Chapter 12 Pork Leg

Yang Hang held the sleeping Erbao and Xiaobao in his arms, while Chu Yao held Dabao in her arms, and they walked towards their home.

Looking at the sleeping babies, Chu Yao realized that she might have to sleep in the same bed with Yang Hang tonight, and she immediately felt unwell.

Chu Yao suddenly had an idea and went straight to the kang. She gave up bathing herself and the babies, and lay down with Dabao in her arms. She said to Yang Hang, "You should go to bed quickly. It's late tonight, so I won't bathe the babies yet. I'll bathe them tomorrow."

"Just sleep in the main room, so that you won't be restless and put pressure on the babies." Without waiting for Yang Hang to speak, Chu Yao took the initiative again and cut off the possibility of letting Yang Hang get on the kang.

Chu Yao knew Yang Hang wasn't the type to be dishonest in bed, but this was their first time meeting, and the two of them were sharing a bed. Even with the baby between them, Chu Yao felt a little overwhelmed.

She could accept children because she liked them but didn't want to have her own, but she couldn't accept Yang Hang quickly.

We’ll have to talk about the future later.

For now, we can only take one step at a time.

Yang Hang looked at Chu Yao silently, only to see that Chu Yao had closed her eyes. He had no choice but to cover Chu Yao and the babies with a quilt, close the door, and go to the main room helplessly.

Whether Yang Hang can fall asleep tonight, or sleep well or not, has nothing to do with Chu Yao.

Chu Yao was holding the sweet-smelling babies and sleeping soundly. She could faintly hear their laughter. It seemed that she had dreamed of something good.

The next day, Chu Yao woke up and didn't see Yang Hang. She thought Yang Hang was keeping up his exercise habit and had gone for a run. Chu Yao didn't think much of it.

As I was about to go to the kitchen to make breakfast, I saw two pork hind legs on the chopping board, along with a few pounds of flour and rice. It seemed like Yang Hang was quite diligent, but he bought so much meat, could he finish it all? He had to go get ready the day after tomorrow.

These thoughts just flashed through Chu Yao's mind, and her hands kept moving, putting the things Yang Hang bought on the cupboard.

I scooped half a bowl of white flour and prepared to have some dumpling soup for breakfast. I happened to have some tomatoes at home.

Pour the scooped flour into a porcelain bowl, stir with chopsticks in your right hand, and pour water with your left hand. When the flour in the bowl becomes granular, it means it is ready to be put into the pot.

Brush a little oil in the pan, sauté chopped green onions, then pour in diced tomatoes and continue stir-frying until the tomatoes are fried and juicy, then add appropriate amount of water.

The amount of water added varies from person to person. Since there was a big eater named Yang Hang at home, Chu Yao added two large spoonfuls of water.

While waiting for the water in the pot to boil, Chu Yao simply made some cold cucumber salad and buried a few sweet potatoes in the stove.

After the water boiled, Chu Yao quickly and evenly poured the prepared noodle dumplings into the pot. After cooking for a while, she began to mix the ingredients. Suddenly, a pot of delicious noodle soup was ready.

Chu Yao had just finished making breakfast and was about to wake the babies up when Yang Hang came into the kitchen smelling something. Yang Hang must have a very sharp nose.

Chu Yao thought.

"Yang Hang, you bought meat and rice this morning. We're going there soon, aren't we? What are you doing?"

"Yaoyao, I just went for a run. I was thinking of going to my mom's place at noon. We're not sure if we'll have a day off during the Chinese New Year, so I bought some meat for mom to eat."

"Okay, do as you wish. It's all right on my end."

"Okay, after dinner, let's go to Dabao's grandmother's house first. Come back in the evening and bring the other hind leg meat to the old house."

"Okay, take the babies out and wash their faces and brush their teeth. I'll bring out breakfast."

This morning's dumpling soup received unanimous praise. The babies said they wanted another bowl, but Chu Yao was afraid that they would be too full, so she didn't dare to give them any more.

The rest of the dumpling soup was eaten up by Yang Hang.

Chu Yao watched Yang Hang wolfing down bowl after bowl. Isn't this guy afraid of the heat? He eats so fast, not afraid of indigestion.

After resting, the two of them carried their three babies and walked towards Chu Yao's parents' home. Yang Hang was also carrying a basket with the meat that had just been cut today. The meat was wrapped with several layers of old newspaper to prevent the meaty smell from leaking out and embarrassing others.

After walking and stopping, stopping and walking, half an hour later, the family of five was already sitting down to rest at the Chu family's house.

It’s really because Yang Hang has great physical strength.

Chu Yao and Yang Hang arrived at an unfortunate time, as Chu Yao's father and brother had already gone to work.

The Chu family hadn't seen Yang Hang for several years. This time, Yang Hang and Chu Yao came together, and they knew that they would probably die together soon.

Lin Ling asked her daughter-in-law to chat with Chu Yao and the others first. She went to work to call Chu's father and Chu's eldest brother to come back and accompany her son-in-law.

As soon as Chu Sheng and Chu Heng entered the house, they saw a pork leg casually placed on the table. The visual impact was amazing.

"Ayao, Yang Hang, you said you were leaving soon and your expenses were high. Why did you buy meat when you came to your own home? Take it back quickly and cook it to eat on the train. Don't waste it."

"Dad, look at what you're talking about. This is what Yang Hang bought for you as a gift. Since he bought it, you should just accept it with a clear conscience. It's not right to bring a gift home and then take it back."

"Dad, A Yao is right. This is my way of showing my filial piety to you. You all know why I work. Thanks to you for taking care of A Yao these past few years, I was able to work with peace of mind."

"Look at you, kid, what are you talking about? Since Yao is married to you, we are of course a family. Okay, old man, stop pushing it back and forth. Since it's the children's intention, we'll just stay. You three can have a good chat, and I'll give Yaoyao some instructions."
