Chapter 29: Stop the car! Why is it getting more and more remote?

"Oh, are you going to visit relatives again?" The ticket seller on the bus was the same one from yesterday.

"Yes, my relatives liked the things I brought yesterday very much. We have a good relationship, so I said I would send some more today." Zheng Dandan responded with a smile.

"You have so many things at home." The ticket seller exclaimed with envy.

"That's all. After sending it to them, there won't be anything left at my house." Zheng Dandan waved her hand.

When she moves to the county town, she won't have to carry goods and take the bus so often, and she won't be afraid that her lies will be exposed.

"It's still the same old rule. If you have too many things, you have to buy a ticket. Today you need two tickets." The ticket seller glanced at the full backpack and informed Zheng Dandan.

"Why two tickets?" Sun Cuilan couldn't sit still after hearing what the ticket seller said.

"Auntie, you have a lot more stuff today than yesterday. Look, there's almost no room on the bus!" the ticket seller explained to Sun Cuilan.

"No problem." Zheng Dandan didn't want Sun Cuilan to get into an argument with the ticket seller because she was worried about the money, so she quickly agreed. It was only a matter of thirty cents, and harmony brings wealth.

"You are still sensible." The ticket seller praised Zheng Dandan.

"It's not easy for us farmers to make money. It's normal for my mother to feel sorry for the money. What's wrong with that?" Zheng Dandan said lightly, with a tone that was neither soft nor hard.

"I'm not good at talking." The ticket seller smiled. She was not angry even though she had hit a snag. Zheng Dandan was generous, but she was still thinking about getting benefits. "You are really filial."

"That's right, my daughter is the most filial in the surrounding area!" Sun Cuilan was a little unhappy before, but when she saw the ticket seller praising Zheng Dandan, she said happily and proudly, and all the unhappiness was instantly thrown behind her.

Half an hour passed in a flash, and soon Zheng Dandan and the others got off the bus. Just like last time, Zheng Dandan gave the conductor fifty cents. She had originally planned to add another fifty cents, considering the extra tiring this time, but the conductor's rude attitude towards Sun Cuilan made Zheng Dandan give up the idea.

"The county town is so grand!" After the eldest brother Zheng Jianye got off the car, a row of towering tube-shaped buildings came into view.

He Yuegui was speechless with shock. They worked tirelessly year-round, never having the chance to come to the county town. The county town and the village were two completely different worlds!

"Do business well and try to buy a house in the city as soon as possible." Zheng Dandan encouraged Zheng Jianye.

"Buy a house?" Zheng Jianye was shocked when he heard Zheng Dandan's words. He didn't know about his family's plan to buy a house.

"We'll talk about it in detail later when we have time. Let's get started first. Big brother, you go with Dad to gain some experience, and big sister-in-law, go with Mom. I have something to do today, so I'll be away for a while." Zheng Dandan arranged.

"Where are you going?" Sun Cuilan asked with concern.

"I have something to talk to Cheng Huadong about. We made an appointment yesterday." Zheng Dandan told Sun Cuilan.

Hearing it was Cheng Huadong, Sun Cuilan immediately felt relieved. "Be careful. When will you be back? Don't lose track of us!"

"I'm not sure about the time. You guys find a house and have someone pick me up at the station. I'll come directly to the station after I finish my business." Zheng Dandan said after thinking for a while.

Sun Cuilan agreed, and the two of them agreed. Zheng Dandan turned and left, quickly disappearing into the crowd.

"Hello, how much does it cost to go to No. 82 Longxing Street?"

In an inconspicuous corner of the county town, Zheng Dandan stopped a rickshaw and asked the price.

"Eighty cents." The driver looked at Zheng Dandan and replied.

"Okay, please help me move my things and go to No. 82 Longxing Street." Zheng Dandan pointed to several large sacks of things not far away and instructed the driver.

"Okay!" the driver agreed, then got off the cart, picked up the two large sacks, and put them on. After Zheng Dandan got on, he suddenly asked, "What's in there? They're so heavy! Each sack must be over a hundred pounds, right?"

"I'm visiting relatives and want to give them some local specialties. They're not worth much, but they're a token of my love." Zheng Dandan was very kind, but after the cart had been pulling for a few minutes, she suddenly felt something was amiss. She became alert and asked the driver, "Master, where are you going? Why are you getting so remote?"

"This is a small road," the driver explained.

"Stop the car and take the main road, please!" Zheng Dandan asked sternly and strongly.

"The small road is closer, we'll be there in a moment." The driver's pace showed no sign of stopping.

"I'm not in a hurry. Just keep to the main road, otherwise I will jump out of the car and call the police." Zheng Dandan became alert and warned the driver.

Hearing this, the driver finally stopped and said, "Why call the police? I'm not a bad guy."

"Then let's take the main road." Zheng Dandan insisted with a firm attitude.

The driver couldn't persuade her, so he sighed helplessly and changed the route.

We arrived safely at No. 82 Longxing Street. The driver was so tired that beads of sweat covered his forehead. "Little girl, you are so shameless! Why didn't you just come here? You insisted on taking the main road, making me take a long detour. I was so tired!"

"Sorry, I don't like taking shortcuts. I only want to take the easy way out." Zheng Dandan curled her lips slightly. She looked easy to talk to, but only after dealing with her did you realize how difficult she was. She pointed at the two large sacks in the car and said, "Please help me move them down."

The driver was a little annoyed, but under Zheng Dandan's strong gaze, he still obediently took down the sack.

"Here." Zheng Dandan sorted out the wrinkled eighty cents and handed it to the driver, then turned around and knocked on the door of No. 82 Longxing Street.

"Excuse me, who are you?" The young man who opened the door did not know Zheng Dandan.

"My name is Zheng Dandan. Cheng Huadong asked me to come here." Zheng Dandan briefly introduced herself and confirmed, "Is this No. 82 Longxing Street?"

"Mr. Cheng?" The young man was a little surprised, but his attitude became much more polite. "Please wait a moment."

After saying that, he ran into the house. Not long after, he appeared in front of Zheng Dandan with Cheng Huadong.

"So early." Cheng Huadong looked at Zheng Dandan with some surprise in his eyes. He didn't expect Zheng Dandan to come so early in the morning.

"What you want." Zheng Dandan pointed to a few large sacks and got straight to the point.

Cheng Huadong glanced at Zheng Dandan as she moved, then quickly returned his gaze to her and invited her in to talk.

"Move in."

After Zheng Dandan entered, Cheng Huadong instructed the young man who opened the door earlier.

"Yes, Mr. Cheng." The man agreed and took action immediately.

"Are you satisfied with this?" After the things were moved in, Zheng Dandan took the initiative to untie the knots and display the goods in the sacks.

Cheng Huadong picked up an apple and examined it carefully. It was rosy, plump, and without any wormholes. It was indeed the same quality as Zheng Dandan had given him. He wiped it and took a bite. It tasted very crisp and sweet.

"Very good." He then checked the oranges, cucumbers, cabbages, etc. one by one. After confirming that they were all high-quality goods, he smiled with satisfaction and looked up at Zheng Dandan, "But I want to confirm, are there really tens of thousands of kilograms?"

"Of course." Zheng Dandan smiled, confident and resolute.
