Seeing this, Jiang Shanshan secretly stuck out his tongue and quickly did the rest of the work.
When she was halfway through, Old Man Zhong suddenly came over.
Jiang Shanshan heard footsteps behind him, turned around and saw him standing behind him.
"Uncle Zhong." She called out respectfully.
Old Man Zhong's face immediately stretched, and he said somewhat unhappily, "I already said I was going to teach you the art of identifying antiques. So, by that measure, I'm your master, right? Why are you still calling me uncle?"
Jiang Shanshan was stunned for a moment after hearing his resentful words. Then, a light suddenly flashed in his mind. He immediately smiled and changed his tone, calling out, "Master Zhong."
Old man Zhong's ugly face finally improved a lot.
The usually strict mouth muttered quietly, "That's more like it."
"Look at this, can you tell anything about it?" As he spoke, his hands behind his back suddenly produced a stone like a magic trick.
Jiang Shanshan took a look at the stone in his hand and replied quietly, "I can see it, it's just a stone."
As soon as she finished speaking, she was hit on the head by Old Man Zhong rudely.
"Hey Yue, Master Zhong, why did you hit me on the head for no reason?" She asked with a look of grievance, touching the top of her head that had been hit.
It's obviously just a stone, so she doesn't seem to be wrong.
Old man Zhong spoke to her again with dignity, "Look carefully for me. If you don't see clearly, I'll hit you on the head again."
After hearing his threat, Jiang Shanshan immediately touched the top of his head with his hand.
In order to prevent it from being beaten again, she had to concentrate her attention and stare closely at the stone in his hand.
Just when she was about to stare her eyes out, suddenly a little green in a corner of the stone flashed into her eyes.
"No, it doesn't look like a stone." She immediately changed her words.
After hearing what she said, Old Man Zhong immediately stared at her nervously, "What is that?"
Jiang Shanshan took the stone from his hand and stared at it for a while. "It looks like jade, right? Is there jade in it?"
Old Man Zhong immediately showed a satisfied smile on his face. "It seems that you are not too stupid. You finally figured it out. Did you read the book I gave you carefully? Where did you get to?"
Jiang Shanshan's pretty face immediately revealed a guilty expression, and her eyes looked away from time to time.
"Just a little bit," she replied quietly.
When Old Man Zhong saw her looking around, he knew that this girl must have said something she had not told him the truth.
"I don't think you even looked at it!" he said with a cold snort.
Jiang Shanshan slowly turned her head and gave him a wry smile, "I read a page or two, so that counts as reading it."
Seeing his face turn grim, she immediately raised her hand and swore, "I promise you, I will read many pages next time!"
Old Man Zhong's expression improved a little, but he still snorted softly, "Remember what you said. If you try to fool an old man like me again, I won't teach you anymore."
Seeing him give in, Jiang Shanshan quickly admitted his mistake and promised, "No, no, I will definitely look carefully and won't be lazy again, I promise."
Old man Zhong's expression finally looked much better this time.
Soon his attention returned to the stone she held in her hand.
"This stone is a rough stone. It does contain jade. Look here. Although it is emerald green and transparent, it changes from green to white. It is obvious that it is just a façade of jade with rotten cotton inside. Apart from the little bit of jade here, the rest is just stone."
