Chapter 62: Catching Human Traffickers

Cheng Mingyue thanked the old man and ran towards the police station.

After running all the way to the police station, Cheng Mingyue discovered that it was not far from the Civil Affairs Bureau.

She passed by here last time when she and Lu Chen got their marriage certificate, but she was preoccupied with other things at the time and didn't have time to take a good look.

When Cheng Mingyue ran into the police station, she was already panting and sweating profusely. While panting, she said to a police officer, "Comrade police officer, I found a den of human traffickers..."

"What? You said you found the human traffickers' hideout?" A policeman rushed to Cheng Mingyue and asked.

"...I saw them holding a little boy, and I heard them say they caught a fat sheep. I don't know if my guess is right..."

Cheng Mingyue wondered if she was a little too impulsive, but when she saw the situation, she couldn't just stand there and do nothing.

Cheng Mingyue thought the police were going to question her further, but she heard the police officer shout to the people on the other side, "This female comrade has discovered the human traffickers' den. Maybe we can follow the clues and find Director Liu's son."

When those people heard this, they all ran towards Cheng Mingyue excitedly. One of them, a man in a Zhongshan suit, was particularly excited.

He tightly grasped Cheng Mingyue's arm, his voice trembling: "Comrade, you really found the human traffickers' den, have you seen my son?"

Cheng Mingyue looked bewildered: "Your son?"

The man quickly said, "My son's name is Liu Xiaochuan, he's four years old, and he's wearing a blue Dacron shirt and black pants. Did you see him?"

Cheng Mingyue pondered for a moment. The little boy in the woman's arms seemed to be wearing clothes like that. "I just saw a woman holding a little boy. His clothes were similar to what you described. I just don't know if he is your son."

The man got even more excited when he heard this. "Where is he? Take me there quickly. He must be my son!"

A police officer grabbed his arm and said, "Director Liu, calm down. Now that we know their location, we can definitely catch them and rescue Xiaochuan. Wait here, we'll be back soon."

The man wanted to say something, but was stopped by another police officer. "Not only will you fail to save your son now, you might even alert the enemy, which would be detrimental to the rescue. Trust us, we can definitely get Xiaochuan back."

The man named Director Liu then slumped down in his chair, but his eyes were staring at Cheng Mingyue.

Cheng Mingyue nodded at him and ran towards the courtyard with five policemen.

Finding the place was easy, but something went wrong during the rescue process.

They first waited at the door until dark, and when the lights in the house were turned off, they waited for a long time before jumping into the yard and quietly opening the gate.

Several police officers filed in and quickly took control of a man and a woman in the house.

"Where are you hiding the child you kidnapped? If you know what's good for you, tell us the truth and we'll give you a lighter sentence."

The woman, her hands tied behind her back, looked at the police officers with a look of grievance and said, "Comrade police, this is truly unfair. We are law-abiding citizens and have never done anything harmful. What do you mean by child? I really don't know."

Another big man also had a sad face and shouted: "My wife is right, we really don't know what the child is. You are really wronging us."

The police officer pointed at Cheng Mingyue and said, "This woman saw you kidnap a little boy with her own eyes. Don't try to deny it. If you confess, you might be able to get a lighter sentence."

The two looked at Cheng Mingyue with even more grievance in their eyes: "Girl, we have no grudge against you, why are you accusing us? Is there any justice in this world?"

Cheng Mingyue was almost amused by these two people who were trying to turn the tables. "Comrade police, let's search the yard first. I'm definitely not mistaken. I came looking for you as soon as I found out. The child is definitely still in the yard."

At this time, several other police officers also walked into the house and shook their heads at the leader: "Boss, we've searched the entire yard, but still can't find him. Could this woman have made a mistake?"

"Did they really not find anyone? Could there be some secret passage or secret room?" Cheng Mingyue absolutely believed what she saw and heard, and also believed in her own judgment.

The leader first glanced at Cheng Mingyue, then at the man and woman who had been tied up, and said in a deep voice: "Search again."

"I'll go too." Cheng Mingyue said and started walking around the room.

He pressed here, touched there, and even looked under the bed. He even lay on the floor and knocked here and there.

Seeing how seriously Cheng Mingyue was searching, the police officers followed her method and searched room by room.

Soon a policeman shouted: "Boss, we found it, come quickly!"

The leader ran out upon hearing the sound, and Cheng Mingyue got up from the ground and followed closely behind.

A cellar was found under the bed in another room, where another strong man and three children were hiding.

Two of the children were lying there motionless. The big man was holding the little boy he had just abducted today, with a knife against his neck and a murderous look in his eyes.

The leading police officer was so angry that his teeth were chattering: "Let go of that child, and we can show leniency to you..."

But the big man didn't buy it at all. He laughed contemptuously and said, "I don't believe your nonsense. This little devil is my life-saving talisman. If I let this little devil go, I will definitely die."

The big man paused and said, "Where are my elder brother and elder sister-in-law? What did you do to them?"

The leading police officer waved to his men: "Go and bring the person over."

After a while, the couple, a man and a woman, were brought over.

They shouted to the big man, "Gangzi, we were betrayed by this stinky girl. If you can get out, you must avenge us."

The big man smiled sinisterly at Cheng Mingyue and made a gesture of wiping his neck.

The meaning was very clear. If they were alive, they would definitely seek revenge on her.

Cheng Mingyue was really disgusted by these people. They had no intention of repenting at all. Even at this point, they still wanted to threaten her. Their hearts were really dirty.

Cheng Mingyue was thinking about how she could help these policemen. No matter what, they had to catch the man. If they let one escape, there would be endless troubles. Who knew if they had any accomplices.

"Comrade police officer, let's let him out first." The cellar was too narrow, and it would be inconvenient even if we took action.

The leader nodded and said, "Listen, let's exit the room. You come out first and we can discuss the terms."

The big man lowered his head, thought about it, and agreed.

Not only is it inconvenient for the police to be in the cellar, it is also not conducive for him to escape.
