Chapter 63: The Right Time, Touching the Heart

The car speeding in the heavy rain suddenly seemed to remember something, slowed down again and again, moved forward slowly for a while, and simply pulled over to the side of the road to stop.

Bi Yue, who was sitting in the passenger seat, was stroking her hair with her fingers. She looked at Chu Yifeng with her big dark eyes: "What's the matter?"

Chu Yifeng stretched out his long arm and picked up the military water bottle from the back seat and handed it to Bi Yue:

"Drink something, don't catch a cold."

Bi Yue glanced at the kettle, then at Chu Yifeng. As she took it, she wondered, was it filled with liquor? She unscrewed the lid and sniffed. It was plain, steaming water, which she drank in a few sips.

Chu Yifeng's lips curled up slightly. He listened to Bi Yue's dry talk about Chu Ci along the way. He cooperated with her in a disjointed manner. When they were about to reach the rental house:

"Give me the kettle."

...Bi Yue looked at Chu Yifeng awkwardly as he poured water from the empty kettle into his mouth, and took the initiative to explain: "There's no more. I drank it all." In fact, there was only a bottom left!

Chu Yifeng nodded with an attitude of "I see", and then a loud sneeze sounded in the narrow carriage.

"Turn left in front. Well, come into the house later and have some hot water. I'll fill it up for you." If it weren't for her, he wouldn't have caught a cold.

The rain was still falling, and the military jackets were already soaked. Both men rushed to the door at an extremely fast speed.

In just two minutes, half of Bi Yue's white shirt was wet, especially when she was standing under the eaves. The rapid flow of water from the eaves soaked her shoulders.

She cried out "ouch" because it was so cold, and her white socks and plastic sandals were all soaked.

Bi Yue grabbed the lock: "Huh?"

"What's wrong?" Chu Yifeng was more carefree than Bi Yue. He simply stood in the rain holding the kettle and waiting. He looked calm and composed, as if he was not the one getting wet in the rain.

Bi Yue first shook her head, denying that she had made a mistake.

She had lived alone before and developed the habit of always paying attention to safety. In this era without safety doors, she was used to turning the lock with the reverse side facing outwards as a mark.

"It's okay. In case my eldest brother comes back, I have locked the door with the reverse side facing outwards." Without caring about praising her own cleverness, Bi Yue quickly inserted the key and opened the door.

This girl just said in the car that her brother had something to do tonight. Chu Yifeng pursed his lips.

"Hehe." Bi Yue laughed dryly, feeling a little embarrassed. "We just got back and are busy making money. Is the house a little messy?"

Chu Yifeng nodded without hesitation, agreeing. He looked around the room and realized that this girl, though capable outside, actually didn't like housework. He looked at the dust on the windowsill. A gust of wind would blow... He couldn't think anymore.

She will have to change this in the future.

Chu Yifeng took the towel and wiped his hair. As he wiped, his eyes could not help but glance at Bi Yue. No matter how new things were, they could not compare to the attraction of a little girl. Bi Yue was scooping water in her half-wet clothes...

The rain flowed into her chest. Under the dim light, the fair-skinned little girl's long neck sparkled and looked very elegant...

"Why don't you go inside and wait?" Bi Yue turned around and suggested to Chu Yifeng, "Why don't you change into my brother's clothes?"

Chu Yifeng awkwardly shifted his gaze and looked at the water tank seriously, almost getting caught: "Ahem, well, that's fine." After just a few seconds, Chu Yifeng narrowed his eyes and frowned slightly:

"Are you hiding something behind the tank?"

Bi Yue, who was about to light a fire to boil water, was stunned by the question. She blinked her eyes and asked, "Behind the vat?"

Chu Yifeng understood and squatted down to ask again: "Does your brother like to put things behind the tank?"

Bi Yue seemed to have a sixth sense, feeling inexplicably nervous, and answered with certainty:

"Impossible. He'll take a dime for every dime he spends."

Chu Yifeng patted the dust off his hands, stood up and concluded his speech: "If all this is impossible, then someone else has come into your room."

The steady and powerful affirmation instantly gave Bi Yue a chill. Her eyes widened in shock.

"What?!"

The slender index finger pointed to the key point for Bi Yue:

"You're so lazy, there's dust all around. Did you see that? There's a handprint behind the jar.

Also, you've never moved this vat, right? After a while, there should be a circular mark, a ring, underneath. Now, if you look at it again, the mark doesn't match the current position of the vat."

Bi Yue covered her mouth with both hands to muffle her screams.

Chu Yifeng patted Bi Yue's shoulder and said, "If your brother didn't hide something and moved the jar, then someone must have come in to look for it."

After saying that, he walked around Bi Yue and searched the small room directly, including the cabinets and windowsills, looking for signs of rummaging.

Bi Yue was dumbfounded. After Chu Yifeng patted her shoulders twice in a soothing manner, she still stood there without reacting. After Chu Yifeng climbed onto the kang, she turned around and said in a trembling voice:

"You don't scare people!"

I don't want to accept this fact. The lease on the house hasn't expired yet. Will I live in it or not? Besides, it sounds too disgusting, doesn't it?!

Chu Yifeng looked at Bi Yue with amusement: "Where do you usually hide your money?"

"Bank." Bi Yue tilted her head and spoke as if it was a matter of course.

Haha, I actually have money to deposit in the bank. No wonder I’m so busy. I must be reaping the rewards.

Chu Yifeng climbed down from the kang and turned his head to look at Bi Yue. His eyes were less serious and more smiling. "What about your pocket money?"

Bi Yue instinctively covered her lower abdomen with both hands. It was in her pants pocket!

He raised his head and looked at Chu Yifeng: "It's not a small amount, it's all sold now." Suddenly, as if remembering something:
