disgusted at all. On the contrary, she felt very warm in her heart, and even her nose felt a little sore, and tears couldn't help but flow down.

In an era of affluent life, these things would naturally be nothing, but in today's era, they become even more precious.

Cheng Mingyue wiped her tears with her hands and walked out of the kitchen.

She stood in the yard and looked around.

This old house seems to have three rooms: a main room, which is where they live now, a kitchen, and a side room. She just went in to take a look and saw some miscellaneous items inside.

Cheng Mingyue wanted to convert the utility room into a bathroom, so that it would be safer to take a shower in the room.

Although she can go to the space to take a shower, she still has to pretend.

Just as Cheng Mingyue was thinking, Lu Chen came back with something in his arms.

Cheng Mingyue thought, it turns out that he had just gone to the educated youth site to move his things.

After Lu Chen put his things away, Cheng Mingyue slowly spoke: "Help me hang up the bed sheet later."

"good."

"There's also a vegetable garden in the yard. I want to grow some vegetables. Can you help me plant some..."

"good."

"And this utility room, I want to turn it into a bathroom."

"good."

Cheng Mingyue mentioned several things, and Lu Chen responded "OK" to each one, which made Cheng Mingyue a little stunned for a moment.

It seems like it feels good to have a man at home.

At least some of the manual labor is done.

Lu Chen was very decisive and completed all the tasks assigned by Cheng Mingyue in a short time.

Cheng Mingyue's eyes lit up for a moment, and the corners of her mouth unconsciously curled up slightly.

In the evening, Cheng Mingyue simply steamed some brown rice and fried a plate of shredded potatoes.

The two of them sat at the small wooden table and concentrated on eating. No one spoke, but Cheng Mingyue raised her eyebrows when she saw Lu Chen eating shredded potatoes, and her eyes brightened a little more than before.

She couldn't help but find it a little funny.

She really didn't realize that this guy was a foodie. How could he be so happy with just a simple plate of shredded potatoes?

He had eaten a few meals at her house before, but his reaction at that time was very indifferent.

Cheng Mingyue came to the conclusion in one word: pretending!

Cheng Mingyue wanted to lose weight, so she put down her chopsticks after eating only a few bites, rested her elbows on the table, and watched Lu Chen eat.

She found that Lu Chen was particularly handsome. People say that beauty is best seen under the light. Now under the dim light, Lu Chen looked more hazy and beautiful than during the day, and also looked more... gentle!

That’s right, it’s gentleness!

During the day, Lu Chen looked very dull, often with a cold face, making it impossible to guess what he was thinking. But at this moment, Lu Chen's brows were relaxed, and he had the temperament of a gentle and noble gentleman.
