Chapter 483: Scrap Metal

When the young couple was hugging each other, they heard the old man coughing outside. They were so scared that they quickly let go of each other.

When they looked outside, they realized that the old man was really coughing, and not because he noticed they were hugging each other.

The young couple looked at the embarrassing scene in front of them and couldn't help but burst out laughing.

Xu Shike glanced outside and whispered to her, "Shanshan, should we continue hugging for a while longer?"

Jiang Shanshan pushed away the two hands he extended, "Okay, stop messing around, and go find what you want."

Xu Shike looked at his blushing wife, smiled, turned around and joined her in shopping.

The young couple spent nearly an hour here before they finished looking for all the copper and iron parts.

When the young couple came out carrying two big bags, the old man was a little stunned.

When he opened it, he saw a pile of scrap copper and iron. He asked curiously, "Aren't you college students? Why did you bring all this copper and iron stuff home? This stuff can't be used or eaten."

Xu Shike chuckled softly and told him the explanation he had prepared earlier, "This is it, uncle. We have a lot of furniture at home that is missing parts, and I plan to use these to see if I can make a bed or something. An iron bed is more convenient to use."

When the old man heard this, he immediately looked at the couple with a strange look for a few times, then smiled with understanding, "So that's how it is. I understand. I've been through this myself. It's normal for young people to be a little impatient. Okay, these things you picked up would definitely not be sold last year, but now the policies have been much more relaxed. Even if I sell these things, no one will pay attention. How about this, ten cents per pound, what do you think of the price?"

The young couple had no objection to the price proposed by the old man.

Soon, the two bags were weighed and found to weigh 85 kilograms. In the end, Xu Shike paid nine yuan, and with the remaining fifty cents, he took a fancy to the two broken tires that the old man had placed in the corner of the yard.

Although these two bags weighed less than 100 kilograms, it was a bit difficult for the young couple who came on bicycles to take them back.

The young couple finally spent another fifty cents to borrow the old man's tattered tricycle and took the car back to Zhang's house.

The old man stood at the door of the scrap collection station, watching the young couple leave, humming some Peking opera.

"I have to have a good meal today. It would be great if there were two rich young men like those who just came here to buy scrap every day." The old man muttered this and walked in happily.

On the other side, the young couple returned to Zhang's house, one riding a tricycle and the other riding a bicycle.

Zhang Jinguo received a phone call early this morning and went out, and hasn't come back yet.

Old Man Zhong doesn't have to go to school these two days, so he is at Zhang's house accompanying Old Lady Zhong and taking care of little Dudu.

In the yard, two old people and a child were squatting on the ground, studying something.

This was the scene Jiang Shanshan and Xu Shike saw when they came back.

However, because the young couple were carrying things in, their breathing was a little loud, and they were soon discovered by Old Mrs. Zhong.

Seeing what they were carrying, Mrs. Zhong stood up, holding Xiao Dudu's hand. She walked over with a surprised expression and asked, "Didn't you go to register? Why did you bring so much junk?"
