For a moment, the Chu family's small building was dull and depressing.
Aunt Liu went into the kitchen and never came out again. She was constantly busy working, looking for work when there was nothing left.
Liang Yinqiu was in the bedroom on the first floor. She cried so much that her head hurt. She took a painkiller and then leaned against the head of the bed, sighing.
With tearful eyes, I thought for a while: People say raising a son can prevent old age, but actually, it doesn't prevent old age at all. Instead, I was pissed off to death.
Then she sadly recalled Chu Yifeng's sensible appearance.
Thinking back to the scene where Chu Yifeng was yelling at her just now, she felt drained of energy and had no energy at all, as if she had a serious illness.
Upstairs, Chu Yifeng, in a fit of anger, took out a pack of cigarettes from the drawer, took a few puffs in silence, then disliked the strong smell, put it out irritably, and climbed back into bed.
He fell asleep in a daze, and felt extremely depressed in his dreams.
I dreamed that not only did his love life become a difficult problem, but he also lost the qualification to be selected into the special forces brigade.
This made him angry! When he woke up, he found that the corners of the quilt were wrinkled by him. He turned over, pulled the quilt hard, and simply turned sideways to sleep again.
As for Old Mrs. Chu, who had delivered the frozen persimmons, she was also in her own room.
The old lady sat cross-legged on the bed, staring at the Buddha statue, thinking in her heart: How can I get the company back?
She racked her brains, and finally hung her head dejectedly.
Doesn't she think her words are effective now? If she were to return to the political arena and take charge again, people would have to listen to her, right?!
"well!"
The old lady said to herself:
"Forget it, let's not worry about the past. I hope that tiger woman doesn't die of tigerishness. If Xiaofeng gets married and has a great-grandson, she won't need to say anything. Whoever deserves it will get it!"
But the old lady was biased. Whenever she thought about that big sum of money, which was beyond her imagination, and which allowed Old Wang's family to eat and dress well, but not her Xiaofeng and Xiaoci, she felt uncomfortable.
Old Mrs. Chu, like her eldest daughter-in-law, took out the pills. She held the heart medicine in her mouth, lying on the bed with a complicated expression.
In her own little room, her expressions were much richer than in the living room downstairs.
…
As a mother, no matter how angry you are with your children, you should still love them as much as you can. You may have bad words but not bad hearts, and you should still be sincere and open-hearted.
Just like when Mrs. Chu saw her eldest son was about to burst into tears and beg her, she really stopped making a fuss and now behaved obediently and said little.
Just like Liang Yinqiu, he felt dizzy and his whole body felt like he had a serious illness, so he went into the kitchen.
She didn't want to think about why Chu Yifeng was so thin. She just knew that since her son was thin, he had to eat something good to replenish his body.
From what she heard on her son's phone today, he might be about to report back to the army, and from then on, he wouldn't come home every day, but a few times a month. Whenever she thought about this, Liang Yinqiu's motherly heart overflowed.
Liang Yinqiu used a spatula to pick out a piece of braised pork, tasted it, and told Aunt Liu:
"Put some more salt in it. Xiaofeng is used to eating something strong after following the army. You should pay attention to it next time and put less sugar in it when he's at home. He doesn't like it."
Just as he finished speaking, he heard the door open and walked out.
As soon as Chu Hongtian entered the door, he smelled the aroma of meat and his brows relaxed.
He shook his grey cotton socked feet twice and said loudly to Liang Yinqiu who was squatting in front of him:
"What are you thinking about? How are you going to wear these two slippers?"
Liang Yinqiu was furious.
All day long, she takes care of the old and the young, but no matter how hard she tries, she never gets any good results!
Besides, she was the one who gave birth to the son, so she had to endure no matter how angry she was. Who made her give birth to the son?
But as for your husband, you can do whatever you want. He's old now, and as long as you're willing to lose face, he doesn't have to care!
Liang Yinqiu stood up and looked at Chu Hongtian with a bad face, staring at him with disgust.
Chu Hongtian was stared at with a puzzled look on his face, but he still kept his legs raised in the marching posture, waiting for Liang Yinqiu to put on his shoes as usual.
Liang Yinqiu thought bitterly: I can't just be nice to you. I'll save you from getting ahead of me. I can't just indulge your bad temper!
He threw the two slippers in his hand to the ground with force. He was not in a good mood but had to lower his voice, fearing that Aunt Liu in the kitchen would hear him, and shouted softly:
"My feet are sweaty and smell so bad. You can wear them or not!" After saying that, he twisted his body hard, lifted the door curtain and went into the kitchen.
Chu Hongtian was completely bewildered. He looked at the door curtain in confusion, and after a few seconds of silence, he muttered quietly:
"This woman is about to make a scene."
He hooked the iron shoe cabinet with his toes and the slippers fell to the ground. He didn't even need to bend his waist, changed his shoes, went into the house, put his briefcase on the sofa, and went straight upstairs.
"Dangdangdang" there was a knock on the door...
"Mom, I'm back!"
...After a minute or two of silence, Chu Hongtian raised his voice and shouted again:
"Mom? I'm going into the house..."
"Ouch!" The old lady let out a long "ouch!" which frightened Chu Hongtian so much that he pushed the door open and asked, "What's wrong, mother?"
Old Mrs. Chu frowned and waved her hand weakly behind her: "Go back if you want to. What are you calling me for? I just closed my eyes."
Chu Hongtian retreated to the door awkwardly, his nasolabial folds deep in his smile, and he said with a smile:
"Well, then, Mom, you go to sleep. I'll call you when dinner is ready. Go to sleep, go to sleep."
He moved gently and closed the old lady's door again.
When he turned to go downstairs, he looked inside and saw Chu Hongtian striding in. He pushed open the half-closed door and took a look. He immediately got angry:
