Chapter 538: Go one by one

Liu Dapeng's few words left everyone inside and outside the courtyard a little confused.

The fat aunt next door was the first to react. She stood on a stool, leaned against the wall, and asked in a loud voice, "I say, is the eldest girl engaged? How come the uncles-in-law are all engaged?"

When asked this question, many people followed suit: "Is there a happy event in the Bi family? Why haven't we heard any news?"

Even Secretary Zhao Shugen's face showed dissatisfaction. He looked at Liu Yafang and the people standing in front of the room: "What do you mean, sister-in-law?"

Liu Yafang opened her mouth, then seemed to freeze and turned her head to look at Bi Yue.

As soon as she saw her mother's expression, Bi Yue's heart skipped a beat: It's over, her mother is going to announce it. This time she is having a fake marriage, I'm afraid even the chickens, ducks, geese, dogs and cats in the village will know about it.

"Ah, well, my eldest daughter found a soldier. They're not engaged, Fatty, but married. But in our countryside, doesn't it count if there's no wedding banquet? My son-in-law, this isn't..."

Liu Dapeng stepped forward and said, "We're on a mission. We'll have a wedding banquet when we're done. In the city, getting a marriage certificate counts, and that means we're married. The Bi family's son-in-law is Chu Yifeng, a battalion commander and a soldier."

"Yes, there is a mission." Liu Yafang blushed, her eyes sincere, and she looked at the people in and outside the courtyard and explained again:

"I just got back and haven't told everyone yet. I thought I'd wait until my son-in-law is done with his work and comes back to prepare the wedding banquet, then I'll notify everyone one by one. How can we leave anyone behind? Don't even think about leaving anyone behind."

The fat aunt widened her eyes in astonishment: "Oh my god, it's not an engagement, it's a real marriage?"

Zhao Shugen also frowned and complained, "Sister-in-law, there's something wrong between you and my brother Bi. At least give me some news. Yueyue getting married is a good thing, why are you hiding it? It's okay for a girl to get married when she grows up."

Outside the courtyard, an old man who had a good relationship with Bi Tiegang started to make a fuss:

"Secretary, you're still talking about others. We heard about your Dashan getting married, but we haven't had any wedding wine or seen the new bride yet."

Zhao Shugen was choked by the question. He looked even more embarrassed than Liu Yafang and coughed twice dryly.

Liu Yafang raised her eyelids and glanced at him. "To be honest, I didn't say it because there were special reasons, just like your kid. What else can I say?"

After this episode, Zhao Shugen directed Aunt Fat:

"Go call your sister-in-law, and you all have to come and help prepare the meal." Then he shouted to the outside:

"Go get someone to invite the Third Uncle over, and then we can all go back to our business. Third Xu, you're usually on good terms with Tie Gang, so now's the time to help out. We have guests over. Okay, everyone, go away. Don't hang around their car. If it gets scratched, you won't be able to pay for it even if you sell your house or land. Don't say I didn't warn you."

Liu Dapeng gestured for his uncle to enter the house first, and turned around and shouted, "It's okay, it's okay. The car is not afraid of being touched."

Bi Yue was pulled by Aunt Pang and Zhao Dashan's mother. They were all busy cooking, and their hands were very skillful, but they did not hesitate to ask what kind of person she was looking for.

When did you meet?

Bi Yue pursed her lips: "Very early."

"How did you meet?"

"Be a tutor."

"Huh?" Auntie Fatty raised an eyebrow. "Teaching your boyfriend to read? He can't read?"

"No, I'm a tutor for his younger brother."

Ge Yufeng immediately slapped her thigh and said, "Oh my god, it's really fate. Being a teacher can lead to a sister-in-law."

Bi Yue lowered her head in embarrassment and washed the vegetables.

The two people were still asking questions, not noticing that Bi Yue had stopped talking. They could even ask and answer some of the questions themselves.

What's your in-laws like? Are they cadres? Look at how big a group of brothers they've brought, so what kind of cadres must they be? Is there just one boy or several?

Bi Yue couldn't wash the vegetables anymore. If there was a crack in the ground, she would dive into it.

Liu Yafang was unsure and kept observing Bi Yue's expression, fearing that her daughter would get angry. Seeing her face flushed, she quickly instructed Bi Yue:

"Look at you, your face is covered in sweat. Go upstairs, wash your face, and change your clothes. This is all your aunt's business. No one will blame you if you don't work. Go back to the house."

Auntie Fat laughed and said, "Well, it's smoky and hot. Auntie Fat has taken care of it, Yueyue, just a little bit. You have to let me attend the wedding. Even if I have to go to the city, I have to go to Kyoto to drink a glass of wedding wine."

Ge Yufeng looked at Bi Yue's back and said to Liu Yafang with emotion:

"Time flies so fast. Last year I was still worrying about what kind of marriage my boy should find. Now..." After a pause, the two of them understood each other tacitly, and then Ge Yufeng continued:

"Sister-in-law, I didn't expect that you, who are so timid, are more efficient than me. You said that Yueyue should get married and she got married, and even got the certificate. Look at you, how come you didn't say anything before we were in Kyoto? What are your in-laws like?"

Bi Yue, with one foot in the door and the other out, heard her mother say, "How can I describe our in-laws? We are all people I dare not marry..."

She couldn't bear to listen any longer, and her heart was filled with grief.

Mom, have you forgotten that it’s because they are so powerful that they can come to our house and scold us?

Sadly, this still has to be brought up and flaunted. How can people live such empty lives?

Bi Yue stood at the stairs and saw Liu Dapeng introducing Chu Yifeng to his uncle, Zhao Shugen and second uncle. He was just about to tell them how Chu Yifeng was an excellent student and good character when he was a child. Those people were listening with gusto and sighing with emotion. She also frowned, her eyes full of helplessness.

My second aunt has gone out to borrow a bicycle and is going to ride back to their village to ask my eldest uncle's family to come over, saying that it is a happy event and everyone wants to have fun together.
