Chapter 14 Departure

The train ticket was at 11 o'clock in the morning. Chu Heng and the Yang family came to Chu Yao's house early in the morning. They all helped to prepare things, some took things, and some held the children.

Wu Siyu brought out the chili sauce that she had prepared earlier. Yang Hang really likes spicy food, and Yaoyao especially likes it too.

The chili sauce is packed in a malted milk bottle, and the mouth of the bottle is covered tightly with newspaper so that it will not spill out.

Chu Heng brought his mother's homemade bean paste, dried radish and other scattered things.

Chu Yao and Yang Hang looked at the things brought by their families on both sides and looked at each other, feeling a little helpless, but these were foods filled with the love of their families.

After repacking their luggage, Yang Ming and Chu Heng sent the family of five to the train station. From Chu Yao's house to the train station, they had to change trains twice before reaching the city's train station.

A group of people left home, some carrying luggage and some holding babies.

It was the first time for the three little babies to go out. They were very excited, but they also knew that they would have to live with their parents for a long time in the future.

It was still early when they arrived at the train station. Chu Yao and the two older brothers were waiting in the waiting room to get on the train, while Yang Hang went to a nearby state-owned restaurant to buy some buns.

After taking two buses, everyone was hungry.

Yang Hang bought a dozen buns and everyone ate them while waiting for the train to arrive.

The two eldest brothers didn't say anything more. At their age, they seemed to be accustomed to separation, especially those who had a special job like Yang Hang.

Not long after we finished eating the buns, the loudspeaker announced that the train was about to arrive at the station.

The two older brothers helped carry the luggage, while Chu Yao and Yang Hang held the babies. They moved in step by step. There were so many people and luggage that there was almost no room to step.

Chu Yao placed the babies in the car seats and protected them herself. After the two elder brothers and Yang Hang packed their luggage, the two elder brothers got out of the car and left.

Chu Yao looked at the backs of the two elder brothers as they left, her eyes slightly warm. Although Chu Yao had more memories of the original owner before, the time they spent together had given her unprecedented warmth.

The eldest brother Chu Heng doesn't talk much, but he takes good care of his younger sister Chu Yao and loves his family very much, especially in this era when these are scarce resources. After all, there are only a few people who love their younger sisters.

Of course, the same goes for the eldest brother of the Yang family.

The sadness of parting was soon replaced by the strange smell on the train. At this time, some people even brought live chickens and ducks on the train. The various strange smells mixed together were so sour and refreshing.

Chu Yao finally experienced the characteristics of this era firsthand.

The three little babies were so captivated by the huge car that they didn't feel any sadness about leaving home. For children, home is wherever their parents are, and growing up without worries is always a happy thing.

Yang Hang kept an eye on Bao Bao and Chu Yao. Seeing that Chu Yao was nauseated by the fumes, he thought about waiting to see if there were any replacement tickets available so he could get two berths. This way, at least he would be more comfortable and the odor wouldn't be so strong.

"Dad, are we moving now?"

"Yeah, let's get on the train and when the babies wake up, we can get off."

Poor babies, they don’t know it will take a very long time before they can get off the bus.

The train moved forward slowly.

"Yaoyao, please take care of the baby. I'll see if there's any extra tickets available. We can change to a sleeper berth. You won't be able to rest well in the hard seats. You'll have to change trains after getting off, and you've been on the train for several hours."

"Okay, then you go see if there is any. I'll watch the babies, you go ahead."

Chu Yao put all her thoughts into paying attention to the babies' movements.

Yang Hang went out for a short while and came back.

"Yaoyao, I've bought the tickets. I'll take you and the baby there to rest for a while. I'll come get the luggage later."

"Okay, let's go over there."

It was an hour later when Chu Yao and the others had packed up their berths.

The one Yang Hang bought had upper and lower bunks on the left. Considering safety issues, Chu Yao took Erbao and Xiaobao to the upper bunk, while Yang Hang took Dabao to rest on the lower bunk.

The babies were curious and surprised to see that there were beds on the train, and they played with their dad on the lower bunk.

While the babies were playing, Chu Yao quickly took a nap so that Yang Hang could rest later.

The babies played for a long time and became more and more excited.

Yang Hang had no choice but to stretch out his index finger, shush, and point at his mother on the upper bunk, meaning not to disturb her sleep.

The babies nodded sensibly and lay down in a crooked manner. Now, the small lower bunk was occupied by three little babies.

Yang Hang had no place to lie down, and it was not convenient to move the baby to Chu Yao at this time, for fear of waking Chu Yao up.

Chu Yao slept until five in the afternoon and was able to have dinner immediately.

After Chu Yao woke up, she was still confused for a while. Then the clanging sounds came, and she remembered that she was on a train.

There was no sound from the lower bunk at this moment. It seemed that the father and his two sons had not woken up yet.

After Chu Yao got out of bed, she saw the babies in Yang Hang's arms. She thought it was funny no matter how she looked at it. A person with long legs and arms was lying on a hard sleeper bed on the train with three babies sleeping next to him.

He was almost curled up into a ball.

Yang Hang heard Chu Yao's laughter and gradually woke up. When he opened his eyes, he saw Chu Yao staring at him and the baby and laughing. He felt very happy in his heart.

When their eyes met, Chu Yao instantly looked away, lowered her head and took out the food she had prepared earlier from the luggage bag, and asked Yang Hang to wake up the babies to eat something.

Eating only the biscuits would be a bit dry, so Yang Hang volunteered to get some hot water.
