Chapter 379 We Have a Long Way to Go
After several days of training, Lu Sihui has become accustomed to life in the army. She likes the atmosphere here very much. When she is not training, she goes to learn from the old art soldiers. Among all the new recruits, she is the most studious and she wishes she could learn all the knowledge in one day.
On the sixth day, Fang Fang was released from the solitary confinement cell. Her face was pale, and the moment she saw the sun, she fell to the ground and burst into tears.
"Fang Fang, remember, the army is disciplined. I don't care what you did before you came to the army. No matter how high your family ranks, you are just a new soldier in the army and must obey orders. Soldiers are bound by their duty to obey orders. Do you understand?"
Instructor Huang looked at Fang Fang who was crying bitterly. She had lost a lot of weight in just a few days, her hair was sharp, and there was no longer the arrogance in her eyes as when she first arrived.
"Yes, I will be obedient in the future."
Fang Fang was scared, so she quickly got up from the ground, stood up straight, and answered honestly.
"What does it mean to be obedient? To follow orders."
Instructor Huang frowned. She didn't like what she said. It was as if she was the landlord's wife and was bullying her.
"Yes, I obey orders."
When Fang Fang saw Instructor Huang frowning, she was so scared that she answered hastily, fearing that she would be locked up again.
"Go wash up and eat in the cafeteria later."
Instructor Huang softened his tone, saying that she was, after all, a little girl and it would be fine if she was taught a lesson so that she would be afraid.
Fang Fang ran to the bathroom and washed herself inside and out. She hadn't changed her clothes for six days and she felt like she stunk.
He lingered in the bathroom and was unwilling to come out, afraid of being laughed at by his comrades, especially not wanting to see Lu Sihui.
She had robbed her man and was still living so comfortably, while she was locked up in that small dark room, listening to the horrible noises. She was so scared that she dared not sleep at night. She could only take a nap when it was quiet during the day. This reversal of day and night was even more of a torture. The six days of solitary confinement were like years.
"We have a long way to go."
The more I thought about it, the more I hated her. The only sounds in the bathroom were the sound of water and her grinding of teeth, which was even more frightening than a wild cat crying at night. If you didn't know, you would think a mouse had run into the bathroom!
In the cafeteria, Lu Sihui followed the team to line up for food. She liked military life for another important reason: she didn't have to pay for meals every day and was guaranteed to be full.
This is simply unimaginable in the end times. She cherishes the present life very much and does not waste a single grain of food. She even sweeps the vegetable plates clean with her rice.
Many of the veterans were city dwellers, and they couldn’t stand the way she ate. It was as if she was a starving ghost reincarnated, and they were particularly fond of food.
When Fang Fang walked into the cafeteria with the rice cake, the sharp-eyed Zhao Yuying saw her and stood up and waved to her, meaning that they were over here! But she didn't dare to shout, saying that loud noises were not allowed in the cafeteria.
The speed must be fast, the time is fixed, and you can't not finish eating.
Fang Fang saw her but pretended not to. She thought she was trying to laugh at her, so she followed the line to the food window with her rice in her hand and an expressionless face.
She took a look at the food inside: steamed buns, cabbage stewed with vermicelli, pickled radish, and chicken and potatoes stewed together. It was a pretty good meal, but it didn't have anything she liked.
But I would be hungry if I didn’t eat! I reluctantly asked for a steamed bun, some vegetables, and sat down in a corner.
"Zhao Yuying, just eat your meal! They are from the city and they look down on us for being old-fashioned."
Li Mei said sarcastically that she came from the countryside and was still upset about Fang Fang's mockery of rural people that day.
"This person too, can't he get along with others?"
Huang Yaomei sighed. Before she came to the army, she thought she could get along with her comrades like good sisters. She didn't expect that someone like Fang Fang would appear.
"Squad leader, she's glaring at you!"
