Chapter 43 Are You Going to Fire Me?

"Cock-a-doodle-doo~" In the early morning, the crowing of roosters pierced the silence in the darkness.

The Zheng brothers and sisters-in-law excitedly got up and packed up their supplies. Although they all had light dark circles under their eyes, it didn't affect their spirits at all.

While I was busy, there was a knock on the door.

The third brother, Zheng Jianjun, heard the noise and went to open the door. After seeing who it was, he couldn't help but be surprised, "Why are you here? Didn't my little sister ask you to come at 8 o'clock?"

The person knocking on the door was Tan Xueming.

"I got up early and had nothing to do anyway. I thought you were busy in the morning, so I came over to help." Tan Xueming replied in a very kind tone.

"How can I feel embarrassed about this?" Zheng Jianjun scratched his head.

"It's just a helping hand, there's nothing to be embarrassed about." Tan Xueming didn't care. This little help could not repay Zheng Dandan for saving his daughter's life.

He worked hard for two hours before time slowly approached eight o'clock.

"You're here." Zheng Dandan greeted Tan Xueming when she saw him. "Good morning."

"Little sister, he has been here for two hours. He was just helping me set up the stall." Zheng Jianjun said to Zheng Dandan after hearing this.

"Didn't you say you would come at eight o'clock?" Zheng Dandan looked at Tan Xueming in surprise.

Tan Xueming just smiled and didn't say anything.

"I asked him the same question, and he said he got up early and came over to help. Sister, you are a really honest assistant!" Zheng Jianjun's impression of Tan Xueming was extremely good.

Upon hearing this, Zheng Dandan roughly guessed what was going on and couldn't help but think that Tan Xueming was indeed grateful and had good character.

She took out four yuan and handed it to Tan Xueming, "This is your salary for setting up the stall yesterday and today."

"Are you going to fire me?" Tan Xueming looked panicked. He misunderstood Zheng Dandan's meaning and thought he was going to be fired.

"No, the wages for our stall are paid on a daily basis," Zheng Dandan explained.

Hearing this, Tan Xueming couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief, then shook his head, "This is what I should do, how can I ask for a salary?"

"Just take it. Consider it a bonus." Zheng Dandan stuffed the money into Tan Xueming's hand.

It's not that she has too much money to burn, but Tan Xueming has indeed created value, and she is doing her job according to her conscience.

Seeing Zheng Dandan's firm attitude, Tan Xueming stopped pulling and secretly swore in his heart that he would work harder for Zheng Dandan in the future.

"Have you rented a house?" After his third brother Zheng Jianjun left, Zheng Dandan asked Tan Xueming about his work progress.

"I found a house the night before yesterday and have already moved out of the shantytown," Tan Xueming replied. Without waiting for Zheng Dandan to ask again, he continued, "I've also inquired about places to learn how to drive, but signing up is a bit complicated and takes time."

"Well, remember to sign up for yourself too." Zheng Dandan nodded, then asked Tan Xueming to go out with her.

It had been two days since I last spoke with Cheng Huadong, and the delivery time they had agreed on had arrived.

"How about I give you a ride?" Tan Xueming sat on the back seat of the bicycle, looking at Zheng Dandan's back, feeling a little nervous.

He was not afraid that Zheng Dandan would fall, but he simply felt that it was inappropriate for Zheng Dandan to give him a ride.

"Okay." Zheng Dandan agreed readily.

This body is so pampered that it is a bit difficult to carry Tan Xueming.

The two exchanged positions and drove towards No. 82 Longxing Street.

Cheng Huadong sat in the room, glancing towards the door from time to time. The tea on the table had gone cold, clearly indicating he had been waiting for a long time.
